I applied for the position of Healthcare Compliance Analyst at Integrated Home Care Services, Inc. (IHCS) through Indeed a little over a year ago.  I’m glad I made the decision to apply.  Since working here, I have learned so much about this organization and the wonderful services they provide to their patients.  I have a wonderful manager who communicates with me consistently and clearly throughout the day.  As a part of my orientation, I visited the different departments in IHCS to see how they contribute to making sure our patients receive essential care and medical equipment in the home environment.  I also have learned the corporate side of IHCS and have assisted in its expansion into multiple states.  I have learned how to write policies and procedures and how to be an active participant in different committee meetings.   As a member of the Compliance Department, it is part of my job to ensure that all regulatory and company guidelines are being followed by the organization and its employees.  Employees don’t view the Compliance Department as the “Company Police”, but rather as collaborators who help their departments strive to do better and make IHCS a better place to work.   The employees at IHCS welcomed me with open arms and willingly shared their knowledge with me so I could perform my job duties.  Employees, including myself, are happy to come to work here each day.  Senior Leadership communicates with employees and listens to employees’ suggestions on how to make IHCS even better than it already is.  IHCS is more than an organization; it is a family who cares about the well-being of their patients and their employees.  I highly recommend working at IHCS.

Since my first day at IHCS with my HR team and overall company I felt a sense of excitement and belonging to a wonderful team.  I really like how all the departments are divided in teams for each portion of patient care but also how all departments collaborate and work together for the goals and vision of the organization. I also appreciate the work the diversity of people and the environment/culture, everyone seems to get along and work together. There are colleagues who have been here for 5, 10, 15, 20 + years ,which speaks volume.  My HR team is very people orientated and welcoming. There are opportunities to grow within the company and departments. I've seen many internal hiring, transitions or promotions which means growth. The HR VP and directors are very open and fair. There is engagement for the employees such employee events, lunches, raffles, spirit week, etc. The company provides orientation and trainings for new hires an also continuous training for existing employees. Depending on the roles and productivity there is options for Hybrid roles which is work / life balance. The company is open to work/life balance as long as there are communication and accountability. Overall, the company is great, it is well established and continues to grow and have vision for both patient care and employees. I appreciate my Talent acquisition and HR. directors, superiors, and colleagues who motivate me (us) to keep learning and growing in the field. I am happy to be part of this diverse and goal orientated organization.

Working at this company has been one of the most frustrating and stressful work experiences I’ve had. The level of micromanagement is extreme and creates an environment where employees feel constantly monitored rather than trusted to do their jobs.

Management watches nearly everything you do throughout the day. Your time is tracked down to the minute, including how long you spend on calls, how often you step away, and even bathroom usage. Instead of focusing on productivity and employee wellbeing, the company seems more focused on controlling employees and creating pressure.

One of the most unreasonable policies is the restriction on bathroom breaks. Employees are essentially limited to a total of about 15 minutes for bathroom use throughout the entire workday, which is unrealistic and uncomfortable. Adults should not feel like they have to rush or worry about being penalized for taking care of basic needs.

The overall culture feels very rigid and stressful. There is little flexibility, and employees are constantly worried about attendance points, metrics, and being watched rather than being supported. This kind of environment leads to high stress levels and makes it difficult for employees to perform at their best.

Instead of building a positive workplace, the company’s approach often feels more like surveillance than management. Employees are treated more like numbers on a report rather than people.

I would strongly recommend that anyone considering working here research the work environment carefully before accepting a position. A workplace should respect employees and allow them reasonable autonomy, and unfortunately that has not been my experience here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Plenty of hours and there is overtime, too.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company does not care about what time you get home. Dispatchers keep adding on stops senselessly even if it is already very late and too far and no one will open the door to receive anything. Areas covered are really big  and the  company seems to have a policy of pushing orders on to the the HCT [drivers] to see if they do it. The raises on your salary depend on if you have not rescheduled orders which is impossible to do since there is no time to deliver that many orders they want. Organization is absolutely lacking, the route design or planning is crazy and the on call rotation is not how they initially tell the employee. Because drivers quit often the on call rotation can be every other week. When on call the driver gets even more stops and they can call you anytime even if you have done a long route and made it home at 11:30 pm which is very common when working for Integrated. There is no support for HCT drivers either. They give you phone numbers and account numbers and in case you have a problem you call and solve the problem yourself. I always wondered what would happen if the truck I drove would break in the middle of nowhere at night. And middle of nowhere is a place where you'll find yourself way many times working for them!

