My time working in the Lovecraftian-themed office can only be described as a descent into an otherworldly abyss. From the ominous architecture to the eerie lighting, the atmosphere reeked of an eldritch horror that transcended the boundaries of mere discomfort.

The workplace itself mirrored the disturbing settings of Lovecraft's tales - a labyrinth of cubicles that seemed to warp and twist as though influenced by malevolent forces. The oppressive shadows cast by dim, flickering lights added an extra layer of gloom to an already foreboding environment.

Communication among colleagues was shrouded in an unsettling silence, broken only by the occasional whispered conversations that hinted at mysteries too dreadful to share openly. The unwritten rules of the office seemed to change at the whim of unseen cosmic entities, leaving employees in a perpetual state of confusion and unease.

The management, or what passed for it, exhibited a bizarre indifference to the well-being of the staff. Requests for clarification on tasks were met with cryptic responses that left employees feeling like pawns in a cosmic game beyond their comprehension. The lack of transparency fostered an environment of paranoia and mistrust.

The company's commitment to a Lovecraftian aesthetic extended to the office events, which were more ritualistic than celebratory. Team-building exercises took on a macabre tone, with bizarre ceremonies that left participants questioning the sanity of those in charge.

As the days passed, the office began to feel like a Lovecraftian nightmare from which escape seemed impossible. The insidious nature of the environment began to take a toll on the mental well-being of the employees, as if the very essence of cosmic horror had seeped into their souls.

In conclusion, my experience in this Lovecraftian workplace was a harrowing journey into the unknown. While the aesthetic commitment to the theme was commendable, the toll it took on the work environment and the mental health of the employees was undeniable. I would caution anyone considering employment in such a place to think twice before venturing into the abyss of corporate eldritch horror.

I enjoyed my time at IEHP learned a lot about prior auths and medical insurance. The training program they had for pharm techs was amazing! Mostly everyone was friendly and the team culture there was something i never experienced before and i greatly appreciated how much effort they put trying to make the whole pharmacy a team. 

But up until about half way through my 6 months of contracted time Someone was being promoted from within so they had a restructuring of the teams. I ended up being under that new supervisor. No big deal i thought restructuring of departments happen all the time right? i was constantly commended for the work that i did and very often almost weekly received "red hearts" from him during our weekly morning huddles which basically are awards to the employees that do the highest volume of work or lowest mistakes for that week. and even my previous supervisor had given me extra responsibilities that no other temps had, before he took over as my supervisor. So i thought i was doing pretty well there.

Sure enough i had received a call from my agency stating they were ending my contract due to "performance" issues. what gives right? i was sure it had to be some kind of mistake or something. the whole 6 months i was there i had perfect attendance, well scratch that i was late 10 minutes once due to traffic. but anyway i tried to call that following monday to ask him what performance issues they were referring to. and why i didn't even get a warning so that i could work on whatever issues he thought i had. But to no avail he never answered any of my phone calls. 

so to sum it up i really did like it there and i wish i could have stayed but management needs to really work on how they treat their employees. and maybe even give them fair warning when they feel like someone is struggling. because to this day i had no idea as to what "performance issues" i was having.

The Interview Process
The process was highly disorganized and lacked professional structure. It was clear from the outset that there was no internal alignment regarding the role’s requirements. Instead of a standard competency-based evaluation, the session was rudderless and failed to respect the candidate's time or experience.

Key Red Flags
Behavioral Issues: The senior leadership team displayed demeaning and condescending behavior throughout the conversation. The atmosphere was adversarial rather than collaborative, which is a significant indicator of a toxic, low-engagement environment.

Lack of Functional Knowledge: When asked direct questions regarding daily job functions, KPIs, or specific performance outcomes, the leadership team was unable to provide clear answers. Their responses were vague and evasive, suggesting a lack of strategic vision.

Communication Breakdown: The interviewers struggled to communicate the department's goals. If senior leaders cannot define "success" during the hiring phase, it is a strong signal that the position lacks the necessary support and direction to be successful.

Advice to Management
Invest in leadership training and define the core objectives for your roles before bringing in candidates. Demeaning behavior during an interview reflects poorly on IEHP’s corporate culture and will continue to drive away top-tier talent.

