What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The current production situation raises significant concerns. For nearly two years, only one department (Perforator) has remained operational while other departments such as Patties and Cottonoid have been interrupted. There has been limited communication from upper management regarding the status of these departments, the steps being taken to resolve the issues, or a clear timeline for when operations may resume. This lack of transparency naturally raises questions among employees regarding the long-term stability of the facility and overall job security.
Additionally, there are concerns regarding leadership within the Perforator department. The current supervisory approach appears to lack the level of professionalism expected for the role. There have been instances where personal friendships seem to interfere with professional decision-making, which has led to perceptions of favoritism among certain employees. Furthermore, the use of inappropriate language and the overall communication style can create an uncomfortable work environment and does not reflect the standards typically associated with leadership positions.
This situation may also be contributing to employee dissatisfaction and turnover within the department. Some team members are aware of these issues but may feel hesitant to raise them due to concerns about potential repercussions. For this reason, it may be beneficial for management and Human Resources to look more closely into these matters and ensure that employees feel safe and supported when sharing feedback.
Lastly, there are concerns regarding the current structure of the Quality department. A comprehensive review and restructuring may be beneficial to ensure that Quality operates with the independence necessary to effectively oversee compliance, procedures, and workflow. Quality should ideally function as an independent authority that ensures standards are maintained across production without relying on or being influenced by production leadership.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic & narcissistic.
Leadership within certain departments can sometimes create a difficult work environment. There are concerns about professionalism, communication style, and the ability to separate personal relationships from workplace responsibilities. At times, decision-making and interactions with staff may come across as dismissive or overly self-focused, which can negatively affect team morale and trust within the department.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There are instances where the workplace culture can feel unprofessional, and overall morale appears low. A lack of motivation among some team members can affect productivity and the general work environment.

A typical day at work is spending majority of your time in the OR chasing cases, then doing dinners in the evening. Some times working 12+ hour days if you truly want to hit your quota. Executive leadership believes slapping customers with price increases while not shipping out orders for months is the way to keep revenue coming on a product that is 30 years old. Nothing new in the pipeline in terms of new technology. They have terrible projections on when inventory will be available, and constantly tell you "things will get better!" only to be delayed years. Unrealistic expectations on hitting quota, and reward the reps doing questionable things to achieve sales (dating HCPs or execs, excess spending, etc.). I learned how NOT to manage people at this company.

The culture at Integra is toxic at best. Known offenders are promoted into management roles and given the stage to set "examples" for the new churn of reps. Most sales reps only last 2 years at most once they figure out the facade. The turnover rate is very high. You will go to the national sales meeting one year and then the next, not recognize anyone in the room (one year, nearly half of the company was new hires). Going through the interview process will expose the red flags: inconsistent salary expectations, not providing onboarding information, thrown off the deep end to figure things out yourself (reps covering surgical cases 1-2 days after they start with no formal training). If you bring something to execs leadership attention that can be improved, it will be swept under the rug and you will be punished for not drinking the corporate kool-aid and have a target on your back.

Hardest part of the job is being a marginalized group in this company. You are preyed by execs, and have zero support or respect for your personal needs. Disability? They will publicly humiliate you and violate ADA. Having a baby? Management will tell you that you need to focus more on selling and less on being a mother - all while offering zero support when you are the only rep within hours of your territory if you don't have an associate. There are multiple former female employees suing Integra due to the discrimination - and winning. 

The most rewarding part of the job is working with HCPs and patients in the hospitals.

A Typical Day at Work:
Each day at Integra LifeSciences is unpredictable, not in a dynamic or exciting way, but rather due to a lack of structure and clear direction. Tasks are often assigned at the last minute with unrealistic deadlines, leading to frequent overtime and a chaotic work environment.

What I Believe I Learned:
While the role promised a breadth of learning opportunities and professional development, the reality was quite different. The focus was overwhelmingly on immediate outputs with little regard for long-term skill development or career advancement.

