Working at Interpath is absolutely awful. Management is never around. When you need support, there is hardly ever anyone willing to help you, let alone be nice about helping. Extremely negative energy, very cut throat. Full of nasty, bitter, two faced employees. You say one thing, in a normal tone, and by the end of the chitter chatter string you called everyone nasty things and said they sucked at this or did that wrong. Ridiculous. Management believes lies and ignores real problems. High turn over in employees (not surprising). You do not get enough training before being thrown and tossed all over the map to fill all the holes in staffing. Management does not care about your needs. They make promises or say things and then never come through on them. You don't have a set schedule, hours and locations vary widely, schedules are changed almost daily so you can't plan anything. You have to give a month's notice if you need time off, but management does not give you notice when changing the schedules. Just stay away from this place. I have high tolerance for a lot, really good at brushing things off. But this place will absolutely drain you to nothing. Never has a job made me feel so low and worthless at the end of every shift. They don't care about all the hard work you do, and how many responsibilities youtake on during the day, they will always find something nasty to say. Positive reinforcement does not exist here. They wait for the tiniest slip and blow it up.

I worked at Interpath Labs as someone new to the phlebotomy field, and overall my experience was very disappointing. I did not feel welcomed or supported by management or my team. The training period felt extremely short—only about two weeks—which did not seem sufficient given how much there is to learn and memorize in this role.

Throughout my time there, I constantly felt rushed and under pressure, and when I made mistakes, it felt like there was little understanding or patience from management. Instead of being supported as a new employee, I felt criticized for not meeting expectations that didn’t seem realistic for someone still learning.

Additionally, the workplace environment felt unprofessional at times. While I was in the break room, I overheard coworkers speaking negatively about me, including comments expressing surprise that I had returned. Experiences like that contributed to a very uncomfortable and discouraging atmosphere.

Ultimately, I chose to leave because my mental health is more important than staying in a workplace that felt toxic and unsupportive. I believe there is a need for improved training, better communication, and a more respectful and encouraging environment for new employees.

If you are a highly skilled, capable medical lab scientist, do not bother to work here. You will be subject to an odd management system, where you are supervised by someone with no technical expertise. Those that are like minded and speak your technical language will be located off site and you will have to call them to receive any feedback on technical "how do we do this here" questions. You will not receive the answers from in house managers, as they are not trained as lab scientists. Pay and benefits will also be below industry standards as well. There will be times that you will feel overworked without the recognition and kudos that you deserve as an MLS.
However, if you are newer to the profession and have less than 5-10 years experience, this may be a good opportunity to grow and learn as well as how to be self sufficient, as you will have to rely on your own expertise.

Phlebotomy has been one of my passions for nearly a decade. Initially receiving the offer, I was excited for the opportunity to continue serving patients and collaborating with dedicated team members. However, there were several recurring issues that made even my high passion dwindle. One of the most concerning aspects was the management approach. Expectations often contradicted established company policies and employees were frequently told to “do as your told” crating confusion and undermined trust. Shifts were lined out but frequently not followed. It was common to have to stay longer than scheduled which proved nearly impossible to have a work life balance. Additionally, when problems arise, they were rarely approached with the mindset of collaboration or resolution. There was a tendency of shifting blame onto employees rather than address the root cause. This created a stressful environment and staff often felt unsupported and undervalued. 

1ST OFF- I LOVE MY DIRECT MANAGER and ALL my TEAMMATES.
2ND- HOWEVER INTERPATH DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THEIR MANAGERS OR THEIR PHLEBOTOMISTS. They only care abut their MED TECHS and CLIENTS.
3RD- INTERPATH WOULD RATHER WATCH YOU SINK AND FAIL (and then blame it on their managers/phlebotomists- yet they NEVER give you the support you need from the HIGHER-UPS to do your job effectively/efficiently).
4th-  INTERPATH SEEMS TO ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING THEIR "CLIENTS" HAPPY AND SATISFIED, RATHER THAN THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES. 
5th- They expect their managers to find their own coverage for their sites when they are out sick with COVID. Their managers are expected to work when they are sick.  Which shows us that Interpath does show TEAMWORK. 
6th- If you are a hourly employee ; your work/life balance is great.... however if you are a salary employee; your work/life balance is non-existent. 

I worked here for close to a year, management was not checking in on their employees, employees are unable to take time off unless they want to use their PTO, no sick time available, employees will need to use PTO if they are to take a sick day. Management would go weeks without talking to you and then come and check on you out of the blue in hopes that you were not doing your job. It was a hard place to work. Management would move employees to sites that they knew they didn’t like to work at to punish them if they did or said something that management didn’t like. There was friendship in upper management, employees are unable to confide in upper management at all without word getting out. Employees who work hard and do their job seem to be overlooked based on the fact that their site is running well and there’s no complaints from the clients. 

I have worked here for many years and have seen how poor management can really destroy an employees love for their job. When I first started working here, everything was great and there was little micro management and I felt supported.  Now that we have new management, staff is no longer supported and blame is consistently put on lab staff when anything goes wrong. I have seen people get fired for going in medical leave, and when they come back the get told they were fired for some ridiculous reason.  They have hired people who are not the right person for the job just to get someone in. They run out their good employees because this job has nothing good to offer. If you see that they are hiring, I would say at least until management changes or they get better support for their employees, to stay far far away from this place.

I have worked here for over 3 months, this is my first phlebotomist job and I love it! I love coming to work every day and being part out a great team! I get to learn everything about the job I work hard and it truly pays off. The pay is also great! For a first time phlebotomist the pay everyone where was about 5 dollars less! We work hard but we also love being together and have a great time at work. Its a relaxed atmosphere. I started right out of college and working here I have been able to learn a lot and their is a lot of room for me to move up. They are very family oriented, I have 4 kids and things happen, they are flexible. I would recommend working here if you are looking to form amazing relation ships with coworkers and to be able to learn a lot of new things.

The management in the lab (specifically in Microbiology and Processing) expect you complete more work than is possible in an 8 hour day. They have a HUGE pay gap between Medical Lab Techs and Technical Assistants, but they expect both titles to do the same amount of work. Accordingly, the lab managers have no management backgrounds which makes the culture here even worse. Many employees here believe that management needs to be replaced with people who have experience with managing employees. To add light to this review, I do love my coworkers and I believe they should be treated with equity. It's hard to see them being harassed by our managers.

Busy work place. The hardest part is having a manager who doesn’t  understand what you do in your work, therefore not being helpful or sympathetic when you encounter issues at work. Certain employees become powerful due to partiality, not everyone is treated equally.  It appeared that employees were encouraged to watch and tattle-tell about others.  Yes, there’s that”good ole boy culture”. I also learned that there’s a pattern: the company is heartless-they lured you in when they needed you, and kick you out in a heartbeat once they could get someone younger, though less experienced, but cheaper to replace you- without explanation!  
The most enjoyable part of the job is being productive and getting job done well.
