I have worked for both a manufacturer and independent dealer.  With the Manufacturer, there are company politics, however its stable and you make good money but not great money.  

In the Independent channel, its about performance.  There is no ceiling, my income has tripled working in this environment.  However, this job is not for the faint at heart.  While you work independently within your team, you are held accountable to the team and company.  

You will be called out if you are not contributing(in a good way).  It's not a politically correct environment, you don't climb the company ladder through attrition and kissing up, you are rewarded for the work you do.

If you are about putting your head down, getting to work, accepting positive and negative feedback, competitive, enjoy the fruits of success, you will love it here.  

Everyone has the same common goals.....learn, try, fail, figure it out, try again, succeed.  At the end of the day, we help our clients with technology that places their business in a better position then there were the day before.  If you focus on helping the client succeed, your byproduct will be your success.

The most stressful part of being a service manager is balancing people, priorities, and pressure all at once. While this can be stressful at the same time with the support of upper management it becomes more manageable.

The work environment and culture at a copier company is typically fast‑paced, hands‑on, and team‑oriented, with a strong focus on customer service and problem‑solving. The Culture is very Family oriented, and we strive to make each other better.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Managing multiple personalities while making sure each member feel's valued and heard.

No two days look the same.  You're managing a pipeline, making outbound calls, running client meetings, and solving problems.  The role teaches you real consultative skills fast.  You learn how to understand a business before you ever pitch anything, and that makes you better at selling complex technology services than any training program could.  Management is supportive without hovering. Expectations are clear, they trust you to run your territory, and they back you when it counts.  The team culture matches that energy, competitive but not cutthroat.  People genuinely root for each other here.
You control your results. And when you close a deal you built from a cold conversation to a signed contract, that feeling doesn't get old.  The autonomy is real, the product is something you can stand behind, and the people make the hard weeks worth it.

It is a very fast paced environment that will challenge you every single day. If you want to become a true entrepreneur, you will learn what it takes to achieve that. Your income potential is incredibly high, however it will require a lot of hard work and dedication. 

The day to day work is challenging, but at the end of the day it is very rewarding. We work hard and long hours, but management does care and is willing to hear us out when needed.
