This is not an assisted living facility as they would like you to believe. They will sell it to you like it's Disneyland but this is a nursing home and I am not just referring to the memory care unit. I was hired as a med tech, however upon my first day on the job I found myself working as a caregiver. Of course I was told everyone has to be cross-trained. In that case I would assume I would be trained in my primary job as a med tech first. The management is severely lacking. They will ask you to work 16 hours shifts and if you say no, they will be passive aggressive and not speak to you. They will have you lifting patients who cannot at all help themselves who weigh far more than what is described in the job description. They will lie to you and tell you you'll get a bonus for working a 16-hour shift but good luck getting that bonus. Seriously this place is bad. Patient rooms wreak of urine and feces because there is one caregiver per floor and about 20 patients per floor. So one person for 20 patients. Trust me your walkie-talkie will be going off constantly and you will not be able to get to patients in a timely manner. Getting a meal to a patient seems more important than actual patient care. I realize they need to eat but if I have to sponge bathe someone from head to toe because they're laying in their own feces, and someone has to wait to receive their meal in their room, there's a problem. Anyone can deliver a meal to a room. The stress of keeping up with the amount of patience you have and no support whatsoever is insurmountable. I wish I could give this employer zero stars but that is not an option. Also, if you are thinking of having a family member, friend, neighbor stay at LCB Senior living please don't. They will be paying upward of $10,000 per month in rent and will be receiving minimal care due to lack of staffing and management. Patients in the memory Care unit who often have undesirable behaviors due to their conditions, our medicated to the point of not being able to hold their head up. That way the staff doesn't have to deal with them. It is sad beyond words.

I very much enjoyed working here helping the residents as much as I could, and they were always appreciative. I would receive compliments on a daily basis from residents and family members on how helpful and kind I was, which made my day. I also made associate of the month.

After I gave my two week notice (I had moved) I was told at an associate meeting by the ED that I was welcome back anytime. That made me feel good. It made sense as I am hard working, reliable and fun to work with. 

So when I moved back to Dover I was so excited to see that they were hiring for a position I was in previously. They wouldn’t need to train me, and they know I’m responsible and reliable. I applied, then called and spoke to the department head. I then left a voicemail for the ED. It’s strange that I never hear back from either. 

There are a few directors that need to get over themselves and stop bullying their associates with unnecessary criticism, and stop speaking to them as if they don’t matter. It certainly does not make for a positive working environment. I always tried to not let it get to me or take it personally by keeping in mind the joy it brought me to help the residents, and that I have no idea what they are going through.

I think it’s cruel to tell someone they’re welcome back anytime, and not follow through.

When I started at this company i was promised many things, all of which were not provided, i was not provided the hours and free time i was told I would have, I was promised a certain about of company shirts to wear to work, which was not provided I was only provided one and still have not been given another. Higher up staff seems to be uncaring, and not aware of the problems going on, as well as the lack of empathy, care, kindness, or understanding of the residents emotional and physical needs from the staff members. 

I have seen my coworkers more often than not ignore the needs, and comments made by residents more than they offer help and care to them. It's a surprise to me based on the high praise the company gives themselves the low quality staff members they seem to hire. Not to mention the language barrier constantly causes issues in communication between staff members and I, as well as residents and staff members. 

My coworkers has blatantly talked about me behind my back, but not for the reasons you would expect, because I offered my residents help when they requested, and was told specifically not to do so by other staff members. 

The only thing keeping me here is trying to be a better source of care and assistance to the residents, the level of care and kindness that I feel they deserve. 

All in all don't work here. 

This company uses people. They will bleed you dry, blame you for everything they failed to accomplish, then think nothing of dismissing you despite your dedication and allegiance to the community and the residents. It starts from the mediocre top and trickles down to the lowest of low standards. It's a toxic culture of finger-pointing, playing "gotcha," making sure things look good even when they suck, and tossing around their favorite word: "support." Here's a heads-up: there's no support in this company. If you ask for it, the regional or director will ask you, "Well, what do YOU think you should do?" Then, they will write you an email and copy your boss and several other people on the details of your conversation so you can follow-up when you've magically divined the answer to your own questions and resolved your own problems with no help from anyone at all whatsoever. My suggestion, should you consider applying to work for LCB Senior Living? Don't. Run away, and run away very fast. Just ask ANYONE in the industry who has ever formerly worked for this company; any other senior living company is better to work for. Unless you have no qualifications for the position to which you are applying and enjoy a high school "mean girls" atmosphere of lies, backstabbing, and tear-inducing betrayal, save yourself and overlook any posting that comes from this company.

