GCSS has a very professional team in their main office who provide CPR, CPI, & Medication Administration training courses for a week. Now when you finally go to the individuals' house to work as a DCP(Direct Care Professional), this is when you see GCSS's true colors because the house coordinator & manager have poor management skills; they are very unprofessional, disorganized, & make up all these crazy work schedules where you will be working with a different co-worker everyday so you cannot get use to who you will co-exist with each day...People just all over the place, no stable co-workers. The house manager will talk to you disrespectfully especially when you're a new employee. They will put you in a house with 4 clients, but it will be like 5 or 6 staff on one shift then the new employee is stuck doing all the work while the old employees talk on cell phones all day & the house is nasty with trash running over, laundry piling up, nasty dishes in the sink. Oh and if you work with an all female staff, all they do is gossip, back bite, smile in each one's face just to stab each other in the back. They have a high turnover rate for a reason, RUN!!!

 The day program is poorly run, the staff turn over rate is high, management plays favorites,some people get away with things while other's don't. 
Management has no clue what they are doing!! 
The staff hasn't had a raise in years!! Staff is making less than 9.00 but are expected to perform duties of someone making 20 an hour.In  fact staff is performing billing and whatever else GCSS wants you to do. They add more and more responsibility on the staff relieving their incompetent management of accountability and unfortunately their clients suffer.
Management will allow staff to make mistakes but when it gets reported, management will pretend they know nothing about it! The moral is down because staff is over worked and underpaid! The staff to client ratio is too low, more clients but not enough staff.

GCSS prefers to promote on the outside and in some cases, bypassing, promoting employees, who have busted their humps  for the company for years, with no raise!  If your desperate and in need of a job its perfect!!


A typical day at work consist of upon arrival, representing the company in a professional manner, checking the voicemail for respite request from families, sending out emails, return calls to families and agencies, check emails for applications for services, file reimbursements, update demographics in the database, send out referrals for assistance, switchboard duties, scan documents, answer questions from outside vendors and families, check month end reports, process home visits for family support coordinators and support coordinators, room reservations, take minutes of meetings, filing, data entry, copying, faxing, serve as backup to departments, other adminisrative duties as requested.

My work schedule is from 11P - 7:30A Monday - Friday, my typical night at work is basically monitoring juveniles during the night while they sleep and security of juveniles. During my time here have learned that a fern but, stern attitude is needed when dealing with juvenile and their behaviors. Management here at GCSS, (Georgia Community Support & Solutions), lack professionalism, sympathy and common courtesy towards there employees. There are no 401K, sick days or good benefits plans, we only accumulate 3.8 hours per pay period for vacation every 2 weeks and there has been no raise in pay since I began employment with GCSS . I have a good relationship with most of my co-workers. There is nothing that is hard about my job because I love what I do. The most enjoyable part of this job is that it can be laid back at times and stress free.

A typical work day consist of supervising staff members to assure they were complying with companies guidelines and rules. Assist with creating a physical environment that lend to the progress of individuals needs. Kept accurate daily documentation of activities.
This job taught me how to except people for who they are and to appreciate even the smallest things. Instead of complaining about what you don't have or what you want, you should be thankful for all that you have because things could always be worse. My experience with the management team taught me to always fulfill my position to the best of my ability because you never know how the decision you make can impact others. My co-workers taught me how not to be so careless.
The hardest part of my job was knowing that I could never change their state of being. I enjoyed encouraging, loving and support the individuals.

This is by far the most unprofessional place to ever work for period!!! It is 10 of us and we all had orientation last monday 02/28/19 and was tod that we will start working immediately after orientation! Well today is 02/06/19 and we're still not working nor have we received any phone calls on the status. The sad thing is that my recruiter knew that I was putting in a 2 weeks notice. We're all without jobs without any reasonable explanations.  The position was suppose to be ihp ( in home professionals) we have badges, we went through cpr but still no job,  no emails, no word from them. Now they're saying that it should be by next monday 02/11/19 but not sure!! Downright sad and very unprofessional. We've all been group chatting and frustrated because our bills are due. Run do not believe them!!!

 	Turns and re-positions bedridden clients, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores

you have to know how to deal with a lot of different personality, some good and some bad but you had to learn the clients you were working with and yes they put you in a house and really not tell you much about the people who lived there.. Most of the time you had to find out for your self and learned what worked for you.. Nevertheless it was an experience for a life time for me and i wouldn't change a thing about it because that job will push you in all different type of ways and you learn quick if being in that kind of field weather or not that's what you actually want to do.

Agency staff were nice for the most part on the surface; however, there was an underlying 'cutthroat' culture amongst some. CEO and Director were very nice. I was excited to come aboard and had high hopes for this company, but that changed once I started working. The policies in terms of workload and job expectations are obsolete. I don't feel like I was properly trained to complete documentation; however, I was still expected to do so no matter the quality of work. My supervisor was 'hands on yet hands off'.

The company overall has changed. I've been with them since 2017. Upper management hires who they want, managers now aren't in the homes so staff they like gets OT. There is no team work, the individuals money is the only thing the company cares about. There is no differential pay for overnights. Overall get your experience and go. It's not for anyone who wants to advance they only promote staff they like. Everyone sleeping together and they steal money all the time. You have to always cover your self. Sashagay white needs to be removed..cause she don't do nothing...the list goes on.
