This company is like none I've ever worked for. In the time I was there I saw the rule change on average of once a month. I experienced different parts of the company due to rapid promotions. They have a bidding structure, meaning if you qualify for the job you put your name in a hat so to speak. interestingly though, some jobs are given based on tenure, and some based on interviewing the qualified candidates (Yet they don't always choose the MOST qualified).
 There are a lot of relatives and family friends working together since they removed the nepotism rules.
They added random drug testing (possibly because someone was smoking in the building)
They don't allow you to smoke so if you're addicted get used to no smoke breaks for 12-16 hours. No vaping or dipping, although people have.
They have forced overtime but certain departments handle it differently
There are a lot of older people who get jealous when you get promoted or potentially will be, likely due to working there for years and not qualifying for other jobs. this could also be because a lot of people were demoted when they had to transfer to different buildings when their original building closed down. I know it's awful that happened to them.
Speaking of promotions, the company uses a series of tests, called WorkKeys, to determine if a candidate is qualified for a promotion. so, you go offsite on your own time to take a test that the company pays for. If you score at least what they require you can now put your name in the proverbial hat. there are other qualifications that can be required, like state licenses.
The hardest part of the job is the uncertainty of when you will be required to work. There is a set schedule, but you can be subject to forcing when you are off or while you are there. this is based on tenure so if your new, you're screwed, at least until someone gets hired behind you.
Fortunately, there is a lot of turnover, which often comes from people being forced, which is a huge catch 22.
Unfortunately, there is a high turnover among supervisors and other administrative roles as well. This can lead to a lot of clashing in the production area.
You get paid for lunch if you remain on the clock and in the building, which in production is not optional. They pay well enough that if you don't bring lunch you can very well afford to order food to the main gate. 
Breaks are whenever you want, as long as your work is kept up. Depending on your job this can be great just make sure you don't fall asleep on your breaks or you're fired.
The place is unionized so no pay raises your pay rate is determined by your job unless your a part of administration therefore exempt.
If you happen to catch a stomach virus they will direct you to the nearest trash cans to visit in between tending to your machine and they encourage you to bring a change of clothes.
All in all, this is a great place to work.
It's as though they put you in shackles but they have the decency of adorning them with diamonds.

INVISTA S.a'r.l. is a subsidiary of Koch Industries and for the most part, it appeared that most employees were happy. I enjoyed the team that I worked for in the legal department as well as the co-workers. However, it does appear (maybe it was only prevalent in the department I was in) that the focus was more on meetings to discuss what your current job duties as well as ones in the near future. This made it hard to complete tasks and projects that you were involved in as well as any deadlines because it appeared you were always asked what you were doing and going to do instead of allowing you to focus on your duties and finish in a timely manner. My personal opinion would be to discontinue the micro-management and allow employees to work on their assigned tasks instead of always communicating. This company works by the premise founded by C. Koch which is MBM Management. It is a great concept and obviously worked well for him and his companies but I think some of the management could use better or proper training in regard to their overseeing of employees to have a better effect on the work product. I really enjoyed working for the company but felt uneasy to be paid to constantly be in meetings or discussions instead of the job I was paid to do. I do believe this was not the practice in all of Koch Industries' companies. It is a fantastic company with great benefits and it promotes a very uplifting work environment. It was also nice to see that the owner of the company actually comes to work every day to work! He even stood in line for his meals and PAID FOR THEM in the cafeteria!

A typical day at work would consist of being short handed and having to do the work of 3 people. This company needs to pay more attention its employees. The turn over rate has been high as of lately. They need to understand the employees want to feel like family and not prisoners. I understand that rules are set in place for safety and overall compliance reasons, but it feels more like an ultimatum and not a choice. Are jobs are threaten constantly saying if we don't do this or that we are going to shut down in the next few years. When they should ask the employees who are actually performing the job for their opinions. The hardest part of the job is being treated as if we are expendable and not family. the culture should be that the company treats all employees as assets and family but its more like we will just get rid of you and shut down. Management doesn't take the time to actually manage their employees, they sit in the office all day and manage from there. If you have an issue they will address it widely instead of taking the specific issue and solving it. No good communication and its more like they are the boss and we must comply. The pay is the only thing that is good currently about Invista. The swing 12hr shifts suck, especially at night where they expect the average human not to fall asleep in stead of breaking the shifts down to 1st 2nd and 3rd shifts so there it would be less likely that this would occur. I have learned that as an employee, I have a value and the right to be treated to that standard and some companies are not willing to see that.

I was not valued as an employee. Didn't even have an office and had to wander around like a nomad with my laptop. There's horrible teamwork. They've let go, retired, and scared away so many people that the responsibilities just piled up on the remaining survivors. People are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, and there's no chance for teamwork, especially for the role that I was in.

I had a terrible mentor/supervisor who blamed me for things not getting done, when I was the only person pushing for these projects. I let my own boss paint me in a negative light, telling me I needed to get out of the "victim's mentality," telling me I needed to change my attitude, when it was all really just building false accusations in a blame game so that they can preserve their reputation.