Management is very busy in meetings all day, one could wonder if those meetings could be clustered and shortened to enable management to work with residents and associates as a team - there is a hard line - you are a manager or you are not, you can feel the difference. Bonuses are given to managers and nothing is given to the associates doing the work to earn those bonuses. There were no bonuses or additional PTO hours given to those who worked through a COVID outbreak and directly with COVID patients. PTO time was greatly used during the pandemic, LCB would not allow use of COVID days for symptomatic family or symptomatic associates causing many to drown their PTO balance and have nothing left to recover after working through an outbreak. Associates who go above an beyond are not recognized. Associates are over worked. Overtime is not allowed, there is no attempt from management to help get the job done to prevent overtime. Harassment policy is a joke, HR gives a nice speech about it upon hire, they will not do anything. Corporate will come on site and speak to managers only, there is no communication with associates who are not management, very rude. Staffing is not adequately adjusted with resident ratio changes. 

Taking this exciting position with LCB Senior Living and their first community in Pennsylvania has been the most exciting and rewarding challenge of my career.  

While becoming part of an experienced and professional team after almost 30 years of freelancing has been a big adjustment, I wake up every morning looking forward to the day's activities and how my contribution matters.

As my team prepares for our new community to open, I'm proud to be bringing LCB's innovative style to the local Senior population. Not only do I believe that we'll provide the highest level of care possible, I'm confident that The Residence at Chadds Ford will be filling a huge void in the local Senior Living market.

Joining the project while still in the construction phase has granted me the privilege of helping to build LCB's brand identity in this market. Every step of the way, I have been asked for my thoughts and perspective. I truly feel heard and that my opinions and recommendations are valued and respected.  

I can't think of anything negative to say about this company and my experience so far. I would recommend anyone interested in making a significant contribution to better living for seniors to join LCB. You'll find yourself on the right team.

I spent 3.5 years here in the Reflections Memory Care Neighborhood as an Engagement Assistant. I was given mutual love and respect by the residents, their families, and my fellow associates. I was given stellar reviews each year and often reminded how my talents keep the ship sailing smoothly. I was proud of my work and my company until my spirit was broken when I was seeing incredible loyal hardworking people being driven out by greed, power, and intimidation. When I tried to stay and pursue other positions where I could demonstrate my admin expertise and a higher level of leadership and compensation, I was told because I know and love the residents, families, and associates so well, it would be wise for the hiring managers to choose someone who has no historical knowledge of the building and the people within. I was gutted. I felt I was being held hostage in a low paying position and realized I would be overlooked for the next round of vacancies. I resigned immediately and look forward to securing employment where I can grow and earn a better wage. I’ll miss my fellow associates, residents and families. I’m a better person because of them.

LCB Senior Living as a whole could not be a more awful company in regards to treatment of their employees. In the short time I have worked for them, I needed to reach out to HR 3 times to file harassment complaints. Each time, my concerns went unheard and the issues went unfixed. This company preaches all about "family," "working together as a team," and "wanting everyone to succeed" but that cannot be farther from the truth. I was set up to fail from the second I entered the position. I had 0 support from above, and I was treated like scum on the bottom of a shoe. There is 0 work-life balance, they expect you to spend long days, late nights, and weekends working past your expected shift, and they have a major issue if you dare come to them with a request of a schedule change. Corporate is full of nasty people who do everything they can to belittle you and make push you out of a position. In the short time I was there the turnover, not just of staff, but of directors was enormous. 5 directors left within 4 months. This negatively affects the lives of all residents who live there (mind you, they can't even hold full capacity), and it breaks my heart for all the residents and their families the turnover and negativity affects. 

Where would I begin with Lcb Senior Living. This company is comical. The company is so unsophisticated in so many ways and it trickles down top to bottom. They use people when they talk about company “culture” they say one thing that means another. Most employees are so unaware to what’s going on and surprised when they do find something out last minute like a new program or policy. The toxic finger pointing and lack of self awareness comes from the top. This company can’t acknowledge or take responsibilities for their own actions and people at the very top in corporate it will never look good. They’re so unaware of their surroundings and what goes on it seems at their communities. Regional directors (I use that term loosely) are either plain useless or lack awareness. There is a set of standards for regional directors compared to the average employee on my time on the job and that’s not professional nor makes it right.
The aptitude is astounding… The “culture” is not what they promise or deliver just to fill a number at the end of the day. Stay far away 

One can expect a typical day in their building to be understaffed in all departments. LCB does not staff adequately staff to state regulations. As an Executive Director, I learned not to ask the regional & corporate team for assistance they just ignore your request and penalize you for asking. The company corporate team speaks about culture “ Great Care” but they do not practice what they preach. Corporate and Regional team all work from home. They rarely visit a building & when they do they hide in an office, do not speak to the associates or residents . The hardest part of being the Executive Director was meeting the residents needs. As the resident acuity increased with each admission, LCB continued to not allow the appropriate staffing in all departments. The RDO and Regional Directors were always cutting back on staff.  However,  increasing resident fees continued constantly. The overall lack of support from the  RDO & Regional Director of Care  was incredibly disappointing.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the  residents, their families and the great associates in the community.
