IG Design Group - Americas Atlanta office was a very stressful environment to work in. Even when you come in with a positive attitude for the day. Between management giving poor direction, and them just starting their training program it was a toxic environment. 

Some people in management positions were better than others. Overall they have their favorites and they will push the people they feel aren't perfect aside instead of building them up to succeed. Management also is very sneaky and manipulative. They lied to one another a lot and would pin it on their subordinates when things go wrong.

On a day to day basis you would get a vague brief at the beginning of the day to help start you off with a project. After that you are expected to check in with your manager and review your work. Then you would work on the project to completion, have a review, and make any changes. They do prefer that you have no changes or revisions to ensure everything is perfect.

This is not a good company to grow and develop your career. This is a company if you are perfect in your role and need no guidance from management.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They expect you to look at and fix every package of bows taking out bows with long tails, misshapen ones and packages missing colors. You have to label and prep the boxes and form your own pallet while the machines  never stop dropping packages. When you get backed up with open bags you fixed that need resealed and loose bows from  unsealed bags you get hollered at for a mess. They tell you you're too slow and need to be faster. Forget quality over quantity.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Give up quality for quantity. They want the packages to look nice and have the correct colors and amounts but don't give time to do it all

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most of the time you just dont have time for much. 20 min lunch break and a 15 min break. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on what area you're working. Once machines are ob they don't turn off until lunch or break.. forget needing to use the bathroom

I was hired as an inventory clerk. The work isn't hard, but you also aren't allowed to do anything all day except count. You cannot make changes in the inventory system, even after a manager checks them for you. It's like they hire people but don't give them real responsibilities. So you sit there all day, while your manager talks trash about you to other employees. After you ask for more responsibilities, they tell you to do things that aren't your job... but don't train you on them. The management has changed since I've been there, but the guy who used to run the place was SO awful for no reason. I guess this could be a good job if you don't really care about doing anything... at least in the office part. The pay sucks, and they won't give you a raise. The admin staff is terrible (at the admin building) and put on a big show to fool everyone into thinking they're super nice and helpful. Inventory is an absolute nightmare there. 

A typical day at IG Design Group consisted of being at work by 5 am, clocking in, and getting my papers ready. I'd count inventory, take break, count some more, take a break, count some more, clock out followed by signing out, then go home. There were quite a few issues with safety that they really lacked in and they had issues with not being on top of the security in there either. For the most part, IG Design was a good place to work. I was hired to work there through Labor Max staffing whom was also the one who was paying me $15.50 an hour so I'm not sure how much I would have been paid thru company since I was never hired on full time. Good luck to any future IG Design employees!

Working for IG Design was fun and I always got to learn something new everyday as a mechanical maintenance technician. I dont think their mech techs are paid very well in comparison to competing industrial settings. Benefits are pricey and not very good for the value. Definitely a family feeling to the maintenance department. my supervisor didnt spend much time on the floor. Poor job safety wise. Union culture is very nice though. work life balance is very good as well. Maintenance department is a little over stretched in my opinion. They do much more than machine maintenance, including, building maintenance and assisting in the warehouse. 

Arriving 30 minutes earlier than everyone, making sure duties was ready when my associates arrived. 
I learned that a team is only as strong as the leader of the team. How to delegate the job task and or duties. Management did not back there supervisors and Team-Leaders as they should. Too much favoritism on the job. Made it a bad environment.
 Working with the association my team and other team's made it a tremendous place to work.
Nothing was hard about the job. Working with seasonal- transitional associates getting them to buy-in to what needed to get done how it needed to be done and the job safety that comes along with working safely.
Meeting expectations, goals, enjoying your interactions with people, teaching them a job you loved.

The work environment was incredibly toxic. Management needs so much training. They love to play favorites and to pass on the blame when they fail at being leaders. Not to mention how manipulative they are and respecting zero boundaries. There are too many reasons to list here for their high turnover. So much overtime is expected. Very little chance of career growth and good luck getting a raise. This stepping stone job isn’t worth your time or mental health. Recent college graduates beware!

The best part of my experience was the coworkers worked as A team.

The most stressful part was knowing that the company was preparing to relocate to another state.

The whole work environment was A people friendly company.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me basically was A pretty much easy task because I knew exactly what my duties were and how to perform them.

There are a few decent areas to work in but most of them are filled with employees who have been there for 15 years or so which means there's not as much rom for advancement as it's made out to be. Some supervisors should not be in supervisor positions and due to this the work place culture suffers and new hires end up taking the worst of it. There's a reason certain positions are in "desperate need" of filling and it's not the pay, although they could pay better to deal with the issues their own management have created. 

Heartless, corporate, disorganized company. That pretty much sums it up. There are a few capable people who are overwhelmed, overworked and unappreciated. It doesn’t matter if you have devoted your entire life to DGA, for DECADES, they will can you in the next round of lay offs like you are just a number. The moral is non-existent, and the pay is minimal. They create products for celebrations but are life sucking as a whole.
