A typical day at work is generally 10 hours from 6 AM to 4:30 PM. The hardest part of the job was that management pushed for overtime constantly after working these long hour days. Management was not very receptive at times when you tried to turn down the overtime. The workplace culture was productive and relatively friendly.  
While some of the management was willing to listen to concerns it only takes one  to ruin everything. I was Unjustifiably reprimanded by one Supervisor for doing a poor paint job that another worker had done.   Even after being told that I Not the one that had done the Job I was assigned A task that involved working Outside in temperatures below 32° washing down The building without proper work attire. at the end of the day, after completing my job, the supervisor told me that I did not need to come back. I filed for unemployment, stated the facts of my case and after it was investigated my unemployment was granted.  I had really hoped that this would be a place where I could continue to grow my future as an industrial painter but due to the mistreatment of one supervisor Those hopes came to an end.

As an intern, they dedicated the first two weeks to teaching us a lot about electricity. This was awesome, as we were paid and got to learn a lot about how electricity works and how how to use that knowledge in the work force. I spent each day either assembling or disassembling mechanical parts, fabricating electrical distribution buildings from the ground up, fabricating and wiring electrical distribution panels from the ground up, using power tools, and managing and cleaning a shop. The culture was definitely competitive, but maintained a warm and inviting work place. The hardest part of the job was that it was very physically taxing. Not only would I be walking, crouching, and maneuvering around a lot of stuff all day, but I would be using a lot of energy doing things such as lifting and drilling holes in metal. The most enjoyable part about the job was watching something start out as a few sheets of metal turn into a 200-400 square foot building, or seeing a finished panel, wired with hundreds of connections.

Have you ever wanted to sell your soul for pennies on the dollar we’ll look no further than intermountain electronics. They’ll also provide you with a supervisor who will be paid an exorbitant amount all to make sure you go home each and every day with a little less of a will to live. You also won’t have to worry about climbing the corporate ladder because unless your related to someone or know how to give great under desk services you’ll never have to worry about a promotion. The best part of the company though is the fantastic HR team they really know how to make sure you get screwed for the companies benefit time and time again. So yes if you are contemplating suicide but can go through with it due to your last sliver of a will to live I highly recommend applying because they will be sure to take that from you.

If you are looking for a company that will challenge you and give you opportunities to grow in your career then this is the place.  If you are looking for a wide range of projects in multiple growing markets then this will be a good fit for you.  Working at IE is challenging at times due to the wide range of customers that we work with and the different markets we serve, but if you are willing to be flexible and work with the team then you will enjoy working at IE.  
IE is a great place to start a career, gain experience, and retire. 
The owners of this company really care about their employees and customers.  They continually push Sr. Leadership members to make improvements and investments in their people, and are not focused on "just making money."  
The company continues to grow and with that growth comes lots of great changes and great opportunities.

Intermountain Electronics is the best company I have worked for. IE has a lot of talented engineers working throughout the company. They take the job seriously & provide opportunities to learn daily on the job. The company is top notch from the owners to the laborers. If you can not work here and advance it is because you haven't tried. They allow you on the job training with the potential to work up to the next level. I started as a minimum wage laborer part time in high school. I was very lucky to attend college on one of IE's scholarships and continued to work there in the summer as an intern. As soon as I graduated I applied for a engineering position and have never regretted it. I now provide for my wife and family and enjoy the benefits of working for a company that rewards hard work. ~ Thanks IE

A typical day at work involves wondering what your next project is going to be and bothering people for work. Then when you get a project you are rushed through it while battling the slowest computer network I have seen in the last 10 years. Management is non-existent, and when they show up it is to pound you with questions and ask where things are with little understanding of your issues. Co-workers are all hired based on nepotism, and are not very experienced with related work outside of this company giving them a narrow view. The hardest part of this job is being accepted into the company as part of the team. It is very old school there and there is a lot of unsafe practices. Hours are long, and there is no compensation for the long hours, personal life is not valued at this company. The most enjoyable part of this job was leaving.

This company has many improvements to make when it comes to their employees. Our pay is not balanced well. They promise you things and never follow up. They are cheap in everything they buy including tools and materials yet they expect million dollar quality. It's a very political company where playing the game is the only way to make it anywhere. Hardwork is not rewarded and neither is pride in your work. Shifts are long a grueling and they have cameras up so they can chew you out for taking a water break. Lots of time spent on the floor and no protective gear provided. Engineers are the worst I've ever worked with. They are lazy and dont do their jobs well enough for us to build a building. Safety is a maybe in this shop.

Intermountain Electronics is a place where people go to work. Not to hang out with ping-pong tables and swap Star-Wars what-if scenarios. I loved that everyone there was working to move the company forward by doing their jobs with no slackers in sight. The management is committed to moving the company forward by providing the best product in their marketplace and works very hard to make sure they provide excellent quality in the products they manufacture. I may not have gotten along with everyone, but I did respect almost every one I met at IE. Management provides good compensation and good health benefits.

This is a growing company that has continued to grow year over year for over 30 yrs now.  You should expect to work hard here, but the ownership and management teams value their employees and invest back into them through compensation and job security.  If you are looking for an easy ride this won't be the place for you, but if you are looking for a company you can truly make a difference in then check out IE.  I have worked at many large public companies in the past, but none have made me feel more like part of the family while at the same time pushing my limits like IE has.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
2-3 hours OT everyday, never allowed to take a lunch or break.  Supposed to work every other Friday want every Friday and Saturdays. You have no home life to offer your family. They don't listen to suggestions to make processes more streamlined.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If your not apart of the club,  your basically a nobody.  If you bring up ideas your blown off.  If you have a medical concern. They don't want to hear about it.
