You can pick jobs from an app so its very easy to make your schedule how you need it or see fit. Sometimes there isnt alot to choose from and other days there is plenty of jobs so the app can be a little "iffy" on if you'll find anything but when that is happening you can call the offices and they'll help and tell you if there's jobs not listed on your app which there usually is. You may not see the jobs for different reasons caused by the settings on your app. Like your location or what you have for skills put down so if you play with your settings a bit you can also find some jobs you may not see at first.  The one thing I've had to deal with that I really didn't enjoy waa getting sent to a job that was shut down due to someone falling off the roof. However they paid me for showing up which should be 4 hours but they only gave me 3 hours which I'm going to dispute when I do I should get that 4th hour as if you communicate with them, its pretty easy to get what you need. I love the work today get paid today aspect but some days you get paid the next day , basically if they're open when your hours are sent in you'll be paid but like on the weekends you'll usually be waiting until Monday. I like working for people ready but sometimes the pay is a bit unfair as some jobs are extremely strenuous and you barely get a break also you're only getting a few minutes of "training" when you walk in the door and they get paid ALOT , A VERY LOT to have you go to the job yet sometimes you're only getting 13.50. Most jobs are 15, 16 and sometimes you'll stumble upon an 18 dollar an hr job but my friend took one of those and it was impossible for him to do it , it was far too physically demanding. As a female I am working alot of jobs guys often do but I enjoy it and learning all the different jobs is great for when you're looking for a permanent job having people ready on your resume I think is very beneficial. For every 30 hrs work you get 1 hour sick pay. Which I recently found out. You'll find out things like this from other workers not usually from people ready themselves. They are always extremely helpful when you call them but I've ran into only one employee who was extremely rude because my friend called off one job. Never call off a job on the app or eventually you'll never see work on it. They won't tell you this, if you do call off on the app call them right away to tell them why but your best bet is to call them to call off a job and have them take you off that job "ticket" because you don't want to be kicked off the app. The places you work for have the right to "DNR" you which means do not return so don't just mess around work hard and you'll usually be asked to return which it's always good to have a "steady ticket" and a job you can return. to often so you don't have to deal with the app so much and many many different jobs. However that's just part of working for them, you'll work many different types of jobs again I find this to be beneficial for a resume. Some offices like Brockton have vans that will drive you to work but not all offices do this. The day I signed up to work,  is the day I started work and you get your pay card right away too. That was great. All and all its decent temp work  that prepares you for alot of jobs you may have known nothing about before and can become experienced in quickly. 

...in that one must anticipate moves, plan, weigh outcomes, yet both good and unfavorable outcomes result consistently.  You have to be strategic, patient, persevering, forgiving and undaunted to work here, and it's also helpful to know (and/or learn) how to handle company policy and local, state and federal violations.  Strategically, it helps to understand that no matter how well you calculate your next move, some job ops aren't advantageous whereas one will be joyful experiences that seemingly end starkly.  The many "ups"  encourage returning for more job ops, things like next-day pay or retuning to a pleasant company shift once you know what the workday will likely entail.  In my case as a direct deposit temp, I get paid within three days, unless the client opts not to pay.   My and any US  state's Wage and Hour dispute process will help with wage recovery so long as they have jurisdiction, although that may take months.  In 2021, it took my state about 4 months to reimburse me of unpaid  wages.  That aside, additional "ups" are aspects like learning about companies (like working the auto auctions) that I didn't know existed, learning about other's general and work experiences without the affiliation constructs typical in traditional working environments- there's not generally a "work culture" at play, there's just individuals that you can gravitate towards, remain indifferent to, or avoid, and nobody really cares. There's a lot of acceptance and tolerance generally that falls in line with the Golden Rule, which I find uncommon.   Other "ups" are the variety of job ops, the overall lack of pressure about committing to a predetermined, long-term schedule,  being able to select jobs from the JobStack app locally and further by adjusting one's profile "Travel Preferences", and access to new experiences.  Cons:  high likelihood of infrequent JobStack ops, typically low (hourly only) wages, local office is highly-unlikely to but may on occasion deliver safety equipment to work sites, company typically aligns with their clients administratively but DO take measures to protect temp workers (moreover avoid incurring legal liability) by employing drug testing and drug screening.  Company offers a $4-$10 per passenger payment to drivers who drive other PeopleReady temp workers to worksites (although  what does that REALLY cover in 2023?).  Temp workers should be guarded about  divulging personal information.  Trying to "catch" and research unfamiliar jobs (i.e., location, what to bring, wear, etc.) is a lot like trying to catch bubbles midair before they pop, and last but not least, they're rumored to employ office favorites more frequently:  not everyone sees all the available jobs.  To attempt to see available jobs, you have to check your app habitually from 5:45 AM (maybe hourly?).  You CAN work here if transit-dependent, but you have more options if you have reliable transportation.  You’ll find that there’s people who’ve worked through PeopleReady for years, and it’s straightforward to stay active in their system.  But it doesn’t offer reliability or performance references for future employment.  The office personnel will not offer references.  

