One thing stood out for me while working at this company and before I left was the benefits.  They did have competitive benefits when compared to the industry and nice year end bonus.  However, due to poor management at this location, I do not recommend it.  I was a dedicated, competent and hard-working employee.  That wasn't enough. While I was generally well liked by most of the people who worked there, another co-worker had a grudge against me and unfortunately they had the ears of the boss.  They played politics while I was just interested in getting the work done and going home each day.  Around me, I saw other people that were in similar situation too.  Either you were in the right crowd and you could do no wrong or you were not.  Pity those who were not.  Furthermore, we were expected to work long hours and that negatively impacted your family life.  Up to until I left, my days would be 10+ hours long.  Sometimes I didn't go home until 11:30 p.m. or past midnight and that was when my shift started at 11 a.m.!  My family was suffering, of course.  Was it enough?  Nope.  Even when your shift had ended and you stayed a couple of hours to help, that wasn't enough unless you stayed until the daily work was done, even though you were not the closer!  That was the kind of expectation you got.  Unfair treatment of co-workers, office politics, favoritism etc.  I could go on.  I left on my own when another opportunity presented itself but the place had gone through massive turnover in technicians, management and pharmacists.  I was not surprised.  I would not mind coming back to work for this company at this location but not until they have better management and better workplace culture in place, one that is fair, objective and caring about their employees.

The most challenging part of the job is dealing with the archaic computer system, it has been patched,reworked and is down so much it effects all workers' ability to perform their jobs causing undo stress, low moral, and frustration.  The main pharmacy is chaos from open to close because management does not respond to problems with solutions for long term operation.  Incoming employees are lucky to receive two weeks training with no standardization of information covered.  Management also believes the ability to manage does not depend upon the ability to know the responsibilities of the positions they are managing. The culture is that of constant dramas and low morale.  Low morale stems back to computer system, low wages, (most people there are working more than one job just to make ends meet), and frustration because the negative issues are not resolved.  "Company policies" are not enforced equally for all employees; nepotism and favoritism is the norm.  The individuals in management positions shouldn't even be considered qualified for the job, they are rude and disrespectful to the employees.  They speak "down" to the employees as though the employees are school children.

Benefits are largely paid by the employees.  The profit sharing is a joke; the manager will tell the individual they are receiving $1,000 profit sharing yet by the time it is taxed, the employee is lucky to receive half that amount.

As a certified pharmacy technician, I possess a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in my field. However, I have observed that the company permits pharmacy clerks to perform tasks for which I have received specialized training and certification. This practice diminishes the incentive for professional development, as the responsibilities typically assigned to certified technicians are being carried out by individuals without comparable qualifications.

I dedicated over a decade of service to this organization before taking a leave of absence due to a family health matter. Upon my return a year later, I was informed that my previous tenure would not be recognized, effectively requiring me to restart my career progression. I have since had to advocate for equitable compensation adjustments and educational reimbursement.

Furthermore, I am frequently assigned to operate a cash register for half of my shift, while an untrained clerk handles duties that fall within my area of expertise. My attempts to communicate these concerns to upper management have been consistently disregarded. I have also sought opportunities for additional training, such as in vaccine administration and first aid, for several months without receiving a response.
This company makes you feel undervalued and disregarded.

I Worked for over 4 years for Kinney Drugs as a Pharmacy Technician in different states. It got worse and worse and I was not full time. They over use their hard workers to the point where they are burnt out and don’t give consequences to the ones that don’t work.  The pay is minimal for the amount of work you do and for a pharmaceutical company. When people work at McDonalds and other fast food companies and are making more than what you do that’s sad. Also, there is no training here to better advancement opportunities and no advancement other than to work in another store or location. They hardly give full time positions to save money on paying insurance and vacation time and at the drug facility they want people to work ten hour shifts with no more money or differential pay at all. Along with working weekends and holidays without a differential pay. If they had this facility in a city no one would work there for the lousy pay and demand from a company that doesn’t care about their employees overall. The good thing is you do get discounts and a 100 dollar gift card for xmas but I think most people would rather have a week of vacation time to use and get paid for or benefits. Point blank, work for a fast food establishment you will make more money and gain benefits and more pay.

A good company that cant seem to get out of its own way.  They charged into PA with bags of money buying every LTC pharmacy in sight and then sent in their people, with all their policies and procedures blowing up the entire culture. A seasoned workforce that was already tired and stressed at the merger were left dealing with self centered, arrogant, ineffective,  management. If the goal is to build a loyal, capable, dedicated team they are failing. Some of the most accomplished Pharmacists and Techs have fled for the doors leaving a staff that is desperate to do the same. I believe the people at the very top are good but that is it, the rest are unable to motivate a loyal team which is essential for the company as well as the customers. There is no future at this company as turnover will continue to be high. I would not recommend this company unless management changes or you need a paycheck in between jobs.

Working for KPH has been the best experience ever. Manger is great, easy to go to when need assistance, everyone gets along. My days are spent on the phone, answering pt questions, talking to doctors office or verifying insurance. I love talking and getting to know the pt that come into the store. Makes me feel good knowing that I’m helping out, even if it’s for some so small. When they thank me for advocating for them it’s the best feeling. Hardest part of the job, is when we are waiting on documentation from providers and the pt get upset and angry, because I would love nothing more to be able to say “ okay here’s your wallet”. 

This is the worst company I have ever worked for. They promote a culture of negativity. They have spiraled out of control since pushing out good people last year. No effort to keep or acknowledge the good workers. Poor hiring of pharmacists who do not respect the technicians. Long hours continue.Poorly managed from the top down to facility manager who often leaves us when we are buried in work at the end of the day. No dedication. Poor example of leadership. Not motivating.
Corporate always has a "new plan" to help yet nothing gets better.
There are other places to work-go work there and save yourself the stress.

There was absolutely no training program . You learned by making mistakes and getting written up for med errors.Management is  unreasonable and very deceiving. They lie to you in your interview about scheduling and hours worked. After 'training period'  your hours are based on how many calls/ scripts you take. Its based on a metric system that is fairly judged. If you are not a favorite the nit pick every little thing. Morale among employees is very low. Very high turnover rate due to burn out. Worst place I have ever worked.

High turnover, not enough help right now and can't get anyone to apply.  Poor management - loud socializing by some employees or alot of socializing by some, which makes it hard to hear on phones. Others have said the same thing on the KPH reviews and HealthDirect Reviews for this Brookfield pharmacy about high turnover, poor management, and noisy. They need to get management in that has employees respect other employees who like it quiet when on the phone and focusing on work. Most places have it that socializing is for break time or when off work.

The management all except one, are unfair, untrustworthy, are not very professional. They engage and encourage gossip. They are very unfair especially to those with a disabilities or different ethnic back grounds. Top management puts on a good front but does not care about you as an individual, you are expendable. If you speak out against any of this they will find a way to terminate you or make you quite. They definitely have there favorites and don't put shade on showing it.
