A day at work is typically dynamic as are most repair/service jobs since work priorities can change based on a customer's needs. 
I've learned many skills in my 21+ years with the company ranging from welding, mechanical, high voltage electrical testing, and management skills. I've always had a skilled manager and the company culture is good. The hardest part of this job can be meeting the challenge of customer demands while keeping up with the workload during the busy periods. As a manager, the most enjoyable aspect of this job relates to witnessing and sharing in the professionalism and pride this team takes in repairing large rotating electrical equipment to a level most of our competitors cannot match.

Marketing Communications CoordinatorSupported all communications for multi-faceted business units (motor/generator repair, sales, electrical engineering, electrical & mechanical field services and panel manufacturer) of a $28 plus million electrical apparatus business. Forecast and manage budget. Negotiated outside services resulting in a 75% savings to include utilizing all co-op programs. Coordinated tradeshow activity. Promoted the opening of three new distribution and repair facilities. Facilitated business relations for hydro-automation business unit, securing a worldwide presentation of the only US small hydro-automation project.

L&S helps companies with power generating equipment, engines/motors, and related hardware.  These services are core to our national and local energy and power infrastructure.  L&S goes out of its way to treat customers well and its staff are treated well as evidenced by a large number of double digit tenured employees.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
It was a prevailing wage job, and they paid on time with no problem 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company is based in Florida and sent 2 people while hiring the rest local. The person they sent to run the job was a liar, a terrible manager, slept on the job, and misrepresented everything going on back to the company

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Show up and do your job or there will be problems

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
10 hr days, 4 days a week, all we did was light replacement and switch replacement

-Days run 10-12 hours per day. 
-Onboarding was very good with their vendor partners, but non-existent internally at L&S Electric.
-Learned how to fend for yourself because there isn't any collaboration between divisions within the sales and marketing teams to get you what is needed for net new customers/prospects.
-The culture they speak so highly of is only at the corporate HQ but throughout their 10 other facilities, it is every man for themselves.

This place is a joke. If you are in need of a job apply, but keep looking. Horrible turn around. They like to let people go. My experience is seeing people go is 3 employees a week is average. Without warning, this is a at-will hiring. They are able to let you go without warnings for any reason. There is better pay and better people to work for, keep looking. My only positive note is good place for a short employment. My advice for the company is restructure the HR department. Poor communication, management, and job performance on their end. 

Good place to work, once you get a job here your gonna be doing that same job till you retire or leave. Laid back place to work but management isn’t really around to make decisions or oversee how things are done. Employees sorta run the floor and get things moving. Raises seem to be based on a favor system. As if management likes you, you will excell here if not your S-O-L. Reviews aren’t based on work ethic. Other employees are good people and easy to get along with. If you can put a blind eye to management you would like working here.

No loyalty , respect or integrity from this company.   After working there for almost 25 years I was let go due to the job being eliminated due to covid economy.  In reality I was battling cancer , which is very costly, and I was let go due to the high cost.  When I needed L&S Electric the most they have stranded me with the possibility of not getting the cancer treatment I need.   I was loyal to them for 25 years and bailed them out of many network issues when then needed me. They are not loyal and lack integrity at the highest levels!!!!

Great place to work with friendly atmosphere. Lots of opportunity to learn new things if you want. I learned First Aid/CPR, how to drive a forklift, how to operate an overhead crane, and the ins and outs of winding electric motors. Most of the time overtime is readily available if you want it. Management is friendly and fair. Overall a great place to work but the amount of information to learn can be overwhelming when first starting.
