Incredibly poor internal customer service and practically nonexistent ethics, management is a joke (true story: our system went down and when it came back up half my patients were missing. I alerted my manager when i realized this. This is the response, "just do the ones on your provider work list..." had I done what I was told to, numerous patients would have missed treatments and some were criticaly ill. That is not proper patient care in my eyes and I find it disgusting that its acceptable practice to management! This hospital is basically where you go to get your start in a hard economy or where you go when no other hospitals will take you due to prior incidents or blemishes on your record. They claim they afford you autonomy as an rt here but I've never seen more micro managing in my life. Additionally this is not a very progressive hospital, they cringe at using anything but volume control on their vents. So if you looking to use your brain, your not going to here you basically turn knobs. Other than that they have; horrendous working conditions, no support, no room from growth in fact management appears to be threatened by anyone with intelligence, drive and assertiveness, and lastly the director has the maturity of a high school girl whose boyfriend was stolen by her best friend. In short there is a ridiculous amount of drama within the department, mostly due to management in my opinion. I do not recommend working here unless you absolutely have to in which case good luck, you'll need it!!

a typical day at work, was extremely busy, short staffed. patient to nurse ratios are not aligned to national standard resulting in negative patient outcomes that go unreported.

what you believe you learned, is if I had a do over, never would have applied. This place is clueless what diversity is, what it's for, and how to align to it.

management, is not qualified basically if you are the last one remaining in the department you are the manager, it's a joke contributing to a revolving door. do not work extra time without being paid they promise comp time and never pay you beware of the empty promises.

workplace culture, is nonexistent head nurses from the very top down are all incompetent mean girls and will proudly go around disparaging, gaslighting, bulling workers and will proudly and with authority tell anyone that you are in harm's way if you say anything.

the hardest part of the job, is dealing with this insecure mean behavior driven from the top down. this place spends an enormous amount of money fixing/rigging end of life equipment versus replacing it placing patients at risk.

the most enjoyable part of the job leaving and knowing that these lifers will never get out of the environment in which they created knowing that they will not be tolerated at other organizations for this type of hateful noncompliant behavior.

KRMC is a small yet VERY busy hospital. They're so busy and understaff, it forces you to cut corners and to lower your standard of care to your patients. Surprisingly, management would support this. They don't care how you do it, "just get the job done". It's all about numbers and never the quality of care we give to your patients. This is so backwards!

They have some surgeons that are terrible, have had their license revoked in their record, yet KRMC still employs them! You would think when patients are getting abcesses and infections from a simple procedure consistently, management would take action immediatley!

It's very hard to be proud and support your work as ethical at KRMC because the management doesn't support it, you have no voice and the hospital you're working for allows these situations. This is a prime example how KRMC does NOT have the patient in mind at all in their processes. It's all about money and scores only.

When people ask me where I've worked in the past, I actually HESITATE to say KRMC because I am embarassed and ashamed I worked in such a bad environment.

There needs to be BIG changes in that hospital starting with management.

Overall, I would never have my own healthcare done at KRMC nor any of my family members. I do NOT recommend it. That alone says it all.

They will work you beyond exhaustion; NO management support - the middle-management are the worst and are hands-off unless they have an axe to grind. Middle-mgmt likes to be "buddy-buddy" with their minions, and if you're not in that clique for whatever reason, the ENTIRE OFFICE makes the work experience awful. You'll be lucky to get a couple days of training before you're cut loose to sink or swim. It seems like you're encouraged to backstab and gang up on staff. Rules are on a sliding scale and are enforced randomly while others violate policies and procedures. Office politics rule instead of patient-centered care. If you're a good liar and like to play games, then the pay is about average, but the health benefits for the largest healthcare employer are poor at best. Even the various providers have to spend an inordinate amount of time tracking their own revenues instead of utilizing a better model of care, such as Mayo Clinic - despite their advertisement of being connected with them, they certainly haven't learned from Mayo. You'd get better benefits working at the local casinos by far. I felt relieved when I turned in a notice and got out of that environment.

Working as a volunteer enabled me to fill a job that I thought was of benefit to patients that needed my help in checking out of the hospital at a low cost and gave me the satisfaction of doing a job that was benefitial to those needing help. I was at the job for about 6 years, and made many friends. 

My years as a real estate sales person and a real estate appraiser were enjoyable and were tied to a constant learning experience as new influences affected the real estate market. Many changes of people retiring in neighboring state, and escaping cold weather in places to the north and east caused the population to grow rpidly for a few years and also caused real estate values to escalate. This eventually was  a market of lowered values as the market dropped            
part way down again.