Everyone is connected by family/friends. Nobody has knowledge of what they are doing in they’re job.  Good luck! If you know too much they will not like you. If they don’t  like you then they’ll probably let you go. They gave me issues about my productivity even though I had met the productivity they still said I was under which made no sense. I defended myself in here and since I defended myself they seem to not like me, I also had knowledge about what I do and they hated me because of it. The people that train you don’t know anythingggg about they’re job. They will literally put anything to have the claim processed. There was many accounts written off especially the ones with a lot of money which for example $30,000 and I checked those accounts and no one did they’re job correctly to get the claim paid and still wrote it off. There’s a lot of fraud going on in there, they don’t audit they’re job correctly. I gave proof as to why I was low on my accounts because I was on hold with an insurance for a long time. I even gave access for the portal they never had! And they were always on hold for that insurance for a long time but since I got the portal for everyone, they seemed satisfied. Nobody said thank you. I tried to help out on this company but nobody seemed to care. 

I worked in the Home Health department. Upper management implemented so many changes that it created a lot of confusion. Recently, the department has become heavily micromanaged, which has put a great deal of pressure on the coordinators.

Coordinators are expected to meet productivity goals, attend multiple meetings, respond to emails, and ensure every case in their queue is processed on time. Balancing all of those responsibilities can be very difficult. It often feels like the focus is primarily on productivity metrics and numbers rather than the workload required to achieve them.

One of the biggest advantages of the Home Health department is the opportunity to work remotely, and my coworkers were supportive and pleasant to work with.

However, There are too many layers of management, including managers, supervisors, directors, and other leaders. This often creates confusion, as different people provide direction, and don’t seem to fully understand the day-to-day responsibilities and challenges coordinators face



My experience is based specifically on the Home Health Department. The job itself is actually very easy. If you’re organized, can multitask, and communicate well, you’ll catch on quickly. A typical day consists of processing referrals, communicating with providers and home health agencies, obtaining missing documentation, and ensuring authorizations are completed accurately and on time.
Unfortunately, the work isn’t the difficult part the management and leadership make it much harder than it needs to be. Expectations change without clear communication, training is inconsistent, and support from leadership is lacking. I was promoted to Team Lead but was never given clear day-to-day responsibilities or the opportunity to fully grow into the position. Additional work was assigned without proper training while production expectations continued to increase.

I started working for the company around a month ago. throughout this experience, I felt that I wasn't given a proper opportunity to show my interest in the company. for example, after training (even after extension) they wouldn't let me do anything independently, despite having my own personal logins. after finally having an opportunity to be on the floor, one of my supervisors after the second day explained that it was easy to fire me that same day that I was terminated for "being too slow, or lack of engagement with the pts" even though they stated that any mistakes wouldn't be held against trainees for 2 weeks being on the floor also holding the quota of 65 calls a day. I wasn't allowed to grab my personal belongings while in the office. When I wanted to talk to the same supervisor, they happened to slam the door in my face! I was humiliated because they were aware of my situation with the commute to work along with them guaranteeing that I could have the remote position. I never want to feel what I felt at any workplace! 

I have worked at Integrated Home Care Services for about two years now, and I am so happy to be working here. The managers here at integrated are all very kind and understanding and treat the employees very well. When I got hired for my position, I had limited experience in the health field, but the managers and trainers set me up for success and made sure I had everything I needed to do well. The managers and employees communicate and coordinate with each other to solve any issues and address any concerns. I appreciate how comfortable I feel talking to my coworkers and my management team. A huge green flag for working here was that all of the employees were happy to work here and welcomed me easily, as opposed to other jobs in which the employees are not happy to be there. Working as a full-time employee includes great benefits such as health insurance and a lot of PTO. I have also made great friendships with many of my coworkers.

Working at IHCS has been a very positive experience. The company provides excellent training and makes sure you understand the systems and procedures before handling calls on your own. Management and team leads are supportive, approachable, and always willing to help when you need guidance.

The environment is fast-paced, but everyone works together to meet goals and help clients. I’ve learned a lot about the healthcare industry, insurance processes, and communication skills that will help me in my career. The pay is fair, the hours are consistent, and the team atmosphere makes coming to work enjoyable.

Overall, IHCS is a great place to build experience, grow professionally, and be part of a company that truly values its employees and the customers they serve. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stable and rewarding job in customer service.