People Ready, I have mixed feelings about as a company and organization. I can say it has served its purpose well, as far as the app and upper management is concerned. Most of the employers and companies that I have work, I’m going to say are well deserving of an A/A+. I know what’s expected of me when I walk through the door, and there’s typically people in place that know where to point me and focus on through the entire day. 

I realize everyone’s experience is different. I cannot attest to anyone else’s positive or negative experience. I can only give my personal account. I generally understand the nature of the business, along with the difficulties of the new app.  The app does present some difficulties. though it does the job it’s intended to do.  It’s pretty easy to use and manage with very little difficulty in functionality. 

Some of the Atlanta offices are a completely different story. I don’t know what their deal is, but they can come off as petty, condescending, dismissive, and generally unthoughtful.  I have good experiences with most of the office — Atlanta, Hapeville, Marietta, and Athens. There seems to be a great level of communication between the work site and offices, for the most part.

My worst experiences are with Norcross and ATL Hospitality. I really can never get on the same page with these two. They often go against what the vendor’s requests. I often feel a lot of favoritism and pettiness are prominent to both offices. The vendors are pretty much on your side, if you do committed and quality work. But, the offices often make it abundantly clear that you are a disposable temp worker and your time is worthless . You are a faceless person and stat, which I do understand is the level of difficulty that many business have given the size. I know the offices are there to regulate the management of jobs in each given area, but I feel that it might as well be a person in another city or outside companies who can handle this aspect of the company. I have a lot more faith in the app than I do these particular sites. Again, I do understand the limitations of the app, but to have the office messing up some very routine consistently aspires zero confidence on my end.

I’ve never felt the need to walk off the job site or quit in assignment, because I was lazy or tired. But, to have an early morning dispatcher keep reiterating things as a child, while I don’t have any negative marks from the vendors or dismissals. Often, makes me think that a bulk of the problems are with the dispatcher who are not regulating this process, like it should be handled.

Your not gonna get rich working here but pay daily is nice this is a great place to work as a second source of income ... Work when you like without obligation but as a career this is a no go for sure! It's always nice to have a way to make a little extra cash on the side at your leisure. If you just want to work here and there to make some extra cash to catch up on bills or because you have something coming up than this is a great place to work. Expect to make something like 10 an hour so at the end of the day if you work an 8 hour shift you will get a solid 65 bucks or so loaded on a pre paid card that they give you which is also nice and if you go to an allpoint atm which are located at a lot of cvs pharmacies then it's free to take out the money otherwise beware because you will get charged not only the fee at the atm but a charge from the card itself for using an atm outside of there network so on average 4 to 6 dollars just to take cash out. Anyways overall this place is A OK by me but it's all about how you are using this place . If your not relying on people ready to live and pay your bills and it's just to help making ends meet or for extra cash then I think you will find it satisfactory. I find people that complain and bi*ch about the place are usually people with criminal records and felonies who have a hard time finding work to begin with and rely on this place to live and pay there bills which in that case can be frustrating if you have to find work everyday through them and it may not always be available. Which brings up another great point if you have a felony or felonies the does not disqualify you from working for people ready but it will limit the jobs that you can work on but there are still a lot of jobs that you can work on and as a felon it's hard to find work so you have to be greatful that this place is not just pushing you aside and not offering you any work at all. Let's all try to be appreciative of the small things here rather than worry and complain about everything else instead yeah? What is the best part of working at the company?
When I was able to commute, I loved working for this agency.  I actually was with them when they changed their name to People Ready. I worked with this agency getting assignments working a variety of different jobs, from construction clean up, to banquets and C.O.T.A. ( racetrack). I worked cleaning commercial businesses and events. I even worked at an auction showcase. I found the experience exciting,  flexible and had many opportunities to get hired full time with many of their clients, but loved the flexibility and the changing of tasks thrilling that when I couldn't commute anymore I was addressing the interest of opportunities of where I reside now. I loved being able to get paid daily. It worked for me.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The commute to and from the job sites. Some places theres no busses that run so having a reliable transportation is a must,  in my opinion.  At times when you arrive at a jobsite the full time employees shun the day laborers and find us intimidating as we are working hard in making a good impression to be requested by name to work again. Sometimes the on-site workers found the intimidating presence so overwhelming that they wouldn't instruct us correctly just to have job security. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It varies based on the assignment of job your matched to go perform.  If you are a regular employee at any given site, and the client loved the way you worked and provided good team production they would request you by name so you would have a sure ticket on an assignment everyday if your available. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It varies based on the assignment you get that day. You arrive on-site, check in your availability and wait to be processed through their client list of the day some are repeated some are new, some you receive via text messages, you have a choice of how you want to register yourself for the day. It's also about building a reputation for your work, so it's important that you perform at your best.

