During my brief employment, I did not receive a structured onboarding or training process beyond completing paperwork. Expectations were not clearly defined, and support during training was inconsistent. I was frequently left to manage tasks independently, including handling phone calls, without access to guidance or supervision.
During training, I experienced minimal support from existing staff. Questions were often met with statements that employees were too busy to assist, and there was little proactive communication with new hires. This made it difficult to learn procedures or clarify expectations.
I was hired as a Social Media Specialist with additional admissions and outreach responsibilities. Within days, my schedule was adjusted and then reduced, despite being hired for a set number of weekly hours. I was terminated less than a week after my official start date for “not catching on fast enough,” without written performance expectations, documented feedback, or an opportunity to improve.
The termination occurred abruptly and without prior notice. As of this writing, I have also experienced delays in receiving full payment for hours worked, despite follow-up and reference to applicable Connecticut wage laws.
Overall, the role required immediate performance without adequate training, role clarity, or internal processes to support new hires. Prospective employees may wish to ask detailed questions about onboarding, supervision, workload expectations, and payroll procedures before accepting an offer.
Advice to Management:
Establish a formal onboarding and training process, clarify roles and expectations in writing, ensure new hires have consistent access to support, and confirm payroll systems are accessible and compliant from day one.

I am a Certified Peer Support & Recovery Professional (CPSRP) and Yoga Therapist. Working as an IOP Billing Specialist at Hopewell Health Solutions has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The role is both challenging and meaningful, allowing me to directly support patient care by ensuring accurate and timely billing for intensive outpatient services. I am happy to come to work each day. The culture within the office is nice and enjoyable to be a part of. I am left to manage my workload on my own and not micromanaged. If I need something to make doing my job easier all I have to do is, ask and it gets ordered for me. The CEO recognizes hard work and tells us that the work we do is appreciated, and I actually feel appreciated, it's not a hollow shout out.  Management is supportive and always willing to teach. The hardest part about my job is waiting on hold with insurance, and that isn't even something that my employer has any control over. I have worked for plenty of toxic workplaces in the past, this place is a dream. 

I have had a great experience working at Hopewell Health Solutions. The environment is supportive, and I appreciate being part of a team that truly cares about the patients we serve. As an administrative team member, my role is fast-paced and allows me to learn something new every day while making a difference behind the scenes.

I enjoy working with a team that is dedicated to providing quality mental health care and making a positive impact in the community.

The work can be busy at times, but it is rewarding knowing that the work we do helps patients receive the support and care they need.