Management:
The management at Integra LifeSciences seems more focused on short-term results rather than the well-being and professional growth of their employees. Feedback is rarely constructive and often delivered in a manner that is not conducive to learning or improvement. There is a significant disconnect between upper management and the rest of the staff, with little effort made to bridge this gap.

Workplace Culture:
The culture can be described as cut-throat and unsupportive. The competitive atmosphere fosters distrust among colleagues, which is compounded by a lack of communication from the top down. Recognition is scarce, and when given, it often feels disingenuous or tied to unrealistic expectations.

The Hardest Part of the Job:
Navigating the internal politics and the constant pressure to perform without adequate resources or support from management is incredibly challenging. The lack of structured processes and clear communication often leads to confusion and redundant work.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job:
It’s difficult to pinpoint enjoyable aspects in an environment that largely neglects employee morale and job satisfaction. Perhaps the only solace comes from fellow employees who share in the struggle and band together in small ways to support each other amidst the chaos.

Conclusion:
If you are seeking a position that offers personal and professional growth, a supportive team environment, or transparent leadership, Integra LifeSciences may not be the right fit. Prospective employees should carefully consider these factors and possibly look elsewhere for opportunities that better value human capital and foster a positive workplace culture.

Been with this company for over a decade and I can say it's terrible. First off, no one knows who or what about who or what. Communication between departments is pretty much nonexistent. Upper management could give a hoot about anybody in the company but themselves. Lower management isn't all that better but they slightly are. HR is a dumpster fire. Takes weeks, assuming they even respond to you, to give you an answer to a question. Everyone on 2Jan  is holding their breath because they fire a ton of people every New Year EXCEPT the upper management of course. I guess, lately, upper management has figured that little fiasco out so the last few years they've fired people on 2Jan as usual but not as many and then in February everyone else just to mix it up a bit I suppose. The kick is when they fire you they actually expect you to train someone else before you leave (usually a week) they didn't fire to do your job. And if you don't they say you're "unprofessional". Sales Rep territories are CONSTANTLY abandoned because of the firings so no rep is there and upper management has the nerve to wonder why there are no sales in a certain territory and take it out on the RBM (Regional Business Manager). The amount of time spent on forcing people to listen to videos that have absolutely NOTHING to do with your position is palpable. 90% of the meetings they have and they have a TON of them, are another colossal waste of time and money. Nothing ever gets done and they order take out from the most expensive places to feed the people in the meeting. The new building has 75% empty offices but of course they still have to heat/ac them, another colossal waste of money. The only positive for this company is they do pay you well but other than that if you want a job were you worry every day whether you will have a job tomorrow or after 1Jan, have a nonexistent HR department, pretty much no communication between departments and a management group who could care less about you then this is the place for you.       

Designing and executing pre-clinical studies for 510(k) submissions.  Interfacing with senior management to achieve company objectives.  Histology interpretation.  Supervising the laboratory and being integral to keep it running for design and development. Accelerating company sales by interfacing directly with physicians and hospital administration to adopt our technologies .  

A  typical day at work was to come in at 5am so I could sit in a conference call with the East Coast, where are corporate headquarters are located. I was in charge of updating senior management with the progress on product development.

What I learned was this:  you have to be same team to succeed.  Interoffice politics slow success down. It's the mindset of a strong team that we are working together to achieve our goals.

Workplace culture was mediocre.  But we worked on.  Our division (OrthoBiologics) was  a cog in the wheel, but we were always profitable.  I made sure to forge strong relationships with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Control,  Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Sales and Marketing and Operations.  This is how we launched and supported new technologies

The hardest part of the job was the conflict between departments.  This reality slowed progress.  However I was the intermediary to get the team on the same page, with the aid of my colleagues, to push the requirements, development, regulatory approval, marketing message  and ultimate launch an advanced new medIcal device.

