I enjoyed this place when I first started, learning something new and mastering multiple different facets of the workplace. Paid time off, paid lunches and little holiday parties every so often. Sounds great right? They tell you how much they care about you and how much they value your hard work. Then bam, they start firing everyone for the littlest slip up. Show up late 3 times in six week, bam fired. Not putting up good enough numbers for the week? Fired. Random drug tests at the end of every week, oh you smiled some weed two weeks ago? Bam fired. Oh your kid is sick again and you don’t have any vacation days left? Bam fired. Oh but the managers are raking in the bonuses and practicing their golf swing out back behind the warehouse. Oh sales are down this month we’re gonna cut everyone down to 25-30 hours a week now. Oh sales are still slow we’re going to have to make some layoffs and hire someone new to do your job for $3 less an hour than what your making. That comes out to about a $600 dollar savings a month. Now they just hire everyone through a temp agency so they don’t have to pay them benefits or a  reasonable wage. But look our stock shares are very profitable right now. Oh did I mention the managers having relations with the employees? Guess that gets you a promotion, boom promoted

Excellent work atmosphere in most divisions.  Health benefits are excellent and 401k matching is 6% but the choices of investments are questionable.  I worked in IT and most of us were separated 400 miles away so there wasn't a real cohesive day to day work bond.  Morale at my particular division location was low compared to other divisions.  There would be the occasional "appreciation catered lunch" or safety meeting giveaway.   Appreciation raises were sparse.   

The work was very satisfying though and paid business travel to help out our satellite locations across the US was the most enjoyable part of my job.  My co-workers at my location were good people with most having a sense of humor and making each day more enjoyable.  I actually made a few good friends while working there.  The quality of product is usually of very high standard.

Started my day by staring at my computer wondering if I would be allowed to be productive by upper management. Whenever the opportunity presented itself to solve smaller production problems that would go under their notice I would take it. It was nice to help the machinists, welders, and middle managers. Many people were friendly and fun to work with and were genuinely interested in improving their work. Most of my projects were never funded, pursued, and some were actively stopped. Doing 3-6 months of work to have every project for a year straight be shelved was frustrating. Benefits are good for family people, but would not recommend as many of my coworkers agreed that finding someone better would be worth the extra time.

Typical work day is 5 to 5 with an hour lunch.
You can learn and grow skills in a lot of areas working out here. 
Workplace culture is okay but everyone knows they can't expect to really trust "getting a raise" until it is actually deposited into their account on payday. 
The hardest part of the job is learning and growing your skills and responsibilities and reliability without having anything to incentivize you to do so and/or continue to do so.

Great health benefits, pay isn't great, opportunity to move up and learn and get to make some cool parts. But things have been slow and general optimism about a turn around is slowly being replaced by disappointment and a lack of faith in management and sales team. Plenty of quotes coming through but seems like they don't win any of them. Any time feedback on quotes seems to come through its always way overpriced. I've enjoyed the work I've done and have had great opportunities but this continual lack of work and doubts of the capabilities of the management and sales teams has really dampened even the most optimistic of us.

Worst experience of professional career.  Management lacks any type of skill. In their eyes everyone is replaceable. They show heavy favoritism for promotions and raises. President has a horrible vision for the company; he has no experience and only thinks of what makes him look good. HR manager is no better. She has two family members working there and has protected them through rounds of lay offs. Her husband was "hired" a week before first round and still remains. It could be great but until current leadership is replaced and they truly support their people it will remain a backstabbing  only out number one type of place. The good people are getting out quickly.

on a typical day at Hunting Energy Services. my day consisted of media blasting and swedging. I learned a lot from working with the company. it taught me great social skill, time management, and great work ethics. I honestly can say I have no complaints about management they were an awesome group of people to work for. Same with my co-workers everybody was honestly supportive and very helping when needed. the hardest part about my job was the repetitiveness and the long hours with no day off in sight at times. the most enjoyable part of my job was that it was very rewarding when I was constantly getting complements from management and third part oilfield inspectors.

Typical day was making office visits and phone calls to existing or future customers.
What I learned from management is proper approach to new customers body language and appearance is the first impression. Also new technical knowledge about our product from work done in the field.
Co-workers were always supportive in any question that I may have.
Most difficult part about the job I experienced was selling products to a small market during the oilfield downturn.
Most enjoyable part about the job was the opportunity to meet and greet new people on a weekly basis, and also the ability to be home with family every night.

Management transition from private ownership to holding company culture seems difficult. Some micromanagement, duplication of effort, and interference with job duties results.
The hardest part of the job is keeping the manufacturing process quality consistent in spite of differing resources, reassignment of personnel, and supervisory conflicts.
The most enjoyable part of the job is new project development; the chance to research, plan, and develop methods and tooling for the manufacture of a new customer part design.

VERY cyclical business model which lives and dies with the international oil field services market. Great perks when the market is thriving.  Extreme cost cutting, mostly employee layoffs, during downturns.  Very uneducated sales staff.  All outside professionals hired during my five years there to improve marketing, production efficiency, and inventory management were run off when their experience was so much greater than local plant managers who went hunting with the CEO and COO.
