My experience with this company was unfortunately not a positive one, largely due to poor management practices. Employee voices are not heard, and concerns raised by staff—whether related to patient care or workload—tend to be overlooked or dismissed.

Office staff are consistently overworked, constantly sent out into the field to see patients while still being expected to complete their full administrative workload. There is no support offered by management to help balance these competing demands.

For field workers, be prepared for excessive travel regardless of your originally assigned area. The company is perpetually short-staffed, which leads to burnout and unreasonable expectations being placed on employees.

Turnover is extremely high. Many of the most dedicated and experienced employees have left, often after advocating for better working conditions for both staff and clients. Appreciation for hard work is rare, and efforts to speak up or improve the workplace are often met with resistance or retaliation.

This environment is not sustainable or supportive. I would advise job seekers to consider other opportunities where staff wellbeing and professional input are genuinely valued.


I worked in hospice and honestly the only good part of the job was the patients and families. Everything else was frustrating because of management. Scheduling was always getting changed around and half the time it didn’t even make sense for field staff. It made it hard to actually give good care and build consistency with patients. You can definitely tell management doesn’t get in the field. Management doesn’t really listen to the people actually out in the field. We would give feedback and try to explain what wasn’t working, especially since families can be very particular about who comes in to care for their loved ones, but it would just get ignored. Or they would say they’d fix things and NOTHING would change. It also felt like they cared more about saving money and limiting time with patients than actually letting staff do their job properly. You were constantly rushed or not given enough time to do proper care. Overall I wouldn’t recommend working here at all. Management is disconnected from the field and it shows. The staff is left without support and things are poorly organized. The patients and families are great, but the company itself makes the job unnecessarily stressful. All around it just wasn’t a good work environment. I would definitely think twice before applying here

The field staff are great, but the management is very poor. Turn over is extremely high in all positions. The company does a great job at interviewing and portraying a positive culture, until you hire on and see the real side. There are a lot of unexpected terminations without reason/cause when the budget gets tight. Nobody's position is safe at this company no matter how long you have been there. The CEO is extremely degrading and speaks down to employees. There is no open door policy, like they portray. They will hire someone to replace you and then force you to term your employment or go PRN. When things get tough, they have a knee-jerk response and make important decisions on a whim without thinking it through. Everyone wears multiple hats with unfair pay compared to other agencies. You put in many, many hours than what you are compensated for. I would not recommend this company to a friend. This company is not worth your time nor energy. 

This company has a very toxic work environment.  Management can not be trusted.   
Management is a group of mean girls club.  They do not care about their workers.   They promise you stuff when they hire you, but do not follow through with it.  The health insurance is not good.  
Turnover in this company is like a rotating door.   Many of the long time dedicated employees have chosen to leave, which speaks volumes about the work environment. 
Management is not receptive to employee concerns or suggestions for improvement.  Rather than valuing feedback from experienced staff, employees feel unheard and unappreciated.  
Based on my experience, I would not recommend working for this company.   Management would benefit from additional training in communication, employee engagement, and recognizing the contributions of staff.  Creating a culture where employees feel respected and appreciated would go a long way toward improving morale and retention.  Until then I would run from this company.  

I felt strongly this company was super supportive of work- life balance and encouraging growth within the company when I was hired. It was a contributing factor when I chose to accept the offer I was given. Mngnnt was also very supportive and communicative.  I rather enjoyed working here and everything was great for the first 6 months. 

Unfortunately poor decisions were made with which candidates they chose to fill supervisory roles and due to my personal values and work ethics of ALWAYS putting my patients and their needs first; It sadly didn't reflect the priorities of the mngmnt. 

The values and ideation the owner has are commendable and I genuinely saw it reflected in the care the staff provided our patients at first. It's frustrating to see it shift over time and frankly I simply needed to make employment changes to a company that has values you can see and support as they align better with the patients care. 

Actions speak louder then words. 

I have been with JOL Healthcare for five years, and my experience has been very positive. The company is supportive of its employees and is proactive about staffing. Rather than overloading existing staff with patient visits, leadership works to have job requisitions in place in anticipation of growth, which helps maintain a manageable workload.

Compensation is based on both experience and the local market pay rates, making the pay structure fair and competitive. One thing I appreciate most is that the company does not overpromise during the hiring process. Expectations are communicated clearly from the beginning, allowing employees to understand their roles and responsibilities.

Leadership is approachable, and concerns or issues are addressed promptly rather than being ignored. Overall, JOL Healthcare fosters a professional, supportive work environment that values both its employees and quality patient care.

This company does not value employees. They (management/CEO/owner) are forceful, crude and  lack accountability. JOL unfortunately values profit over compassion to its patients. They underpay staff and over work them. Majority of 5 star compliments are from past workers who do not work there anymore, therefore their high star rating is highly misrepresented. This company is far from 5 star, I would not even rate it a 2 star. Office staff are favorited and can work from home one day a week, LVNs  do not partake with on call schedule, administrators do not physically partake with on call schedules- leaving on call case managers to work 2 weeks straight. Leadership from the top to the clinical supervisors are poor quality. Turnover rates are high. 

Leadership style is autocratic, with limited transparency and little opportunity for collaboration.
Nepotism. Referrals that representatives worked hard to secure were frequently routed outside their designated territories to certain other reps., rather than assigned to the appropriate rep. it belongs to.
Significant and constant turnover across departments, especially within clinical staff. Heavy reliance on staffing agencies which impacts continuity of care and makes it difficult to sustain strong referral relationships. Sales expectations required all reps to meet a blanket goal of 10 referrals per month.

This company is one of the most toxic workplaces I’ve ever experienced. Employees are overworked, undervalued, and receive little to no recognition for their efforts. Leadership is inconsistent and unaccountable, and leads through intimidation rather than guidance. There is no real training or professional development, and the clinical care suffers because of it. The focus seems to be on assigning blame instead of building solutions or supporting the staff who keep things running. I would highly discourage anyone from working here until there is a complete change in leadership and culture.

I have never worked for a company that supports each other so much before. Whether it is encouraging each other to exceed goals or immediately answering a call to help out with an issue/general question, everyone works together as a team. If you feel you are struggling, instead of discouraging or punishing you, they will do whatever it takes to get you to where you need/want to be. They compensate their employees above market value which has shown me how much they truly value their employees hard work. I have had my fair share of job roles, but this one takes the cake on making me feel most valued!