During the pandemic, I worked at IEHP from 2020 to 2022. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was challenged to work from home under uncomfortable conditions, despite being at home. I had little to no time to properly prepare each day because we were expected to help whoever we could. Metrics and analytics were the focus, even though it was nearly impossible to meet them. Our work often went unacknowledged. We were praised by countless consumers for our hard work and dedication but reprimanded by the management team for forgetting to offer an 85-year-old member her flu shot or assist her with accessing the website. 

I would not recommend working in their member services department due to the horror stories I heard from senior staff about how difficult it was to get your foot in the door and how easy it was to be pushed back out by that same revolving door. Unfortunately, I was swept out as well. If I were to return as an IEHP team member, it would only be under the condition of being a partnering provider. Working for this company is beneficial for anyone with a license, such as an RN or LVN. However, if you do not have that type of license, be aware that you will most likely be considered replaceable.

I was a temp to hire while there, I had all of the qualifications for the job. I got really sick and was sent home by management on several different occasions, not by choice and was told that I would not be let go or my assignment would not be ended and come to find out they fired me. Even though management were the ones who sent me home.  This was the best job I’ve ever had and during that time when I was sick I ended up going to the emergency room and they told me that I was pregnant and that same day was when I found out I had lost my job. When I got the call from Medical professional temp agency. So I’ve have been with out a job for 1 year almost 2 now and I have been actively looking but no one will pay me for my experience. I really wish I had a second chance to come back to IEHP so that I could do it right this time and not through a temp agency. Like I said before this was the best job that I’ve ever had.

I was hired on by a recruitment company and worked along side with a recruiter who got me on with IEHP. I had an interview which consisted of about 4-5 people through a zoom call. I was contacted about 2-weeks later to be hired on as a temp for 6-months. I was let go after a little over 
2-months and if you don't include the 3-week training it would be a total of 7-weeks. The 6-month trial period was a joke!. I was working remotely and logged in about 10 minutes before my shift and was contacted probably not even 5-minutes to the hour from my recruiter telling me that IEHP had let me go as of the previous Friday. I was told that my QA scores were not meeting benchmark and there was a lot of background noise coming through the calls I was receiving. I was taking measures to move my work station clear of the distractions and was working harder to bring my Quality Assurance up because I was given coaching the last day before I was let go and told about it. Instead they just let me go! 

IEHP's mission statement talks about "team culture" but management lies about everything they do. I have seen them fire several people without merit, keep employees that have poor performances, promote incompetent Hispanics to supervisors and managers that will lie straight to your face. This company is a joke which is why there is such a high turnover. You will be micro-managed and given added responsibilities which includes training fellow employees and then fired with no reason. But ironically, management promised me that I would not be fired because I was a good worker but I knew never to trust them. Stay away from this place because they work you hard for low pay and it is a hostile work environment. If you work here, you better watch your back...

I really like how friendly everyone is. I also like all the resources that are offered to the community, and I love the benefits.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part for me working at I. E h p is how processes continually changes and micromanagement. I don't feel like I have autonomy.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My first two days back in the office, tuesdays and wednesdays are pretty good. Sometimes there's so many distractions I can't concentrate on my work. By thursday, i'm ready to work from home.Because I feel like I can't focus the three days that i'm in the office.I'm more productive at home.

The staff is wonderful, I have never worked for such an employee oriented company.

While the company prides itself on putting its members first, they are incredibly warm and generous. The CEO, Dr. Bradley Gilbert, is such a kind, calming and reassuring presence. In addition, he instills this in all of the employees. 

The most difficult part of the job is providing outreach and care to members that have multiple health problems, making them unstable and often, homeless and difficult to catch up with.

We do take time to commune with each other, celebrating birthdays and events just like one would with family (while continuing to provide excellent member/patient care) to the population we serve.

Terrible micromanagement. They are very strict. They count every second that work work on something and monitor extremely closely. There is no support when you need it, in fact they tell you to figure it out and when you don’t figure it out they hold you accountable and “coach” you. They claim to follow LEAN but so many protocols are not LEAN at all. This company is very biased and treat lower positions like the “lower class” Zero support, Zero compassion for employees, Zero work life balance, Not willing to work with your time off requests even when you have enough PTO your requests still get denied.
