Going thru the interview the job and facility is made to look very professional, once your in you find that is not true at all. Dress codes are not adhered to, the eating at desk is not followed ( snack allowed-not a smorgasbord), lack of training(watching slides and people reading to you is not training), people doing the training unable to answer questions that you have and never get back to you about those questions. Management is non existent, supervising staff never available plus ( all contact people go to lunch at same time). Management sends e-mails regarding late punches, that aren't your timecard, messaged for being late when once again not my timecard.  Emails by management sent, not proof read or spell checked, some made no sense at all.Not a welcoming place to work, get in-get to your desk-get on your phone, certain people allowed to communicate with other employees, other than that you are on your phone for the eight hours you are there, records kept so they know how long each phone call has taken and when you are on and off your phone. You are also monitored when you leave your desk, need to card out and in everytime you step outside the office. You are given a time limit to complete your task , not always able to stay within that limit due to questions by callers and lack of training, your answering phone call after phone call with no 2 minute follow up time because other staff forward calls to the other extensions. Called out for being late ( 1-5 minutes) when there was multiple construction going on, told we should no traffic patterns, we all known construction on the roads is difficult to maneuver in the best circumstances, if it was on a consistent basis yes, once in awhile you need to give people a break, they are at least showing up for work, unlike the numerous call ins.  Always short staffed, turnover unbelievable. Was really hoping that this job was going to be a great fit, love helping people, but this was a giant disappointment!!!

Manager at the Indiana office docks your pay if she deems you are not productive enough while clocked in.  Preferred employees get time off requests approved while others do not. The pay is very little for the workload assigned. Training in most departments is being shown how to do something once then being thrown to the wolves. Very stressful environment and management gossips often about employees but provide no support. No supervisors available to transfer patients to when they ask for a supervisor or management. Yearly raises you'll get 2-4% and it won't be given until your annual review, which management takes months to schedule. 40 PTO hours max first year after 90 days, then 80 hours per year affer one year. One health plan with high deductible. Remote work, you provide your own equipment (phone, computer, wifi) at your own cost. Very little work life balance. Mandatory overtime is required. Vision insurance that is only accepted at one optical. This place often has IT issues on their side that will prevent you from working and getting paid, IT tickets go unanswered for days or weeks, but if your wifi goes down you are expected to report to work in the office within an hour or two. Constant phone and fax issues that leave employees, customers, doctors offices frustrated and unable to communicate effectively. High turnover. This could be a great company if management listened to feedback and cared.

The workforce is made up of talented and hardworking individuals. Many employees are dedicated and bring valuable skills to the company.

The company is open and accepting, making it a  stepping stone for those looking to gain experience before moving 

Poor Work Environment & Culture: The company lacks a strong identity and struggles with defining its culture. There is minimal investment in improving the workplace, which negatively impacts morale.

Lack of Growth Opportunities: Advancement within the company is extremely limited. Instead of promoting from within, leadership often looks outside for candidates, missing the opportunity to develop existing employees.

Low Compensation & Expensive Benefits: Pay is not competitive, and benefits are costly. There are little to no incentives for employees who go above and beyond.

Ineffective Training: Onboarding and training processes are poorly structured, making it difficult for employees to succeed, especially in roles requiring technical knowledge.

Lack of Accountability: Issues within the company, from executives down to employees, are often ignored or not properly addressed. Leadership does not take meaningful action to improve processes or workplace conditions.

Underappreciated Workforce: The company does not do enough to recognize or reward its employees. Many dedicated workers put in significant effort without receiving the appreciation or support they deserve.

There are no policies that protect the Members or the CSR’s employed by this company. With no regard for human decency, best business practices, or business integrity it is a miracle J&B Medical is still Incorporated or in Business. There is no real Leadership or Escalation process in place, you have other CSR’s working Assistance Emails instead of Leadership or a dedicate team that only handles AE’s. When assistance is needed from CSR’s to Leadership the process is the same as Conveyor Belt, We must go through strenuous questions back and forth only to be directed to send an assistance email because they never want to take/handle escalated calls or issues. The medical documentation process is poorly setup where it’s a constant impediment for member’s to obtain medical supplies due to Documents in the Document Generator needing a severe update.
As I conclude, I really hope that is email is read thoroughly and someone tries to make a change, not for the benefit of this company but for the members and employees. The employees work relentlessly to keep this company going, and there are no incentives, bonuses, or any pay-scale increase discussed after being hired. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE BESIDES LEADERSHIP THAT WOULD DISAGREE WITH WHAT I’VE WRITTEN ABOUT THIS COMPANY.


