What is the best part of working at the company?
I liked the steady paycheck until it ended.  I liked when they provided food for us.  I liked some of the people who treated me nicely. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The early hours, the bad commute, rushing with the traffic and road construction to get to work to log into 6 to 7 logins to start the day, everyday was a different job in transportation which made it stressful, having to meet with management over performance reviews often, having to wait for someone to respond before I could take my breaks, having a supervisor who changed her views and policies from day to day, one day she would make a statement or policy and the next day it would change.  Being scrutinized and having to watch what you said because the people of various cultures would judge you, not being able to communicate or talk at times, one department would allow the employees to be friendly and the other department would not allow the freedom or flexiblity to do so. Not having a supervisor who would like you and would approach you with a less than friendly disposition.  I believe it depends upon the department you are working in, if you will be allowed to stay for a long time, also management won't allow you to the time to learn the job or various duties in a timely manner, everyone has a different learning curve and it makes it difficult being compared to others who have more time with the company, six months compared to one year, three years, five years or ten years.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Management would favor some over others and that made it difficult. Various cultures but having a supervisor would did not understand another one's culture.  Managers who would judge rather than communicate, they didn't understand and they would favor some overs others.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Different tasks would be assigned, routine work, going to your desk working at a task, having to communicate various parts or the job tasks in different areas, sometimes it was very complex and complicated but management thought you should learn the job quickly and have the same knowledge as someone has been there for years.

Working offsite for the transportation Side of hopelink was horrible. Management seriously needs work, They used to handle the concerns promptly when it was a different manager now it’s not Even addressed.  For four months offsite transportation was struggling management knew this, and kept saying they were never aware of the problem . I have watched every employee work offsite leave the job. Transportation department that works offsite has a high turnover because nothing was ever addressed. Throughout my day, working offsite, I would deal with verbal assaults as well as physical assaults. If you want to get assaulted or have terrible management work offsite if you want to have mindless repetitive Calls go to the call center. The best part of the job was the connections that I made with the hospital Staff landing me a job at the hospital. as well as it’s a job and a paycheck .Hardest part was giving our concerns weekly to management just for them not to do anything causing us all to look for other jobs. I believe hopelink itself is an amazing company just horrible management and horrible execution.

A typical day at work included fast pace phone calls from clients, facilities and partners. We scheduled rides for medicaid clients, faxed distance and higher mode notes to facilities as well as additional forms. we screened clients for medicaid and medical insurance. I learned how to screen clients for different insurances in medicaid as well as how to communicate fast and efficiant with medical facility staff, partners, clients and co workers in a fast pace call center. My co workers were amazing, we all collaborated and used group synerygy to help one another and bring the call centers stats up. we worked great as a team and had great communication. The hardest part of the job is to make the right call or desicion on things because its not always black and white with some of the call center rules. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing you helped a client, especially under extreme circumstances they are dealing with like medical issues.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Arranging transportation for sick, mental ill, people with substance etc  to get to their medical appointments.  Its was really rewarding.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Mental and emotional abuse from co workers and customers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Favoritism and discrimination. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Maybe 75 calls per day average. Arranging rides
Salvagibg trips by getting  passengers to drivers when there is a communication mix up.
Taking complaints ,passing them on to the appropriate department.

The environment in dispatch is horrible. Constant gossip about drivers and other employees, and lots of throwing others under the bus. It’s a look at ME atmosphere. Everyone wants to take credit for others work so they look good. Management in dispatch laughable because she actually manages her father ( is that supposed to happen??) and the trainer????  just watch out for her and the assistant trainer! A lot of brown nosing within the office. And out of work friendships that shouldn’t happen. Hopelink does care about the community there’s no denying that... But they don’t care about employees. If you do choose to work here just document everything! You’re going to need it!

This company provides a great service to the community.  Working daily with the supervisors and representatives to assist the clients while maintaining the state required service level.  monitoring call volumes and if a representative may need help to achieve the goals.  The hardest part of the job was no training or clear direction from upper management.  There where no manuals for training on the systems until I created them and placed them on a shared drive for future reference.

The culture in the transpiration department is very stiff and fairly formal. There is a pretense of openness, in reality it is"my way or the highway."  HR department holds a tough grip on all operations. The hierarchy of the company is clearly defined with not much upward mobility. Drivers feel they are treated unfairly by management. Drivers frequently complain about job conditions but do not feel able to feel heard by management. Mutual distrust between management and drivers. Management uses punitive punishments at will (driver suspension.) Firing of drivers is (almost) a weekly occurrence.There is no loyalty toward lower level employees, high loyalty for upper management.

I have learned a tremendous amount - both professionally and personally.  I enjoy my work and believe that the organization is genuinely trying to improve and grow.  It stumbles on occasion - like all organizations do - but it seems to be trying to make corrections where needed - not to mention its big picture mission - which I respect and admire.  When everything is taken into consideration - both positive and negative - it just might be the most rewarding job that I have ever had.  Taken as a whole, Hopelink is wonderful non-profit and a great place to work.

The management is fake and pretends that everyone there is one big family. They don't care bout you in any way. The only thing they care about is gettin the bus out. They smile in your face and talk behind your back. They don't communicate and have no idea how to speak to people with respect. Extremely condescending. Don't waist your time here unless your just looking for a bridge to get you to a better job. Even then I would say watch your back. They fire people faster then they hire. 

Hopelink is a great place to work! It is the best work culture I have been a part of. Managers are supportive and helpful and there is a positive vibe. I feel supported when I need help with anything and there is a huge emphasis on self-care here. I know that I am able to get what I need in order to take care of myself and be successful. I fully feel Hopelink cares about me. 

It is great to be a part of a workplace that makes such a big impact and is doing good work.
