What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is good, and you can take extra baked goods home with you from the break room, often including loaves of bread, hotdog and hamburger buns, and donuts of various flavors.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The job is incredibly fast-based and chaotic, and in the summer temperatures can easily exceed safe amounts within the warehouse.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very fast-based, very chaotic, strong language barriers between co-workers, and, at least in the summer, reliably dangerously hot.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive at 6:15pm, get earplugs, hair net, put away lunch, fill up water bottle. Clock in at 6:25pm and attend a 5-15 minute briefing meeting. Head out to the floor and move heavy objects for 12 hours, broken up by 4 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, spaced out every 1-3 hours.

A typical day consist of trying to meet our customers orders, keeping the production line moving.

My current position as a Maintenance Mechanic is to maintain the equipment assigned to me, repair machinery during run time and down times.

The hardest part about my job is understanding management decisions and scheduling.  As a result, there is not proper down time or required parts to make repairs.  

The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with my co-workers.  As a Maintenance Mechanic, I have many opportunities to move from one area to another.  Thus, I try to uplift and motivate my co-workers, especially during adverse conditions.

Been working here for 2 years and I can't stand the place anymore. Some of the employees are great, but turnover is ridiculously high and the environment is insane. Operators are constantly overworked and (especially if you aren't the same race as your Supervisor) are constantly left to fend for themselves running 2 lines with only 2 people while they have 5-6 people on the other 2 lines chatting and not giving a hand to the operator who is struggling on the other lines. Management is lax and let's some employees get away with 45 minute breaks while writing up others for taking 20. DO NOT WORK HERE. They will suck the life out of you and laugh while they watch you struggle. They higher wages to try and bring new people in, but most quit after 1 day/1 week when they realize they have to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week (sometimes more). If I didn't need the money, I would have quit months ago. 

Fresh Baked products are customer driven. Everyone eats bread . It has to be fresh and it has to be good, for them to eat the bread you are making.
What the Baking industry offers is an opportunity to acquire a secure job . If you are a half way descent worker, consider yourself smart, are not afraid of being tired when you get off work. If you want to make a pretty good living and be home every night . This is an ideal job. There is plenty of room for advancement. You have to earn it. Don't expect it to be handed to you.
    Not sure how the management has been in the past, I know how it is now. Show up on time , be safe , follow directions, be a part of the team .  Pretty simple.

There is no mechanic on site and trucks are leased. The vehicles are not serviced properly. Your start time and end times are constantly changing due to production breakdowns company wide. You are unable to properly secure your loads due to faulty equipment. Your time off constantly changes due to not being able to get back on time. If you don't mind the drug and alcohol culture guess it's not a bad place to work. Some Drivers come to work smelling like the odor of an alcoholic beverage. The same Drivers manager has had to go to his house to get him up for work after a night of binge drinking. 

There are far better driving jobs out there and this place hasn't been able to find any Drivers in over a year 

I have been working for Klosterman for 3 years now and have been incredibly satisfied with my experience. If you are dedicated, show up to work (not just physically), and work hard it does not go unnoticed. My previous manager continues to be one of my biggest role models, and I look up to them for guidance even though we are no longer in the same department. 

I can say from witnessing first-hand that the company does promote from within and always puts its people first, in good times and in bad times. I can't imagine working anywhere else. After being in business for 125+ years Klosterman is going to be here for the long haul.

I enjoyed my time at klostermans. my typical day included working on the production line as part of the crew , we bagged, stacked , sorted, and boxed product to be sent to the shipping department. I learned that it is a team effort and everyone has to work together to be successful in getting the product out on time. I got along well with all my co workers and managers, , the hardest part of the job was when some part of the production line would go down and product would need to be off loaded from the production line, I really enjoyed learning the different areas of the bakery , I really enjoyed the mixing room .

KBC has a fantastic culture where we all hold each other accountable to work hard, be safe, and have fun.  Expectations are high of everyone so we can maintain our commitment of quality to all our customers.  There are countless individuals throughout the company that have worked 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and many that have worked 25 or more.  The company does a good job on training and most promotions are given to internal candidates.  In the 18+ years I have worked at KBC, I have been promoted 4 times and have seen a number of hard working, dedicated colleagues promoted as well.   This is a wonderful company to work for if you are a hard working, driven individual.

Start my day with the 3rd shift meeting ( with 1st shift also in attendance) to see how the night went, and what kind of issues, if any. What was accomplished that evening, and what needs passed on to first shift. Assign tasks to 1st shift, and check emails. 8am staff meeting with the department heads to get the days agenda. Go over the parts situation and order as needed. Receive parts in as they come in. Doing all of this while making sure the production process doesn't stop. At the end of the day another shift meeting with 2nd and 1st to pass everything on and give 2nd shift there projects for the evening.

I was given a chance to get a job with a good wage a benefits, which no other company would do because of my past issues. The job was fast paced and I was able to keep up with it after management took the time to show me how to do the job the right way. As a group the people that I worked with on the line were ready to help each other get our job done.  Wish I would have thought a little clearer before I turned down the offer to become a full time employee. My bad.