The job itself was not bad.  If you like to work in a chaotic atmosphere, like being underpaid and have no chance for advancement, this is the place for you.  You are expected to basically work when you are off the clock.  Micro-management is the name of the game...  Management will call you on the weekend at the most inconvenient time and harass you about things you already know.  They will also get upset if you don't drop everything when they call you.  They will also designate "spies" who pretend to be your friend, but will turn around and "give a bad report."  You are expected to do things you were never trained to do.  They love to hire family and friends and pay them a decent wage while everyone else is underpaid.  They fire people on a regular basis.  For customer service representatives, they have a 60 - 65% turnover rate.  If you don't kiss major you know what, you will not last long here...  They also like to deny people unemployment and will lie through their teeth...  The biggest problem with this place is the trust factor.  The lack of management structure will drive anyone insane.  Everyone is deemed incompetent (unless you are family or friend.)  They have some very shady business practices and try to "get around" things.  This is definitely the worst company I have ever worked for.

These people are the absolute worst!  I don't even know where to begin....
You'll make it through the interview/job offer/hiring process pretty quickly if you have a pulse.  However, if you have a pulse and a working brain, 1) you'll quickly realize this is the epicenter of evil and 2) be targeted for being smarter than your superiors (who are intimidated by critical thinkers because they were only promoted for demonstrating the same questionable behavior the company promotes). If you can dodge this and make it to a year (very few do), you'll 1) be lucky to get a decent raise with an excellent review and 2) need some pretty heavy psychological counseling or medication to deal with the extremely dysfunctional and hostile work environment.  "Professionalism, competency, decency, compassion, honesty, tact, and humanitarian" are not in their vocabulary.  Seriously, this company does not believe in a proactive, preventative approach.  What they do believe in is throwing employees in with little to no training and then putting out the fires with the biggest flames.  Your days will be spent having meetings about meetings while some of the most vulnerable of people, their disabled/elderly/under aged patients, go with out supplies.  If you can stomach this, they'll make you a team lead or a manager.

Mostly we help people get their medical supply needs. There are two main  departments in our office. The front end and the back end. The front end does the initial things such as getting basic information of the customer and what they need. They also send the initial prescription to the doctor's office if needed, etc. The back end follow's up with the doctor's office make sure prescriptions are correct and if additional documentation is needed they request it.  If prior authorization is needed for supplies the back end makes the request and submit it, etc.   There is a lot more to the job but that's the basic things that are done. I do some of both the front end and the back end. 

I've learned a lot about the durable medical equipment business. 

Management can be pretty helpful for the most part. Is there room for improvement I would say yes but I guess I could say that about all of us. 

The workplace is very diversified with different races and cultures. 

The hardest part of my job at times, could be the training and there is always something new to learn which is the good part. 

I  would say the most enjoyable part of my job is helping the members, the people I work with and learning new things.

Low pay, high stress.  Unbelievable turnover rate.  This company is all about quantity (calls answered) not quality of work.  Training is the worst I've ever seen and they put new employees on the phone before they're even close to knowing the basics - new employees transfer the customer back into the other phone queue so that another employee can help them.  All they care about is having the phones answered and they don't care if the member receives their medical supplies on time.  Management is very hard to contact (especially working from home during Covid).  Management was constantly informing us that we need to get everything done quickly while on the phone with member so that we can take the next call - our wrap-up time was very limited (about 1-2 minutes, but most of the time, we had no wrap-up time and were logged in to take next call before being able to finish everything required on previous account).  Received different answers when asking management or fellow co-workers questions.  If you don't care about helping people obtain their medical supplies on time and you just want to "pass it onto someone else to clean up", this is the job for you.  It's not a job for someone that cares about others.

company culture is absolutely horrible - there is no such thing as work-life balance. overtime is MANDATORY 5-10 hours a week (this flexes, depending on how understaffed and behind they are.) they choose to make overtime mandatory because they do not have the space in the building or parking lot to hire the employees they really need to effectively run the company.
they are non-compliant with Medicare's requirements in their hiring and firing practices - their turnover is ridiculous. compensation is a joke. when i was there, they were hiring people in for the same position as me at a higher wage than what i made after 6 years there. they offer VERY little by way of time off and fire people for being 1 minute late more than 3 times. i worked my tail off and was among the most knowledgeable people in the building but was never recognized either with a title or with a raise.
management/leadership is awful. there's drama constantly, and management actually makes it worse by having constant meetings about employee's personal issues. "rules" are not applied to everyone consistently - if you are a "favorite", you get away with whatever while other people are fired for less.
I would NEVER go back to this place, no matter how much they offered me.

I was not told up front that you HAVE work a mandatory 4 hours of overtime a week. I was looking for a 40 hr /wk or less position. The ad reads OT  when needed, Saturdays when needed.  That need is every week.  The people are friendly & those in the building will help you to learn, but there is a lot to learn and they keep adding more to your workload.  The trainers are remote & it is hard to get questions answered quickly. To ask them you have to use a message system.  The company is in the middle of a change merging departments.  Would I recommend working here... Well only if you can adapt VERY QUICKLY.  They want a lot from there staff, more than what they are willing to pay. ADD another $4 to the pay/hr & they might have more people stay. Turn over is high.   AND OH YA BRING YOUR WINTER COAT!  Even in the middle of summer, the building is freezing cold.
