The management will use & abuse good workers while giving special treatment to lazy/horrible workers, then if the good worker decides to stop going above & beyond and only do what is expected of them since their work ethic isn't appreciated the company will stop at nothing to fire that good worker (including making false allegations that don't have to be proven because the Union is in the company's pocket), while continuing to give special treatment to the lazy/horrible workers. The union that yanks money directly out of your checks that is supposed to protect the workers is CORRUPT and works in the favor of the company. They go against the contract whenever they please and when you put in grievances that get all the way to federal arbitration they still end up winning even though anyone with common sense can see they are in blatant violation of the contract.

During the probationary period, you are unable to utilize the union (not that the union will do anything for you after probation anyway) and do not have any medical/benefits, yet they still yank money out of your check every week to pay for union dues and/or union fees on top of medical/benefits that you cannot use during that time, and you can be fired "without reason," as stated in the contract, during that time.

Many people, like I used to, may still think unions are the best thing to work for but this experience taught me the very hard way that they are corrupt. It's no wonder I was confused to see that right in the union contract it says you are UNABLE to strike and are subject to termination if you take part in a strike. This is part of the UNION contract! This was just one of the first red flags that I decided to ignore. Don't make the same mistake I made.

If you are looking for somewhere you can go to work being the excellent worker you are, and be rewarded with stability & peace of mind, stay far away from Dr Pepper Snapple Group. They just recently fired people that have been there for 9 and 10 years, amongst countless others. They are desperate for workers now but for some reason would rather hire countless new people and continue hiring and firing relentlessly instead of treating the people that have been there for a while fairly and in a manner that makes them happy to work there. They don't understand that if you keep your workers happy they will all go above and beyond for you without you having to ever say a word to them.

They are the type of company that will allow certain minor rules to be broken, but if they ever feel some personal vendetta against you they will spend excessive energy trying to catch you breaking one of those rules to fire you, while still allowing everyone else to break those rules without a problem. And if they don't catch you because you don't break rules whether other people do or not, they will simply lie and have you fired for a false allegation, even though you have the entire shift as a witness on your side, and even though money is yanked out of your check for a union that is supposed to protect at least your most basic rights as a worker; and the company will still get away with it.

Even if you are desperate for work, it would be a mistake to offer your work to Dr Pepper Snapple Group. Your job is not safe with them. You never know when a supervisor that was always on good terms with you one day turns around and has a problem with you for no apparent reason, which I also experienced and I have no doubt it was due to office talk/gossip coming from the manager who had a problem with me for attempting to use the union to stand up for my rights. The manager is not professional and allows personal emotions to get in the way of what is best for the company in terms of the workers and how to treat them. The manager is so unprofessional as to try to have the supervisors constantly watch a certain employee to catch him/her breaking any rule so as to fire him/her.

I learned so many things the hard way at this job i could write a whole book on my experiences. I only barely touched the tip of the iceberg in this review. So here I am imploring everyone who values their time, their work ethic, and their self-respect as a worker to stay far away from this place.

As a merchandiser you are paid pretty well, and they give raises fairly often. The thing is for what they put you through, they definitely should.  Do you like working weekends and every holiday besides Christmas? If you answered no to any of that this isn't the job for you. You will be expected to work pretty much every holiday. Don't plan on using vacation over any holiday as they are all blocked out. You do get 8 hours of your typical holiday pay, however they do not pay 1.5 or double time when you work holidays like other companies when you work on the day.  

They are always short staffed on merchandisers, yet always on a hiring freeze. So plan on being on call on one of your days off, or asked to work overtime regularly. They would rather pay people OT and run them into the ground than have to pay for the benefits of additional employees. You will see a nice paycheck but you will not have time to enjoy it. When you are sick or too broken to come in, they will not want you to use sick time, they will just ask you work one of your days off to make it up. 

Another big issue, is they can never seem to have consistency with scheduling. "It can't be done" is what they will say (even though other competitors don't seem to have this issue), so you never know what days off you will have next week (rarely back to back/2 days in a row). Don't think you can plan ahead either for your days off, Schedule starts Sunday and sometimes they haven't released it until Saturday night (sometimes on Sunday). Although to be fair, if you let your supervisor know you have a doctor appointment they typically will work with you. 

If you are having a good day it is only 8 hours, typically it'll be 10+ hour days, every day. The insurance is decent, the company does cover most of that bill. Two weeks of PTO per year at entry level plus 4 personal days. Do not look for advancement here. This is a job to get experience and leave. To move up here you will need to work hard for the company for 5 years or more with little or no mistakes. They will only remember the bad things you do, not all the times you worked overtime or did extra.  Apparently the only move from merchandiser is sales......they don't want you to move elsewhere. 
 
