What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working here is gaining exposure to a fast-paced environment and building experience across multiple responsibilities. There are also hardworking employees and some supportive managers within the organization who genuinely try to help despite broader organizational challenges.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is the constant increase in workload and responsibilities without adequate compensation, support, or staffing. Poor communication between departments, lack of alignment across teams, and frequent disconnects between leadership decisions and frontline realities create ongoing frustration and inefficiency. Over time, the combination of burnout, low morale, and lack of meaningful change can become mentally exhausting.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The workplace culture is fast-paced, high-stress, and often disconnected across departments. Teams tend to operate in silos, communication can be inconsistent, and employees are frequently expected to take on increasing workloads without corresponding support or compensation growth. Morale and retention are ongoing challenges, and many employees eventually become burned out or disengaged due to the lack of meaningful organizational change.

When I was there, there was a lot of politics, from leadership teams in the C suites to staff. Even HR director and the CEO were heavily political in my experience. Pharmacy staff were reporting each other to thr board. They struggled finding a pharmacy director and a medical director. 

When I accompanied my family member there to get cared for there was no patient privacy. Temperatures were being taken right out in the middle of the hallway and patient conditions were spoken of right there in front of other staff members who weren't even part of the care team and other patients might have been able to hear it too. There were times when I witnessed staff yelling at elderly patients. Overall, not a good environment for patients or employees. It might have changed over the years but that was my experience then. 

I very much enjoy working at ICHS. A typical day for me includes accepting tasks from the inbox, processing referrals, and contacting facilities.  I speak with patient's daily and help them in any way possible to ensure their medical needs are met. I frequently call insurance companies on behalf of patient's and family members. The hardest part and most enjoyable part of the job are one in the same. When things do not work out for patient's for whatever reason, could be insurance issues or issues with the facility it is hard sometimes to get the patient to understand. But on the other hand when things work out it is one of the best feelings ever.

I enjoyed researching and developing International Community Health Services (ICHS) healthcare Compliance plan.  I worked with legal counsel to confirm the policies and procedures I developed.  I trained staff on the content of these healthcare compliance policies and procedures, and audited corporate compliance.  The people I worked with were talented and devoted.  Compliance with healthcare rules and regulations often requires change and that is not always easy.  But being part of the culture at ICHS was very rewarding.

The internal or management culture is reactive to problems, as opposed to proactive. HR will give wrong info, and you finally figure that payroll forgot to process your medical opt—in, there is no hand soap for days in the bathroom, someone dumps their chicken bones in the lunchroom sink everyday, staff constantly quit after receive training so you constantly train someone who doesn’t stay. The effective leaders always leave after a draining stint so there is a constant void of institutional knowledge and leadership. The vultures who don’t do anything they stay on forever.  It’s a house of cards.

If you enjoy being underappreciated, having the manager taking credit for your hard work, not having ethics understood or appreciated, and being managed by unqualified, uneducated and dictators, this is the right place. You can meet some good people but revenue cycle management in particular is grotesquely appalling. Anyone who is a certified biller or certified coder is already more educated than the revenue management. The mission is great but misleading in the organization's management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
People in management roles that don't understand the team roles that they oversee. Lack of support from executive leadership and HR. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I can't speak for all locations within the organization but management where I work resembles a dictatorship.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and spent defending your role.

For non-clinical staff, expect to be the scapegoat for all the woes of everyone's experience. Patients, Doctors, and Managers are all disappointed in the level of care and lack of respect and trust they provide each other. Prepare to be second-guessed, gaslit, and ultimately blamed when anything "goes wrong." They lure you in with promises that things will "get better" but they won't. The C-Suite is completely out of touch and does nothing to support their staff, except by accepting their resignations.

This organization has given me nothing but  frustration and feeling of being stuck with no motivation or encouragement for professional development. In fact, i have felt the opposite with the management. I have been denied multiple times of further trying to improve my knowledge of my profession. You would think that they would appreciate me and consider me an asset to the company. The people I worked with were not friendly and only some were approachable.

If you are Asian with low self-confidence, it is an OK job to start with. Many managers coming going, policies are being made up on the fly so they can find a way to write you up. 

They (Managers)  are doing the thing on the crocked side because they think workers are so dumb to see what's going on. 

If you don't know Chinese or Vietnamese, they will talk about you in front of your face, and not much you can do about it. 

Nepotism does strive here.  Little money they give, they think they pay you gold.
