Hudson Regional Hospital is one of the worst places to work in NJ.  Leadership here is a major disappointment—confident in their misguided beliefs and completely oblivious to the areas they lack. Upper management loves to give orders and provide no resources on how to set you up to succeed. By resources I mean, no software, no direction and no clear goals to achieve.

Leadership seems to have a disturbing preference for "yes people." Critical thinking and opposing opinions are not encouraged nor welcomed. The only way to survive is to bow down, agree with everything that is said, and avoid any signs of independent thought.

For anyone not in the medical field, this place is a dead end with zero chances for growth or advancement. It’s a stagnant environment where professional development is nonexistent.

In summary, working at Hudson Regional Hospital is a frustrating and disheartening experience. The toxic culture, ineffective leadership, and lack of resources make it a place to avoid if you value your career and most importantly your well-being.

I must say the management staff here is very good respectful and friendly at least at the department that I work. The problem is the equipment In the department is antiquated old equipment That often breaks down  also the volume of cases that they want to  do is too much in comparison to the instrument trays that they have and the equipment that they have to process which causes you to constantly be turning over trays and the work to pile up they are understaffed because people come in and observe the amount of work and they leave because the amount of work that you’re doing is not compatible to the salary you’re making fortunately I work per diem where you make more money but I would never work or recommend this job as a full-time employee

What is the best part of working at the company?
I have learned so much for being a small hospital and my respiratory staff along with sleep and EKG are great people. The CNO who I report to is a fair individual and listens to what you have to say and will teach you.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staffing can be stressful when someone calls out since we are a small hospital, we pull together and work with each other to cover shifts.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
teamwork, family, friendliness. As with most places we have our ups and downs, we do pull together and work things. out. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Daily huddles, daily patient rounds, training, teaching, meeting with staff on a daily basis.

Every day you come into work there was drama. Gossip within the ER department. Any issues with any ER employee it seemed to be known through out the hospital especially in the department of security and radiology. It was more of every person to themselves rather than team work as per supervisor. Management is clueless of how to manage their employees. The hardest part of the job was coming in without any drama. Very immature coworkers whom act sexual towards other employees, dress like they are out on a club and overall unpleasant to work with. You become a robot and can't make any minor or major mistakes or you'll get "error email messages" from management which are ridiculous.

Most of the staff working there are really nice. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management and not even staff to handle the ever increasing volume of patients

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Management has created a hostile work environment and Human Resources does very little to help. There is a union but most staff are reluctant to speak up because of retaliation from management. They will find a way to get you fired if you speak up about unsafe practices.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very rushed and little regard for patient safety.

I have never worked with a group of lazier EMS professionals. Management runs crews around and sleeps in their office. Protocols are in place to not allow crews to settle down and relax. Equipment is outdated. Stair chairs don’t have tracks, stretchers are old. Ambulances are old and rusted with broken doors. One post has old smelly couches, the other post is literally a closet in the hospital. They hire just anyone, without interviews or testing. They are desperate for employees because they fire so many people. A lot of turnover, more than usual EMS. Hospital has a terrible reputation. Just a poorly run department. 

Easy job by nature, get a task, grab your patient and safely transport within the hospital. Director of transport is young and will make his personal feelings or assumptions about you directly affect your hours. Supplies are scarce or rarely in proper working conditions. From management and director perspective speed is valued over patient care and safety. Certain favorites will get all the hours and others will get all the blame for the department’s short comings.  

This is a community hospital where the nurse does everyones job, Transport, dietary, Pharmacy and doctors,aides. You will be responsible for doctor to doctor communication. Often stuck in the middle where its your fault if something goes unchecked. The work flow is horrible from lab to pharmacy and assignments are often times 7-9 patients. The manager is kind, but most doctors are demeaning and rude. The charting system is also very old which leads to alot of mistakes if you arent experienced. if you need a job go for it, if you want to go to work looking forward to see your coworkers and grow professionally. look elsewhere

Work load is always different. We learned so many things by validation , CAP, routine work etc. Our management gave chance to learn new things. Some times gave chellenge work to prove your self.
Hard part is scheduling and teach new tech/ interns with work load.  We enjoyed different festivals and B'days.

The best part of working at this company is we work as team and the company treats  us with respect. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I don’t have any stress in my workplace.

It is an excellent place to work.

A  typical day in my company is to assist the patients with care and professionalism. Also, following all the instructions givenby the nurse.
