I have been working for Iris Memory Care of Rowlett since they opened their doors 5 years ago this month. I have personally been in the industry for 17 years and was a Caregiver/Med Tech for the majority of that time. I started off with Iris as a part-time Caregiver/Med Tech and was given the opportunity to go into Management as the Activity Director. I was so excited for the opportunity of growth, and thrilled that the company took a chance promoting me. I am now the Community Relations Director and with 100% certainty feel fully confident in promoting our business to potential clients and residents due to my firm belief in Iris- our Management Team, Owners, and Care staff. Their willingness to allow and promote internal growth as well as their desire to truly serve the clientele we serve. I am truly very proud to say that I work for Iris. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents deserve so much more than what they receive

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Always being understaffed. And seeing people get hired with no dementia knowledge. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It could be so much better if numbers weren't the only thing that concerns them.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Would rather not say. The day is what you make it

Nothing really they suck and they benefits  suck also .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Under staff.they don't care for they staff unless they staff kissing tail

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's very diverse. It's a little bit of agriculture. That environment is very hostile at. They have mean girls there.

Working at Iris has been a pleasant experience. My co-workers are the best! They don't hesitate when it comes down to working as a team to ensure our residents have the best quality of care. The management team has an open door policy and they do their best to make sure their employees are heard. Working in this homelike environment has really made my time here feel like I'm apart of the Iris family.:)

The community where I work, we are close like family. We help each other through stressful times and we disagree too. We have our challenges but we keep trying to work through them. I love working with this company. The company is small compared to other companies I have  worked for. The company is personable and resident satisfaction driven. Quality of care is the utmost importance.

Only been here two months and I hate it. Some part of management is nice, but overall, they do not care about you. Every day is full of coworkers gossiping, feeling judged, and verbal (sometimes physical) abuse from residents. There's unrealistic standards from people who have never been in the position in the first place. Not enough pay for such a bad job.

Long term care can be a really toxic environment to work in, but I think Iris does a good job of taking care of the team. Our residents have fun activities, good food, and are well cared for. The management team makes an effort to be honest and involved. And I like that the owners' goal is to keep the company small. It's nice too that even as a small company, we have a whole suite of benefits. 

One thing I love about Iris is the team work! Just ask for the help and so many are willing to help. The open communication helps with day to day tasks. The small home like feeling with residents and staff makes me feel good about my job! I enjoy coming to work! 

(Edmond location) One of the best places I've worked at so far. The bosses truly care for the residents, the families, the staff, and the buildings. It is overall very clean. The bosses listen to us when we have a concern. It has its ups and downs like any nursing facility of course but it is definitely one of the nicer places for sure. 

Iris senior living is a tremendous company to work for. I love working here because the administration is very welcoming and caring, they pay attention to your complaints and make sure you are taken care of. They have awesome benefits, the workplace is very friendly ,  loving, caring, understanding and enthusiastic one. I will recommend this company to all the caregivers out there.