The job is great if you are young and/or in shape, it's a workout. You do have some freedom and little in the way of micro management, but every store thinks the need first service. Sometimes its difficult when you get sales reps that flood stores with freight, you will have 8 pallets in stores that should only have three or four. It's not for the faint of heart, you will deal with different managers in stores that all seem to think that they are your only store to service. You will feel like someone is always angry at you, whether its your fault, sales, the driver etc......it doesn't matter you are in front of them so it is all your fault.

You will spend more time digging through pallets looking for what you need, than actually putting it on the shelf. Several stores don't want you to bring pallets to the floor. Instead you will work twice as hard, double (sometimes triple)handling everything. Pull everything you need off the pallet, put it on a Uboat/cart, push cart to the floor, pull what you need off cart onto shelf, realize you took too much/little of something, rinse, repeat. Don't babysit the shelves, you'll be stuck all day. 

Its not bad, but it's not great. It's a very physical brainless job where you use very little brain capacity. If you get a good supervisor (like I had) it makes it more bearable. For what it's worth, they do their best to retain people. If you are in trouble, they will try to move you to work somewhere else or retrain you. If you feel in danger they will do the same. If you are buried they will do their best to try and assist you with your route.

Presently my hours are 9:30am - 6:00pm but occasionally I am here until 7:00/7:30 because I am the last person available with the proper credentials to check in drivers per SOX compliance.  I answer phones, direct calls, handle customer calls & resolve issues. If I am unable to resolve the problem I forward the caller to the correct person/persons to assist.  I process new customers & vendors in our MASTR DATA PROTAL. I cashier drivers face to face unless there are problems with a route such as handheld issues affecting route completion or trucks broke down & waiting 3hrs for RYDER to assess the problem. In this case if the route is not complete I will perform a drop safe deposit have the driver sign the DROP SAFE LOG & process the route the next day.  I post deposits to our SAP system which is monitored by our accounting department & in house auditors. I then process the necessary reports needed by accounting to balance our accounts. I prepare these reports daily & submit them to management for signature then forward these reports to my auditor.  I am also responsible for setting invoices up for payment in SAP for send to the Accounting department. I process PO’S for warehouse orders; i.e... Plastic wrap - need for pallet stability, shelving & display supplies, signage & such.  As I noted before I process all invoices & set them up for payment. Many of our customers require proof of delivery forms, store stamps, & clear signatures in order for their office to make payment.  I process all pod's & send POD'S & route invoices to our billing department for processing if not available I make the driver or driver supervisor get the correct paperwork so the customer is satisfied & will pay invoicing. My favorite day of the week is Wednesday we deliver mostly convenience stores then & it is the quietest day of the week here.  I can accomplish so much on Wednesday's. Our present manager has my greatest respect; He took this location over last November & has worked very hard to build motivation, teamwork, & accountability in all we do.  The previous manager was all over the place, difficult to talk to, limited communication & there was no teamwork.  The hardest part of my job is people management.  I say this because I am the middleman, the go to girl, sometimes the only contact in the office for customers, drivers, merchandisers, salespeople, & office management. I am as responsible for communication with all entities related to our business as our management & I am happy to accept this responsibility because even on the bad days when it seems every caller is negative/angry I for the most part can calm them down, talk the issue through & leave the customer/employee reasonably satisfied. Just as people management is the hardest part of my job; it is also the most enjoyable.  I like assisting people in their needs whether it is providing distribution service as I do now, assisting a caller with an insurance claim which I have done, or just listening to what the customer really wants & making sure that said customer is satisfied in the end. My co-workers are a great bunch of guys & gals; I will miss them if & when I move to another career. Even though we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel DPSG/Seven Up Snapple SE is at this moment in the process of selling the branch located in Birmingham, AL to Supreme Beverage.  The employees should hear from HR mid-May as to what the company is offering us to stay until the changeover.  I already know that if our drivers are hired by Supreme Beverage they will make substantially less than we pay now.  As for myself I am presently keeping all options open.  The present owners & operators have done everything possible to make this location a profitable part of DPSG/SEVEN UP SNAPPLE SE but to no avail.  Supreme Beverage seems to think that together we can succeed in this area of business.  Only time will tell.

