What is the best part of working at the company?
The clients are the best part about working at this company.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Communication between upper management and people that actually do the work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work culture was good until the CEO retired and her replacement started doing things differently (culturally) . This created a ripple effect and a negative environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
With a case load of about 120 people. You never know what's going to happen.

The workplace culture is so negative due to the restrictions they place on salaried employees including overwork and non-flexible hours. The most enjoyable part is working with clients, but even that gets overshadowed by all the negatives of this job. A typical day is mostly spent meeting impossible billable hour requirements and doing time consuming documentation in which the requirements often change. This job is extremely high stress and emotionally draining. 

Overall, very happy I had the experience of becoming a PRSS. Unfortunately there is little or misappropriated funding. The responsibility and expectations of supporting highly traumatized clients was not  balanced by support from upper staff.  The compensation certainly did not match the duties performed. It's fantastic the services are available. But the high turnover is something that might be prevented with better pay and better benefits.

Management is ridiculous and horrible

Backbiting, unsafe, unsupportive

The work with people was good but the management made it unbearable

 Hope offers exceptional support with a trauma-informed, client-focused approach. The staff are professional, respectful, and deeply committed to helping individuals build a better future. Their programs are  empower people to grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I’ve witnessed lives truly change here through counseling, advocacy, and consistent support. Highly recommend.

It became toxic after new leadership. It became more about financial growth than client centered. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My work load was consistent with more demands since the culture changed and finances became a problem.

The staff here is amazing. They are hard working people who truly do want to help their clients. The issues come from upper management. They claim to be trauma informed care but do not have an ounce of compassion towards what trauma their employees  have to endure while working. Upper management is more concerned about their personal feelings rather than improving issues. 

At first, the job was pretty good since it was my first job in the psychology field. They did just throw me in it with no training so I had to learn on my own on how to do the job. Even after working there for a few months, in my defense, I still don’t know exactly what I’m doing

There have been many recent management changes, and these are not always communicated to the staff very thoroughly. There are some cliques, and there have been several staff members who have decided to leave the agency.

I had the best boss I have ever had. She did her best to keep us running despite limited resources and support from upper management. The pay was okay, good work life balance, and a rewarding career.