My title was an engineer, but my roles were not engineering related. While I cherished the moments working with others and doing real engineering work, most of my time was dedicated towards paperwork, and oh boy is there paperwork in this place.

Stay away from this place at all costs. It's not a good working environment. It's totally disorganized. It's a terrible place to grow as a young engineer. I'm ashamed to have stayed as long as I did, thinking I could make a difference here. I was so wrong.

INVISTA really wants to succeed in the flooring world but their management can't nail down a strategy to save their life. Communication from leadership is very minimal and most subordinates hear about potential changes, projects and partnerships through the rumor mill. I can't even count how many projects we strategized for hours, presented over and over again, worked on for months and then things were put on hold. You constantly feel like you're on the brink of making much needed improvements and then they never end up happening. Management keeps people busy with pipe dreams and projects that are completely out of your job scope. And most of the talented people feel unproductive and useless. 

The only benefit to INVISTA is the work life balance. You can come in late and leave early without anyone caring. It's a very outdated office with cruddy cubicles, limited conference rooms and no non-monetary perks except for free coffee. They say they're modernizing but it will never happen. They can't attract talent to a dying brand with circular, ineffective strategy. They seem more interested in promoting the toxic people into leadership than giving lower people opportunity to grow. Everything is political and shady.

Coworkers will back stab you in a heartbeat to ensure their job security. 

HR is biased, and will fire you without even asking your side based on what someone else says. 

Certain employees can get away with everything including smoking on the facility (tobacco-free workplace), costing the company hundreds of thousands of dollars for careless mistakes, pre-dating safety equipment inspections, and various other things.

Managers are biased, and use certain employees to get dirt on the other employees. Employees will text management and inform them of other employees actions. 

In training, all the trainers and speakers said follow procedures and guidelines, and your job is simple. Co-workers say procedures are out of date, and ineffective vs. experience. Every co-worker tells you a different way to perform a certain job. Policy and procedures states towers shall not be climbed during operation, but 3 times daily operators had to climb the most potent column to conduct temperatures readings of known rupture disk that was ruptured so unit didn't have to shut down. 

Management and Engineers were informed by several operators equipment needed to be replaced during shut downs. To avoid being down longer, equipment was not replaced. Valves had to opened and closed with pipe wrenches due to broken or missing handles.

responsible to start processing samples as soon as we arrive to work with a constant steady flow, I have learned in my 20+ years with this company to work well with others and take management direction and leading, all of my co-workers have been on this job as long or longer then I have been and we have established a very good working realtionship, the hardest part of this job is they are adding more and more jobs without hiring any people to handle the extra load and expecting the same top quality of production and this has been at times difficult to maintain. and also we have no job security constantly being reminded that we are replaceable, I have to say the most enjoyable aspect of this job has been my co-workers we all in the Lab setting have a very great working environment and have been able to keep that going.

I was a quality operator at first I worked every day including 3 out of my 7 days doing overtime. I worked even when it was a snow/ice storm. They made me work from 3am-7pm I worked the ending shift for someone else and then worked my shift. I didn’t receive my annual increase when everyone else I started with did. I was promoted to a spinning tech they moved my sections within my training and I was forced to do overtime while in training. I was then terminated, for poor attendance after I worked 9.5 hrs they didn’t even let me finish my shift they “snuck” me out in between the shift so nobody wouldn’t see me. My only advice is unless you’re dying and really can’t move, walk, or talk don’t call out sick just go to work. If the weather is bad if you can’t see the road and it’s washed out just pray you’ll make it to work. Because they don’t care what’s wrong in your life long as you’re at work on time.

Retaliation DOES take place but they (management as well as HR) can always mask it as something else. There fore there is no question as to why they would have to let you go. You can't trust a one of them. You always have to watch your back.  You will be lied to in front of your face. You can take numerous breaks when ever you want as long as you Want. If you are a smoker you can head right outside the backdoor anytime and as much as you like. Management just looks the other way. You can stream music, watch videos, walk around texting on your phone, even cat nap if you will. No expectations. No one is held accountable for their time and work ethic. All you have to say is your all covered up. 
This company has a big turn over. People come get trained then leave to go to a better company with better pay and room to grow.

Typical day at work was tough and it was a challenge but i like a challenge.You learn different things everyday there. Management was okay but better then most. They would come talk to you if something was wrong and if you did good they would say keep up the good work. The workplace culture was hot and humid but what do you expect at a plant. The hardest part of the job was swing shift especially if you have young children if you are a single parent. The most enjoyable part of the job is you could do as much overtime as you wanted. your co-workers made the job enjoyable especially when you are down and they knew it they would try to make the day better for you. you have no sick leave and when you need to take off for your kids that wasn't scheduled then you have only 6 time or 7 before you get wrote up. Should be more family friendly.
