I must say, it is a great company for someone who's young and looking to make money easily with no future in mind. However the older you get and the more you depend on wanting promotions/raises or growth in the company the more you realize this company doesn't offer that. It's a great company as far as easy money, easy environment, no micro managing or someone down your throat telling you what to do every second of the day. You do get to run an office by yourself or be a float and you do what you want on your down time however there are times that it is VERY stressful. (i.e.) answering phone calls as well as handling clients who are in the office at the same time. Clients who may have issues with their policies and will take up 20+ minutes of your time while you have 5 other people in the office trying to make it to SOS because it's their day off or it's almost 5, people yelling at you because their rates went up or you cant quote them over the phone at the time they call because you have multiple other people in front of you who's already been waiting. Stuff like that. No 401k, benefits, pension, etc. If you're an agent, an agent is basically all you'll be. There's no room to grow. If you have kids or have a busy schedule where you need to take time off, or think you may call in here and there, this isn't a job for you. If you're young and aren't thinking of the future yet and just want to make easy money, this is for you.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I can’t speak on the company itself, however the leadership and Human Resources department was terrible and unprofessional. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They only have one agent to an office. Don’t expect to be able to take care of any personal matters. You won’t be able to take lunch, or make doctors appointments or any other personal matters.  The hours are normal but you won’t be allowed to leave the office as they don’t have a replacement. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Corporate office is unprofessional and childish. They have a handbook but it’s just for show. This company does want they want and makes the rules as they go. It doesn’t care for their employees or their insured’s. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The typical day is providing quotes and explaining why they are required to purchase a membership or AD & D policy which is not refundable and doesn’t really provide much value and making sure the proper documentation is signed to hold the insured to the contract.

I have been with L.A. Insurance for 2 years now and I have had a very good experience. There is a very clear chain of command and everyone is very accessible and friendly. If I have any sort of issues my zone manager is easy to reach and helps every time, even the corporate people are quick to help and respond if needed. After  a brief training period you are given your own office to run and as long as you do your job well you will never have a problem. 
While this is not the sort of job that encourages call-offs or sudden time-off requests (You run the office by yourself so If you call-off they have to scramble to find someone to send to your office to cover you) they are very accommodating if you put in a time-off request and my zone manager does make an effort to accommodate me if I do have a sudden need for time off. Overall I would (and have) recommend this job to others. 

 They do not train well and have very poor communication. If you want good work it needs to start with a good solid plan. They just show you the bare minimum and throw you out there and then blame you for mistakes. They throw huge work loads on the few who would work and not pay you well yet paid the agents huge commission for poor work. The environment is toxic everyone blames everyone else when really it’s just poor communication, management and training. It all starts there. They do not value their employees and will happily replace you with the next person willing to get paid less to do your job and keep the cycle going. There is so much miscommunication it leads to the agents making fraudulent careless mistakes and decisions because at the end of the day they only care about the sales and numbers. They did not care about writing good clean business. No morals or work ethics. 

Typical day opening up store alone, answering phone calls while trying to assist customers in office. Very hectic and put was very low (9.50 hourly). The work schedule was always made last minute so you never get room to plan personal appointments or activities with time off. If a coworker calls in while you have a day off you are expected to come into work. No type of benefits while you work here. Most of the time you work differently offices and they do not reimburse you for driving around. No lunch time or breaks so depending on how busy you are you might not eat all day. Too much is expected for so little pay.

What is the best part of working at the company?
LA Insurance was an amazing Company to work with.  The Corporate Staff assists you whenever you need it.  Definitely Team Players!  Training & Mentorship at its finest!  If ever you see an opening,  make sure to apply!  You will be glad you did!  The pandemic changed my Career goals OR I would still be there. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Stressful part of working at LA Insurance? There wasn't one.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Basically,  you work at your own Office.  The Office is very modern and you have all the updated tools to run a successful Agency.

Low hourly pay, no paid vacation or time off, no benefits or healthcare coverage. Schedule is made last minute and you never know which days you will have off (if you have a day off) until the last minute. You are expected to be available if someone calls in on days you have off and sometimes you are also asked to travel 30 miles+ to other locations. You receive no lunch hour but depending on how busy the office is sometimes you can take a quick break to eat until the next customer walks in. You do get to meet a lot of people (clients) and if you are good at the job you also make some commission.

You do not get noticed, the only time you get noticed is if you get in trouble for something, there is never advancement in this company, meaning you will be in the same spot with the same pay for ever unless you try and ask for it and even then if you do get a raise they will take about 2 months to give it to you. No paid time off, no benefits, the pay is very poor. I do not recommend this job at all they will give you more and more work almost always and expect you to be on point but do not like to give raises or more money.

Work-life balance
They are low ballers tell you one thing in the interview and pay you a different thing if you are not meeting any goals your paycheck is about 400 a week working 6 days a week for 9.30 hours with very envious agents and will fire you for no reason

They are low ballers paying 80 per day for a 9.30 hour shift lack of professionalism in manegement and will no get commissions if you are not meeting goals which go up month to month

Please do not put yourself through this it’s not worth it! Very poor management they do not care about you at all. The commission is horrible you work really hard and work long hours for little pay. Your managers don’t help you so you’re lost all the time.  They have you in an office alone that have little to no supplies and it takes months to get your supplies when they give it. Very unprofessional people to work with they only care about the company not their employees!!
