Typical work day-filled with drama and no structure, no communication and no accountability
Learning experiences- upper management is very dishonest, self reserved and unorganized
Management- is by far the worst I have ever had the displeasure of working under
Workplace culture:  no structure, no professionalism, employees have no direction they just come operate and go
When structure is introduced, all goes haywire and management only encourages you to enforce discipline only to go behind your back and drop the ball, throw you under the bus, pass the bulk or renege all together
Upper management on a daily basis, going against the grain and making fictitious promises, unreachable goals and providing the worst support system possible.
There is no backing support for employees, only lies and false accusations
The most enjoyable part of the job: interacting with many of the drives and some support staff and clocking out before any upper management comes around with more self centered goals.

The pay does not match the constant increase in duties a better benefit package is needed overall, less out of pocket spending  

Overall keolis transit ft. Lauderdale could be a great place to work, because the job is not hard in it's self, it's the dealing with the company representatives constantly requiring you to meet certain goals with the appropriate tools to do so. Working with malfunctioning equipment (ie computers, tablets and no laptops) which would be a definite plus for mod's to have out in the field, operating on the cheapest budget alone (at least the budget we're left with after management treats themselves.

Gm, ops mgr and assis ops mgr all a problem that is sinking keolis rapidly.

A typical day at work for this job would start checking messages and emails, returning phone calls, maybe routing a new client , adjusting the schedules, doing data entry, supporting dispatch, taking phone calls about schedules or speaking to a social worker about a client, sometimes listening to drivers and trying to help them with situations as a liaison between them and our customers.
What I learned at this job is customer service there are some people who need more attention and as a person on the other end of the line we have to be more attentive, especially when dealing with the mentally and physically disabled. One must have to try to help and understand the needs of a customer and try to make them feel comfortable enough to express themselves and then try to solve their problem to the best of our ability.
Management is there for guidance when needed for situations you may need an expert opinion or advice or just authorization but the person in this position must try to resolve and take charge when the situation arrives.
My coworkers are a team that are very versatile no matter what challenge we face alone we always seemed to overcome together.
The hardest part of the job is making the hard line between working and going home sometimes there are long hours.
The most enjoyable part of the job is helping people knowing that some one is depending on you for transportation so when you do your job your making their life that much better and when they call and say thank you its the best. Another good part of the job is the different people you meet and get to work with there is great diversity and the job is never boring.

The pay is extremely low and the risks are extremely high. It’s not worth it. Their so called “top pay” is much lower than better companies starting pay. You drive the same boring and annoying routes over and over again, year after year. The 77, 45, 61, 72, 48, 62, 66, and the Orbits are their favorites. There’s no problem getting those routes, especially later on in the day. The 48 is constantly on detour. Keolis has about three or four more desirable routes but they’re difficult to get unless you’ve been employed there for 50 years. The schedules are absolutely awful and erratic. One day your starting time is 430a and the next day it’s 1040a. There hasn’t been any changes or improvements to the way things are done since my employment began. I can’t say anything is better now than it was when I started. Of course the pay has improved but not nearly enough to make a difference. It’s very low. For some reason many of the drivers are in poor health. I surmise it may be from driving those ridiculously long routes in poorly maintained buses day after day. It’s unhealthy to be seated for long periods of time. This job should only be used as a stepping stone. For example, if you’re new in town looking for a steady but small paycheck to help get on your feet. Or if you have an extremely low paying job and you’re looking to slightly increase your income. Work at Keolis a few years, improve your credentials and then move on. 

Team work and communication amoung the team was outstanding. Our Director was outstanding and he was very good at leading us as a team and  driving us to succeed. •	

My key responsibilities included the following:
 Performing procurement functions requiring experience in various commodities. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: * Obtain best value all procurement activities for Keolis (price, quality, delivery, continuity of supply) * Perform procurement assignments of a complex nature, high dollar, sole source. * Ensure all materials procured meet applicable standards and safety requirements. * Negotiate long term pricing agreements with key suppliers for best terms and conditions. * Monitor relevant market trends, marketing pricing. * Research and evaluate cost reduction and opportunities. * Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiencies, continuously add value for materials. * Generate and document cost savings. * Ensure compliance to company guidelines and purchasing policies. * Comply with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required. * Research and identify opportunities to procure goods and services from DBE suppliers. * Aggregate commodities into annualized contracts through analysis of markets to develop contract specifications.