The time has finally come for my formal review of KDP. I'm going to be fair and honest in my experience. The first thing I want to say is that this job may in fact be for some people. If you need 10 hr days, you'll get them. (There are about 2 days out of 5 where they are only BackStock Days (my wording), and these can be anywhere from 6 1/2 - 10 1/2 hr days, depending on your work. Other days: 10 hours minimum average). If you desire promotional opportunity and room to grow in a company, I recommend finding a different job in the company or a different place to work.
I'll first start off with what you first need to know, then last, and then everything in-between.
The first thing to know about KDP is that the benefits ON paper are good, whereas off-paper aren't so good. (As in, manager communication, sense of purpose, job expectations, etc). My recruiter sent me a list of benefits during the recruiting process. The benefits I learned were for Union and Salary employees. So, these awesome numbers weren't true to my job. Then, I was sent the Non-Union/Hourly benefits package, which was different than the Lenexa Office's official bene's package. So, from first benefits package to actual, I was (lied to?) misdirected. 
These on-paper benefits, allwithstanding, include Parental Leave, a good percent off certain products, my rating of 6.7/10 for Health, Dental, Vision, etc. Even with misdirection, not that bad. 
The last thing you need to know is that Merchandiser's average a 1-month life at KDP. And there's strong reasons for that. Of course, some Merchandiser's have been at KDP for years. And yes, the CEO did start out as a Merch. But, advertising "Corelletion of CEO = Causation from Merchandising" is a normal tactic for big companies, and though it's not technically faulty, it's not formula.  I didn't get paid as much as other Merchandiseing companies, however, this always depends on the individual branch. The pay isn't awful but it's not enough. 
The HR people are really solid, but they don't know much. You'll be gaureenteed things in training that NEVER come to fruition. I never got Forklift/Pallet Jack Certified. (You'll use forklifts/Electric pallet jacks everyday). My manager never once worked with me on my personal route. And I never worked my entire route either with someone else or by myself with a manager audit before being assigned to it, which was ok. All these were promised on the first 2 days of training. Oh? And the first 2 days of training: videos with other cadets, not actually on the job. Normal corporate stuff. 
I cannot stress this enough: If you want to work safely and not give out your back, your days will be longer. But stretch, and drink water, and take the extra step or within a month your back won't be sore, it'll be out. 
Why did I quit? I did not (necessarily) quit my job, I quit my manager. You may get a good manager. I got someone who never spoke to me about promotions or any other opportunities because I suppose I wasn't worth his time. Never once did I feel valued at the company. My manager never called to check on me (sometimes a good thing), and only retorted "Per KDP policy..." handbook BS when I had a legitimate frustration. Yes, his responsibilities were clearly to do His job, not to establish employee comaderie or communication. Worse manager I have ever had. 

Do I recommend this job? NO. 
Will some people enjoy it? It'll pay the bills. 
If you're not the creative type, like working alone, and actually enjoy the same expectations via the usual days of each work day, you'll like this job. 

I was coming out of a job in contracting so I needed a job and thought this was the place. I will tell you the horrible stuff I have dealt with in the past year working here. So many cons that it is ridiculous

1st- the pay is absolutely not worth what you have to work. Sometimes they make you work OT which is good money on your end, but the amount of work the require you to do in 1 day is laughable. Sometimes you need to call for OT or any other questions and management usually shuts their phone off when their 8 hours are up. Then they sometimes dont pay you your OT on your check so you have to keep going into the branch to fix it which sucks because the location of the branch is far for some of us.

2nd-They will relocate you without even notifying you. I have been working in the city I live in and I was happy with my route. Out of no where they started sending me to a city 1 hour away from me so now instead of being able to wake up at a decent time I had to wake up at 2am just to get to work on time so I was losing almost 2 extra hours of sleep a day because of it. I would spend more money on gas then what they reimburse you for so depending on where you are you may still have to put your own out of pocket money to work. Your car will break down whether it is new or not and you will have extremely high maintenance bills coming your way. I usually changed my oil once every 3 or 4 months before this job and now I have been changing it every 3-4 weeks with all the driving they want you to do.

3rd-Management is by far the worst in Riverside, they treat you so bad and always talk down to you. They try to find ways for you to get scammed out of getting into the Union so they can take advantage of you. I came in with 4 new people and let me tell you what happened to them. 1 was notified by mail that he was fired with no phone calls or anything and another is getting pushed out by getting his route removed randomly and being sent to places so far he cant pay for gas anymore.

4th-Union is all talk. They only help when they can but the Union leader here is a waste of space and doesn't really care about 70% of the time. He has his group of favorites so if you're new don't even bother calling because he wont return your phone calls.

5th- Sales reps treat you horrible about 70% of the time and are always forcing you to rush to finish their stores because they dont want to do it themselves. I have met only 1 sales rep who was helpful but the majority that I have worked with will start complaining for little things and will call your District Manager to complain about you without even notifying you. All they want to do is look good and if they mess up you better believe that you will be the first as a merchandiser to get blamed.

