When not pulled from my normal job to cover on a med cart I perform staff in-service education, new hire orientation, keep education and medical records of all staff at the facility. Perform Quality Assurance audits (infection, peri care, psychotropic meds, oral care, pain control, controlled med room, med cart, Code Status) to name a few. Schedule and administer yearly vaccinations (ex. flu vaccines) to residents and staff. I enjoy working with the residents and majority of the staff. 

The department I work in is able to provide flexibility with our work schedules.  The team works well together and shares experiences and knowledge.  Staff and departments work well together within our home assisting each other.  The downside is the lack of communication from management.  The lack of communication and the lack of response pertaining to changes made to payroll, vacations, and benefits, as well as pay and vacation shortages.

I have been employed with this company for 22 years. I started as a hospitality aide while in Nursing School. I have since climbed up the ladder all the way to Director of Nursing Services. This company has supported me through the death of a parent, children being born and everything in between. I have always been shown compassion throughout and encouragement for my growth. This truly is a FAMILY centered business.

The environment depends on CNA staffing and if they all show up or work together. Management helps within their abilities to assist residents daily.  It is hard on all staff and residents when the nursing floor in general is short , this is the least part of my position. Overall,  I'm happy with my position. I am not asked to do anything that is not within my scope. 

Work culture is unfair and hostile from staff peers and upper management. The hardest part of my job was being able to do my job to my full ability due to lack of staff. Workplace management was little to no communication. A typical day was hectic, tiring and stressful for not only resident but also staff

Base pay is very low. Employees aren’t not valued when they excel compared to mediocre co-workers. Expect you to give everything and receive little in return. Need to get rid of long-standing employees who run out new employees. Everyone in this organization is overdue for raises. They do not give back to employees. 

Of all nursing homes in our area HCC are really held to a high standard, especially Conesus Lake. The management is amazing, they really care about their staff and residents. It is made clear from the beginning that staff are to work together to make a safe and peaceful environment for both the staff and the residents.

The staff are extremely rude to each other, call ins and short staffed all the time. There is a severe lack in communication from corporate to the administrators and to the directors. 

they are always short staffed, heavy loads for staff, dirty building, rude staff, management is rude, make  you choose either a lower pay for health and pto or higher pay for nothing (and the pay is bad anyway)

Small homes make the work environment feel like home. Residents get some of the best care compared to other nursing homes in the area. Pay rates are low and not fair. New hires get paid more than those with seniority due to lack of raises.