The most enjoyable part of my work was that I was integral in making sure that our team was doing the  most it could to further product development.  My team was strong.  We all had our fortes and weaknesses but all together we got it done, and done correctly.  This led to the launch of many life saving products to improve health of those in need of surgical intervention.

A typical day at work = You feel like an eternal firefighter that never extinguishes that fire, even if it’s the same, always! The company's top management programs actions without listening to those ones that have a real and deep knowledge of the subject

What you learned = In this type of company/Culture do not say to the C-level( and to the directors as well, what they do not want to hear, even if it is the best for the company

Management => Directors are unprepared(More concerned to say what the C-level wants to hear) and invest a lot of time in doing only internal politics, being politically correct is the fastest way for promotions there

Workplace culture = "HR" participation is disastrous(especially the international core), they say they want to create a culture of transparency and closeness to employees, but they are far from being Walk to Talk

The hardest part of the job = To be in a place where they throw tons of money out the window, every day, by simply not listening to who really knows the business. Increase the sales quota to the crazy levels, seems to be their brilliant strategy 

The most enjoyable part of the job = With so little autonomy and support from all levels of the management(see the company's employee turnover rate), even to do what is right, you must invest a humongous quantity of energy and it is a huge pleasure to beat competitors on the street and at the same time, also beat sales prevention departments (it seems that several people are in the company just to hinder the good result)

Overall, a good work environment and very good colleagues.  Most colleagues work very hard, are focused on delivering results and are very good to work with.  Although technology, standard work and personal development programs are lacking, dedicated employees "working harder not smarter" get the job done. Producing medical products for patients in need is a nice outcome of your day's work.  However, a cohesive company culture is lacking.  Having grown quickly by acquisition, the parent company has not established a clear and consistent culture.  Locations have very different behaviors.  Although defined as a core value, senior leadership's respect for people tends to be an empty phrase.  Companies are bought and sold to develop market strategies, and people are thought of in a similar way.  Frequent broad "restructuring" results in job eliminations and employee terminations with no advance notice. Bottom line: Competitive pay. Mediocre benefits, minimal career growth, and tenuous job security do not match the "Respect for People" core value being advertised.

The initial on-boarding process is a little boring. You have to review the procedures before you can start working on the floor but they will bring you in more and more the further along you are in reviewing. The work itself isn't difficult to understand though there is a lot of little things you need to remember. Your other team members will help you if you need it.
Once you get the hang of things it's pretty repetitive.
The atmosphere is welcoming. It's a small team so it's important everyone can work together since you can't avoid each other usually. 
The supervisors and managers are great. They take into consideration things you bring up, such as ways to improve work. It's actually encouraged and you get free lunch each month if you successfully implement an improvement.
If you work as a tissue processing technician you work four days, ten hours each, but with the work you do it doesn't often feel as long as it is because some of the processes can't be completed faster, such as the delivery and storing viable bladders and certain preservation methods.

Great environment to work in, however there are only 2 people in CSR for pain management. You really become dependent on each others attendance but over all its not so busy so its not so overwhelming. However, planning vacation was a bit difficult because I never got a direct answer and I always had to remind the supervisor. I was told that I would be hired within the 90 days during the interview and also with my temp agency.  My temp agency had talked to the supervisor and was told that they were not hiring at the time. In addition, I found out that no one in pain management for CSR position had ever been hired as a full time so no one really stays in that position. I also thought it was unethical for the manager to state to their employers( prospective or not) of being hired  and recieving benefits when they already knew it was not going to happen. Overall, I had a great experience here.

Corporate mentality does not demonstrate care or concern or their people, you are just a number

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not being acknowledged financially or on paper in reviews for taking on more responsibilities than your job description requires. If you can show you are capable of completing others tasks,  achieving  more administrative tasks that are not in your job description, or support other satellite facilities even to the extent of learning different job positions..you are not rewarded.  Reaching beyond your normal responsibilities becomes the expectation.
