One of the standout aspects of the workplace is the camaraderie among team members. My time at Honest Health (formerly known as Honest Medical Group) was a disappointing and bad experience from the start. The company lacked proper training and onboarding, which made it difficult to adjust and perform effectively. The work environment was toxic, with little to no guidance or support from upper management, who often seemed clueless about their roles. Meetings frequently felt pointless and without direction, adding to the overall inefficiency.

After dedicating nearly three years to building a team and contributing to the company’s growth, I was laid off right before Christmas due to my position being eliminated. However, shortly after, they posted a higher-level role doing exactly what I had been doing for them. I’m actually glad not to be working for them anymore—it was a blessing to be laid off. This job left me feeling like I had wasted my time, and instead of growing in my career, I felt like I lost a sense of touch professionally.

I cannot in good conscience recommend Honest Health to anyone. The lack of organization, poor leadership, and overall disregard for employees make it a workplace to avoid.


Top heavy organization with too many "leaders" and not enough workers.

Organization is a "stepping-stone" for folks who want to advance their career by landing a new title and staying a short period of time without making any significant contributions.  Very cut-throat and unstable work environment and culture.  Transparency is preached but it is a hoax - much "behind the scenes" maneuvering.  Unclear and ever-changing organizational goals and KPIs but failure to provide meaningful or accurate quantitative metrics.  Failure to fairly execute annual employee evals as no benchmark data available.  Opportunity for advancement is limited to upper leadership roles and is dependent on the "regime" in power at the time.  Truly a "good ole boys" mentality of strategically positioning previous collogues in key roles, regardless of skills to value-add in the space.

The ability to execute novel services is impossible until the adoption of proper technology that is required to deliver promised services.  Failure to hire the right people, coupled the lack of technology, will likely be the downfall of the organization.

Inefficient meetings often lacked direction, contributing to overall inefficiency and time wastage.

I was laid off within six months of relocating and joining a new team (who seemed appropriately qualified) and contributing to the company's growth. After posting several lower-level jobs at half the pay, they soon posted multiple lower-level jobs at half the pay. This was a colossal waste of time and energy on my part, so I'm thrilled not to be working for them anymore. 

I can't recommend Honest Health to anyone in good moral faith. It is a very toxic and unprofessional workplace due to its lack of organization, poor leadership, promotion of incompetent individuals, and disregard for employees overall. RUN! 

From the interview process to onboarding, my experience with Honest Health has been nothing short of fantastic. The hiring process was clear, efficient, and left me feeling informed and confident. Every question I had was answered with care, and I felt respected from the very start.

As a remote employee, I was amazed at how smooth and well-organized my first day felt. The team clearly puts thought into creating a welcoming and structured experience. Even in a virtual setting, I immediately felt connected and part of something meaningful.

What truly sets Honest Health apart is the way they support their people. A few weeks after I started, I experienced a major family emergency. The understanding, flexibility, and genuine compassion I received during that time reminded me how rare and valuable a company like this is.

Every day, I feel aligned with the company’s mission and purpose. I’m proud of the work I do and deeply grateful to be part of such a supportive and purpose-driven organization. I truly feel at home here.

Management sets ambitious goals, and at times, expectations for output can feel high — even before all the foundational inputs are in place. It requires adaptability and a proactive mindset.

The culture ebbs and flows like any fast-paced organization, but overall, it's positive. The mantra "you can do hard things" isn’t just a saying here — it's a reality that’s embraced and practiced daily. That can be the most difficult part of the job, but also the most rewarding.

What makes it all worth it is the shared purpose. We are building something meaningful in healthcare to support primary care physicians — and while it’s hard work, you’re surrounded by incredibly driven, aligned, and passionate people who care deeply about the mission.

Culture on the surface is overwhelmingly positive BUT they are so top heavy in staff and lay offs and restructuring is constant, like quarterly without warning or discussion random layoffs happen and looking back at the few I have seen in my short tenure it is almost always preceded by hiring a few higher up folks— you get a ‘welcome Doctor so and so’ or ‘meet the new director of (blank)’ then within a week or so a slew of mid and lower level staff just get canned with no warning for no reason aside from ‘a change in business need’. 
I had a great team and always got positive feedback and solid performance reviews, but there gets to be this struggle to feels secure.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Unless you want to see yourself on the unemployment line in a year’s time (or less), I suggest you turn in the opposite direction and run. The people running this company are clueless. The layoff rate is ridiculous. Just ask them. Quite frankly, I’m shocked they’re still in business.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You don’t know where you stand at any given point with the boss. Poor communication. Poor leadership. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible. The paint a pretty picture about how awesome the company is, but in reality, they pivot the business strategy it seems like every 10 seconds. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Remote work. I did whatever work was asked of me. Sometimes, it felt like nothing more than busy work.

This company started out as a great place to work, but that changed quickly. There are mass layoffs every six months, which makes the environment stressful and uncertain. Paid time off is very limited, and HR is almost impossible to get in touch with — especially if you're being laid off. Severance is not explained up front, and you may have to wait up to a month to receive it.

Leadership is disorganized, with frequent changes to systems and policies that are never clearly communicated. The focus has shifted away from patient care and is now centered purely on numbers. It’s a toxic environment with poor communication, low morale, and very little  job security. 


It's all a facade. HR leadership should be fired. SLT needs to be coached on how to value their employees and treat them with respect.

It is increasingly evident that senior leaders do not genuinely value their teams. While statements made during town halls, team meetings, 1:1 often emphasize people as the company’s greatest asset, this sentiment doesn’t always translate into action or daily leadership behavior. More responsibility is given but without support or recognition.