6th- Rarely get a 15 min break and lunch is only 30 mins. The sales reps bug you on your lunch and when you explain to call you back because youre on lunch they get upset. District Managers dont care as well and harass you why you take so many breaks. You will either work with no breaks or work with breaks and get yelled at for being too slow.

Overall the only positive about this is you get good benefits and they pay you weekly. At the work place you meet good people, but these are either other merchandisers for different companies or the employees of the store you are working in.

The DC Tech ll Shipping and Receiving job in particular is a job in which you are spread too thin and receive too little compensation. Employees have complained about the compensation due to the work load compared to the work load of other departments who receive significantly more compensation. The company’s response was to change the job title to Warehouse Worker to avoid paying fair compensation. They also created the job title of Production Tech 1 instead of the previous starting position of Production Tech ll to stave off lower ranking employees from trying to move up to the production line as it now starts out at the same wage as a Warehouse Worker as opposed to a Production Tech ll which would start out at a significantly higher wage. The company creates nonsensical job titles paying exorbitant wages to people walking around doing nothing but intimidating workers. The company has high profit margins and can afford to create a lot of nonsensical jobs so it is very insulting that they are so driven to pay the people who actually work hard the most minimal amount possible. They actual hired people to tell them what is the cheapest wage they could get away with based on what other companies in the area pay. We all know South Carolina businesses are known for exploiting their employees. This company pays just slightly more than other SC companies to make them look good by comparison when considering the same job title, “Warehouse Worker”, yet pay so little by comparison of work load within their own company. That is exploitation. They say it’s One KDP, yet there is nothing One about it. They have “Warehouse Workers” separated from the rest of the company when it comes to pay. 
During New Employee Orientation you’re fed a lot of fluff. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s because it is too good to be true. It’s one culture in NEO and a totally different culture beyond the NEO classroom. The leadership is nothing more than idiots off the street who have no leadership skills. And to make it worse, they get promoted to higher paying nonsensical jobs doing nothing more than walking around fault finding and intimidating their subordinates. A couple of them have really bad tempers and will make accusations before they have any clue about what is really going on and don’t like to ask questions to find truth first. They say a KDP value is “Fearless and Fair”, but their actual value on the plant floor is “fearful and unfair”. 

When I accepted the job offer, I was under the assumption that I would be working the 2nd shift and working five days a week. Once onboard, I was told that for the past two years, they have been working six days a week. They started up a six-day a week operations without having all the necessary people and resources to ensure that it would be successful. The company continues to rely on the employees to work overtime and want to make extra money. They "have a plan" to add workers. But it's been two years in the making. Even adding the four additional warehouse associates does not relieve the burden of having a supervisor at work on the weekends. I was told it would be a rotation between the supervisors and leads, which does not work for apparent reasons. This type of thinking is the typical putting the cart before the horse. 
There was no formal Onboarding procedure, no training of company systems, no planned follow up within a specific timeframe. Once I stepped into the doors, I was on my own and had to ask my Lead for instruction on how to do company-specific tasks. No other supervisor provided much help or even end of shift updates unless it was to point out a problem area that someone else had done. Lack of proper training from the start was a huge indicator that the culture of employee empowerment was not there. The shift I took over was missing a supervisor for a while. During that time, they were pretty much left on their own. This created a culture that they can do what they want, and no punitive action would occur. When I arrived, I was told to conduct four Correction Actions on employees within my first three weeks. 
The way the work task was deligated was a concern as well. There were "Inventory Control" employees only by job title. All inventory functions were done by the forklift operator, which impacted the effectiveness of forklift operators to unload and load trucks. The Inventory Supervisor told me tht it was in the Job Description of the Forklift Operators to do inventory functions. I then looked at the Forklift Operators job description and found he was incorrect. He did not want to do anything besides watching his iPhone and sit behind his computer. 
When trying to bring up any suggestion, whether in the form of a Kaizen or consistent improvement, no brainstorming happens. You are told, "Great, you do it." Coming from a culture that embraces change to one that does not was a huge turn off in making any suggestions for improvement.



Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worked with some great people at this company. I’ve met some very hard-working and dedicated workers, but more often than not the people here will do whatever they can to get out of doing their job properly. There is constant blaming for mistakes that you don’t even make and the culture of the company is to get product out regardless of whether it is quality or food safe. I’ve unfortunately seen countless food safety infractions and was promptly shut down when I brought them up. The moment a line stops everyone is down your throat about why the line is stopped and then a quick fix is applied to ensure we run again. Some management is fine, but others will micromanage you about things that do not matter, but will let serious incompetence slide mostly due to the fact that they can’t afford to lose more people. The ones who work hard get tired of the ones who don’t and eventually quit, leaving the slackers behind and renewing the same sad cycle. They wonder why turnover and employee dissatisfaction is high, yet they do nothing when we tell them. The pay is laughable for the amount of work we do and the “raises” are just as insulting. Someone got a 2 cent raise this year, others got less than 50 cent raises. They pay us what they believe our job is worth in their eyes despite the fact that the higher ups have little to no clue what their workers do on a given day. I cannot stress how much quality and safety are pushed aside for the sake of production, even if the product is bad. I’ve seen people falsify information to cover themselves and release product that is obviously bad, so if you have an ounce of integrity this is not the place for you. The plant itself is dirty and I see spiders, ants, cockroaches, and the occasional lizard every day while here despite there being a “pest control program.” I’ve also had black water drip on me countless times from the ac units. Maintenance is also overworked so nothing gets fixed properly or in a timely manner. I worked here during the COVID pandemic and very few safety measures were put in place apart from a mask mandate and some cleaning. Our hazard pay was taken away mid-2020 DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE PANDEMIC because they said that the pandemic was mostly under control. I’m amazed how this place has managed to continue to run not only because of the high employee turnover, but also because of the terrible safety conditions. 

Speaking as a former Maintenance Technician, most of your day is spent working as a high level operator on packaging equipment. This stems from minimally trained operators or those who don't want to learn and just be material loaders. This is very problematic with the nature of the product being produced as there are always minor operator level adjustments that need to be made throughout the day. 

Secondly, they only care about how many K-Cups they can produce each day. This is due to a massive failure of a new startup site that was supposed to relieve the excessive burden placed on the Knoxville plant. Management is under the gun so bad that many supervisors have left because of the constant a** chewings everyday in meetings. The morale of the employees is incredibly low due to the pressure placed on them and the unbearable summer heat in the facility.

Here are some pro's and con's to consider:

Pros: 
- Good pay. They recently bumped pay significantly for hourly employees to get people on the door. It's been hard for them as they have earned a bad rep in the area.
- Schedule. Weekday and weeknight crew works M-Thur 12 hours and gets every F-Sunday off. Weekend crews out work F-Sunday 12 hours and get double time pay Sunday. 4 days off every week!

Cons:
- Gets very warm on production floor in summer. So bad last year that the machines had troubles overheating. This forced them to install temporary A/C units, but only due to machinery not producing numbers.
- Filthy for a food manufacturing environment. The bathrooms and break room are very disgusting. They hire outside cleaning services that don't do their job. The floors are never mopped. The upper level where management is remains clean however.
- The lazy get rewarded and paid more than those who actually work hard and are good at what they do. Many new employees were recently hired in at the same pay rate as those who have been with the company for years. Very degrading for the seasoned employees with the highest skillsets in the company.

I would definitely recommend looking at some of the other major manufacturing companies that are expanding in the Knoxville area before accepting a position at Keurig Dr Pepper.





Poor management in all depts!  There is no communication amongst themselves! All the supervisors have no clue how to treat or their employees with dignity & respect! Although this job advertises work days are Monday through Friday they have way too many mandatory Saturdays that you have to work!  You’re  only allowed to work 60 hrs  weekly if you get 4 hours under 60  then yup u guessed it you still have to show up Saturday for mandatory wk day. They have lots of favoritism there! If you are not a brown noser you are not part of the pack. They give their favorite people way less work while they give the person who they don’t really care for all the  heavy cargos! They don’t give you the tools you need to succeed! They make you feel bad if you cannot make that delivery “100 percent of the time” it’s the customers who Decline their orders however the supervisors make you feel like it’s your fault smh! YOUR PTO time is your vacation time you don’t get a separate PTO like other companies! Although this company is supposedly  “Union”  it’s really weak!! However they are sure to take their cut weekly from your pay checks! You get training for one week in the bulk trucks lol and than they cut you loose! If your a  relief driver or even got hired as a combination driver they will put you in  bulk or side load, they switch your schedules daily so you will never know which route your doing until the next morning when u come to work. however remind you u had your training in bulk only! “ not as a  side loader” but do they care NO WAY!!! they cut you loose regardless and guess what rather u know side load or not your on your own to figure it out smh this is sad! I have seen many new people come on board only to leave 3 weeks later … 
Oh and  for a rookie driver it’s a sink or swim there is no mentoring and if you seek their help they are useless to you there's no winning with them. If you want to work here  just to get experience get it and then run with it!!!! But if you have experience already-as a truck driver  this place isn’t for you it’s toxic place and a waste of your talents.
