The center I worked for was over all pretty good despite plasma centers normally being a stressful work environment. The managers I had and my coworkers worked well with each other and we were a team. Now the company as a whole is TERRIBLE! 6 days before Christmas the company's CEO's decided to lay all of us off and shut down our center so that really tells how petty the company is and how poorly they treat their workers. Our center and several other centers were shut down during the holiday season, they did not give us any notice of the mass lay offs, they requested all of us to attend a mandatory work meeting and refused to tell us what the meeting was about. My managers and coworkers and have families and mortgages and the company basically spat in our faces by doing this to us. KED Plasma is an absolutely horrible company to work for and I highly advise anyone to not work here!

Pros:
Good learning experience in a highly regulated industry with exposure to GMP standards and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Management expected high attention to detail and quality, which helped build strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Coworkers were generally knowledgeable and supportive, and there were opportunities to gain experience working cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams. Benefits and job stability were solid overall.

Cons:
Work-life balance could be challenging during busy production periods, with overtime sometimes expected on short notice. Communication between departments was occasionally inconsistent, leading to delays or confusion in daily operations. Advancement opportunities felt somewhat limited depending on department structure, and some processes could be slow to adapt due to strict compliance requirements and corporate bureaucracy.

I was included in all business meetings.
Able to voice my opinion on past due accounts.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
None it was a pleasure. The only stress was I had to leave temp assignment. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was excellent  I work mainly by myself when on site

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
1. go over my accounts check past over 60-120 days 
2. contact accounts payable inquire when to expect check
3. resolve any problems that is holding up my check
4. contact our European office speak with my leader there
5. Check with our salesperson to see what the application and prices time frame that customer supposed to get order.
Never had a problem with anyone my supervisor was veery supportive

At the Williamsville, NY location-Weak, Dictatorship, Dog eat dog mentality from Regional down to Donor Room. Mngrs make promises they won’t keep just to ease unpopular decisions. Mngrs openly speak in derogatory manner about staff in the presence of donors, vendors, & other non-involved staff. Mngrs will sacrifice any connections to advance themselves.   Getting personal days for illness, kids, sick parents, or leaving early for emergency school calls is frowned on and will be gossiped about for weeks by All Employees(including Mngrs). Work Culture is definitely divided by job classes influenced by race, religion, and economic standing(just a look through the bldg will show the LACK OF DIVERSITY).

Managing personnel, shipping and receiving activities.  

Manage pooling weekly production/pooling schedule and personnel on three shift and sanitation activities after pooling.

Daily SAP transaction and review of transaction for raw materials WIP inventory movements.  

Month end closing and inventory adjustment, removal of expired inventories and proper write ups.

Preparation and proper write off of fractions to be shipped overseas and contact of cold chain transportation company according to agreed lead times.

It is a fun place to work. Most of the people are generally fun to work with. I really did love working there. But. Some members of Management can be very backwards on some policies. And the people higher than your center management clearly don’t care about you, just care about production. The work you do for the pay you receive often feels like it’s not worth it. No bonuses for cross training or becoming a certified trainer for your area is a huge disappointment. There is constant employee turnover. In my opinion - People would want to stay longer than 6 months if the pay was better than it is and there was overall more staff to handle workload at busy times.

I had the pleasure to work here for 6 months, however, your hard work is not rewarded. You are expected to do too many tasks that were not mentioned during the interview or in the job description. So you better negotiate your pay during the interview and give them a big number. Also, coworkers can be your enemies so be careful. Also, you must learn how to deal with difficult donors, many of them were gang members. (Not safe job environment) 
There was a nice opportunity to travel Per diem to help other centers. 

The other staff is fun to work with. You can interact with donors and other phlebotomist. But when it's the busy days it's awful. We almost have to beg for management and other employees to help around the floor. Management is lazy and do the bare minimum. It's only when the Operation Manager or any other higher up comes to the center when management wants to look helpful. And if you are one of the favorites you can get away with a lot of stuff. Also the company doesn't care about it's employees. It's like working in a warehouse. You just do your duties and leave. It's no different than a warehouse.

This company was the most unorganized placed I've ever work. They hire a lot of consultants and most of them leave. There is a high turn over rate. Last year they laid off most of the company. They have problems with regulations and the FDA. The management team is horrible, and threat people like slaves. I worked over 12 hour days 5 days a week when I worked there. The pay or overtime was ok, but you have no work/life balance. Overall, the company is very unstable--I'm surprised it's still open. I wouldn't recommend any one to work there, unless you're right out of school and desperate.

The turn over in this company is absolutely insane idd say 1/3 of all people hired end up leaving within 3 months.  Management and HR act like they care yet they do absolutely nothing to change this.

Instead they force you to do more work with less man power and if you don't like it they tell you just quit.  They hire everyone at different pay rates that make no sense and it is impossible to move up in this company.  If you start at 18 an hour you will most  likely be stuck at that pay and maybe get a 2% raise each year if you are lucky.

Only pro is the non management employees that work there are great people.