My eleven year as an employee of the Duval Corp. Copper Mine near Kingman, AZ were necessary for me to leave Los Angeles, CA. I did not like the huge population, and heavy traffic at all times there. The weather was very good, except for the smog, but it was difficult to get around the area, and I was driving truck on the freeways every day.

They will hire you in and start harassing the month you're hired. Favoritism is all it is about, not how good you are at your job. Very tattletail management, I was told upon hiring to come tell on people for talk, etc. A typical day of work is going in with a gut bomb wondering if you're about to lose your job. If anybody does tell on you for anything you will not get a chance to state your case. Yet it is OK here for the director of the department to stand in front of the whole staff and make feminist jokes.
They will tell you how high the employee satifaction scores are. Do not listen, you are asked you identity when you fill it out!
Staff and fellow workers are great, although morale is at all time lows. The only reason I can take it is the shift I work. Well over 30 techs have been let go in the short time I have been here. Read and believe the reviews here.
I am stuck here as KRMC owns everything around, it is a huge corrupt Morman run establishment. They purchase a new hospital causing all kinds of people, including myself part-time, to lose their jobs. Then they inform us we don't get raises for they are on a line with finances. They start techs out at well below standards.
Overall... there is your warning. Good luck if you do not heed it.

A typical day at work is lackluster and includes an enormous amount of vindictive, gaslighting, bullying behavior. The top blames others, starts rumors, talks about people instead of to people, puppeteers' and gaslights employees and then threatens them with losing their jobs if they go against what they are told. 

What you believe you learned, is that I understand what incompetence and hate look like from the top down. I now understand what a fear driven environment looks like.

Workplace culture is nonexistent and extremely toxic. Departments proudly announcing that they wear pink like in mean girls in an effort to ostracize people, to consistently calling people of various body shapes names, etc.

The hardest part of the job is coming to work and watching the hate, incompetence, and insecurity from the top down. KRMC is a cancer type, hate driven environment. The diversity and inclusion policy is not aligned to organization behavior - no one is held accountable from the top down. 

The most enjoyable part of the job was taking care of patients, going home, and leaving.


I actually really liked most of the individuals in the laboratory department but the director is nothing short of a narcissist. He is constantly talking about how he’s changing the lab for the better and he’s the reason why the lab is so successful.... while he sits at a desk all day. One particular employee would refuse to do their job on a daily basis and CONSTANTLY received bad reviews from patients for being “uncaring and loud” when brought to the attention of management, instead of reprimanding, they gave this employee a promotion to a position that people there for YEARS were hoping to get. This is the person they originally got to “train” me. That employee literally started 2 months before I did. After I complained, they did switch my trainer and that trainer was the only reason I stayed for as long as I did. Nurses would talk down to you (especially 2nd floor) and belittle you for being “just a phlebotomist”, brought to the attention of management; was told to basically get over it because nurses are more valuable.

Worked 10.5 hour days, salaried, and asked/expected to see 20+ medically complex patients daily. No case management or social work within the practice. Overrun behavioral health services within the community.  Learned to manage complex patients with few resources. 

Management is subpar, and all about the bottom line. They have no respect for seniority, and do not value the input by clinical staff. Used to have bi-monthly staff meetings which were discontinued by current management. Your ideas and values are brushed aside. Management communicates extremely poorly, but they boast they are “transparent” and “don’t hide anything”.  What used to be a non-profit facility is now being run as a for profit. 

Staff morale is at an all time low. Management indicates they aren’t hiring and firing, however, there has been dramatic turnover within the past several years. It’s nothing for patients to have gone through 5-6 different primary care providers in the recent past.

People (except management) are excellent to work with.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
Friendly environment.  Staff willing to help. Easy to learn   Not very strict and tight management. Cost of living average if not a bit below average.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They need the pharmacist to be able to function in a short period of time and jump in to help instead of taking, say more than 2 weeks to start being productive because of the pharmacist shortage.  
Cannot be someone with just Retail experience because that will be a disaster for both parties 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pleasant when fully staffed.  With staff shortage now, over worked and  tired staff my not always be as pleasant as usual 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Can be busy but not overwhelming if you know your ways around the unexpected situations. 
We have Medical Residents and Pharmacy Residents, so it’ll be good to be prepared all the time.