Keolis is restricted from growth and blinded from long term progress by an 8 year (w/ possible 4 year extension) contract with the MBTA. The mission on paper is clear but the reality is an indecisive and scared leadership that will cater to union labor and buckle to silent threats and job actions. There is great opportunity to take action and change the horrible culture that is as old as the railroad itself and this provides great job security and room for promotion. The problem being that there is little to no sincere individuals that are ready to take action or promote based on performance. Raises and promotions are based on your social standing with certain individuals. Performance reviews are a complete joke and/or non-existent. An under bid contract left the company loosing large amounts of money and unable to give proper raises. The pay can be reasonable and job security and benefits come standard on the railroad but unfortunately, if you care about team effort and desire to take action and make a difference or follow a mission, search elsewhere.

Coach operator is the main component in this federal funded private business model. This means you’re under federal guidelines although not afforded equal benefits of a federal employee. You’re not even a city employee.. driving a city bus.. Work conditions are unrealistic and often dangerous.  Responsibility is excessive given the level of pay provided.  Operations management all inclusive is a mixed bag of slackers to overlord mentalities.  The middle is often in conflict between the two extremes.  This often leaves coach operators in a position of self reliance in keeping with the cadence following the Omni bus schedule.  The RTC functions more a fine police entity.. Imposing constant sanctions on the companies they hire to do what the RTC should be doing itself.  This repeatedly  places coach operators in a degraded work environment.  Where financial distortions between the RTC and its contracted service provider “Keolis” affectively overshadow the purpose of providing quality reliable public transportation. Consider carefully “Coach Operator” position in this arrangement.  

I enjoy working here at Keolis. Working as a Train Dispatcher always insist of a busy fast pace day. Although we are graded on our on time performance we understand that safety is the first priority here at Keolis always. Each shift we run about 100 trains on 5 different territories and Routes. Beside train movements we also assist track workers with track maintenance in between train provided the schedule allows on an assigned territory. We have an amazing work crew and my co-workers and I work great with one another. I think the hardest part of the job is dealing with the different personalities (upper management) doing major accidents and keeping order in the office all while maintaining great customer service and making sure all safety procedures are being followed all simultaneously. My manager does a great job at managing the office making sure we all are working safely and proficient. I will say the most enjoyable part of the job is at the end of the knowing that you did your job safe and the appreciation of the crews out in the field working under your protection and direction.

I have managed all aspects of fleet procurement and deployment, including specification and contractual issues, production, delivery, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and warranty work   Additionally, I have worked for railroad operators in Both San Jose, CA and Boston MA.  My most recent position was the Deputy Chief Mechanical Officer at Keolis Commuter Services in Boston, an operation with a mechanical department workforce of over 600 people. As District Manager of the Boston high speed rail facility, I had over 100 staff and a $4+ million dollar budget to manage and maintain. As Deputy General Manager for Caltrain in San Jose, I had over 100 staff and an $8+ million dollar budget to manage and maintain. Most of my experience is working with ‘State of the Art’ technologies. State of the art equipment utilizes the latest innovations on railcars in today’s markets.

I worked there Three years + was a great Job. I got along with most of the supervisors and dispatchers. The job is stressful at times and you’re going to be dealing with the best of the best of Las Vegas so you must understand how that will go. If you’re not able to deal with a wide verity of people, attitudes, mental states and smells and still be able to keep your bus running on time then this is not the job for you. Other then that the job pays well as long as you’re able to get some time under your belt. The longer your there the more you make per hour the more pto and vacation time you accrue each pay check and your will be able to score better routes and work schedules. So it pays to stay there 2 years + and it is Union if you’re in to that and you do not have to pay dues if you do not want to. Just do not be stupid and do something that will get you fired. Like I did.

Regardless of what’s right or wrong, it’s always their way or the highway at Keolis. The company seems stuck in a cycle of poor leadership and constant micromanagement that drains any sense of motivation you might have had when you started. I’m honestly surprised they’ve managed to remain a contractor for CapMetro this long, but somehow they keep hanging on. Be prepared to be watched, questioned, and second-guessed at every turn. Every decision you make has to align with their narrow perspective, or you’ll find yourself on the chopping block. Advancement isn’t based on performance or dedication—it’s based on who you know and whether or not you fit into their inner circle. Even when you do get promoted, it feels like your job security hangs by a thread. The work environment can wear you down slowly, leaving you with little energy or desire to keep showing up each day.
