Kinecta Federal Credit Union

Over the course of the last 3 years with my current employer I have been tasked with the requirement to research and apply ever changing federal regulations in regards to lending and insurance practices as well as translating said regulations to direct sales staff members and outside clientele. These regulations have been steadfast and the adaptation process has been a welcome challenge for me. I greatly enjoy the relationships I have built with my immediate coworkers, sales staff and outside clients over the years. My management team has been very supportive and has been a team I have wanted to eventually grow to be a part of however senior management has recently put a stop to offsite employees obtaining supervisory or management positions. I am interested in obtaining a stable full-time position with a prosperous company with the potential for job advancement in the future.

KFCU is the one of the largest credit unions in Southern California. The company culture was fun and challenging at times. 
I was fortunate to be able to development the Business Development Department for KFCU.  I excelled quickly and looked to grow my division. We were challenged by technology & budget.
I had an amazing team to work with. What I enjoyed the most about my position was the ability to build over 500 corporate partnerships, membership acquisition and work directly for all the Divisional Presidents, SVP's, and The Executive Team and bring added value to our members. I am very pasionate about people.  I pride myself on honestly and integrity. 
It is vital in my core values to be  transparent with integrity in our  delivery and expectations for clients to build long lasting relationships. This has been the foundation of my success.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Kinecta is a terrible place to work. The managers  of the commercial loan underwriting and operations departments are stupid and low on ethics. As a result the commercial real estate loan department made high risk loans, the default rate in the loan portfolio tripled, and nearly everyone in real estate lending at Kinecta was laid off in 2023.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Kinecta had an enormous employee turnover rate and tiny bonuses. The underwriting manager is a back stabbing little punk. Horrible place to work. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Unhappy environment full of selfish stupid people 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I quit and found a much higher paying job. Good riddance Kinecta

MCC Management does not care about their employees nor the members. HIGH call volumes with no help from other depts., until members start to complain on social media. Then management has no idea of how to answer simple questions regarding account maintence, they go on daily lunches paid for by the credit union for hours, take smoke breaks during the day hourly, does like to interact with employees if they are not in "management roles". Very disappointing. Director has no credit union experience there fore has no idea about the service driven is for members not himself. VERY SAD! I will not even tell family members or friends to join Kinecta FCU, bc of the way they treat their members. MEMBERS COME FIRST!!!  The sooner this credit realizes this the better their service and membership will become.

I've been employed at Nix as a teller more then 5 years, Nix is now owned by Kinecta Credit Union but everything is still the same. Pay is very low, even In n Out fast food employee gets paid more then me and I've been working at Nix for so long. Hours of operation sucks, Kinecta want us to feel like one big family then  they should have our pay and hour of operation the same as theirs. You get a raise every two years and it'll only be .20cents and that's only if your manager give you a good review. There is a lack of communication with management, tellers opinion doesn't even matter. 
**** ALL the good reviews on here are all employees that work for Kinecta Credit Union BUT if you ask Nix employees LIKE myself you would hear nothing but BAD reviews****

Hardest part of the job was the commute, Irvine Ca to El Segundo, Ca.  2 hours each way. I was originally able to work from home 3-days a week but that was discontinued & revised to working in the office Monday-Friday, 9-6 not leaving much time for a social life. The people very easy to get along with.  Management going through some changes, the economy made for a challenging environment. Typical day included 8 hour days in the office full filling both my job responsibilities as a Review Appraiser as well as helping out w/administration duties. The Appraisal Dept was downsized due to budget cuts which was due to current economic conditions affecting loan production.

There's pros and cons to every employer. Kinecta is a great place to work overall however like any other employer, there are many factors such as your immediate team members, your perspective and whether you like your work or not. I'm fortunate to have a very supportive manager and feel valued in my immediate team. There are times my job advancement seems stagnant however I'm also away that my boss is doing everything she can and if given the opportunity, she'd do anything to help me grow and develop which I'm so thankful for. I work hard and feel like I'm a solid contributor to the company. I believe in the core values, vision and mission of the organization as well so it's been pretty great overall!

I began my career when it was still Hughes FCU, we then changed our name to Kinecta. It was an amazing atmosphere to work in. Every employee was given training and the proper tools and support to do their job well. It was during a time where employees spoke about Kinecta with pride when asked, "who do you work for?" Kinecta allowed me to move around the company so I could grow as an employee and person. I worked frontline and back office. I worked hard and worked my way to Asst. Retail Branch Manager. Thanks to Kinecta and their support.

Fast Paced Environment! If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere! And I say that in a good way! This company fine tunes your customer service skills, you will learn how to cross-sell and fund loans. You will work with the coolest people here! My branch felt like a family. Management was very supportive at all times. Corporate seemed to be out of touch with employees (but that's corporate) My only complaint is slow promotions and low pay. BUT.. it's a great company to start if you are looking to work as a entry level banker. This company will train you for the next step in your career!  I was here for six years!

Ive learned that as far as development and advancement you are pretty much on your own and things where constantly changing as far as the staff and corporate culture. Co workers where very nice. The most enjoyable part of the job was of course my co-workers getting to work with such wonderful people on a daily basis. The most challenging part of the job was lack of new hire training and development. I leared that working for a credit union is quite different than working for a commercial bank. Commercial banks have more resources and with credit unions everything is hands on and manual.