The day would start with me opening the office at 5:30 AM . I had to make sure that all our job tickets were printed and organized. Make sure to check answering service. If there were any cancellations I would have to make note of them. If there were new requests for labor I would have to put that order in and make up the ticket. And assign the job to however many people it was asking for. This would sometimes require me to put out calls to find people to work. Other duties included making collection calls, reading and sorting the mail for the manager. The duties of this job are various and too numerous to mention in this short space.
There were two things about this job I found hardest, when I had orders for laborers and not enough people to fill the ticket. Our clients depended on us to get them the people they needed and if i didn't do that they would look elsewhere. I prided myself on being able to get them what they wanted. The other part was when I had employees in the office willing to work and no jobs to send them too. I had to make calls to look for work for them. It was hard because these people depended on me. This was usually the only income they had and it was hard to disappoint them.
I think the most enjoyable part was when I could put a paycheck in someone's hands for an honest days work and I saw their satisfied smile.
I liked my coworkers but the manager of the branch I worked in asked me to do things I felt weren't examples of good business practices. I was caught between doing as she told me, with the strong possibility of me getting fired if I didn't or telling upper management. I felt that this would be her word against mine. That is actually why I left the job. I must add that though I didn't like that part of the job I did like my manager.

I was at one time happy with my career. I worked at Spartan Staffing/PeopleReady as a staffing specialist/recruiter and I loved my job. I was placing people in permanent jobs that they loved, and changing people's lives. The company decided to combine the day labor and temp to perm offices, and make several management changes, and things went downhill fast. Managers with experience, knowledge of the job market and demographic of their area, and proven skills to grow the company were let go and a new, younger group of "managers and leaders" were brought in to replace them. The new "leaders" had little to no understanding of the job, and were relying on the employees to run things. It was explained to them how the operations were handled and proven successful for years, but they still decided they knew better and completely changed the way the company operated. People not from the area with no knowledge of the job market, and no willingness to study the data, made decisions that negatively affected the company and their employees; both internal and contracted. The more pushback from the ones who knew this would negatively affect the company, the more changes (firings/repremands) were made. Morale was at an all time low. In a matter of two years, one of the most successful branches of the company went from award-winning numbers to shut down completely. If you have the opportunity to work for this company, it would be in your best interest to turn it down. Upper level management has issues with people who have proven to be successful with operations and ideas that differ from their own. Instead of working together to improve, they push out the ones who disagree with their agenda. They took what was once a flourishing company, and ran it into the ground with their blindness to accept that some knew better. 

Spartan Staffing in all is a decent place to be registered with if you require work and have experience in General or Manufacturing Experience.  They place you in Full-Time Status work but mostly Temporary Work as you are labeled Temp-To-Hire.  Unfortunately most of the times it ends in termination after a Month or Two of working through each company.  They do provide Health Care for Individuals as well as Family Coverage in Vision, Dental and Primary Health but ONLY when you are currently working at an assigned job location.

Spartan does consider all jobs assigned as Full-Time, HOWEVER most jobs they list are 7 and 1/2 hours instead of 8 as they do not place you the Full 8 hours.  All of the jobs I have been assigned to thus far have been 7 and 1/2. Your supervisor at the assigned jobs however most of the time will ask you to stay the full 8 hours.

Spartan does require you to be available at all times, unfortunately this causes a draw back if you have small children and your spouse works or your unable to find a sitter. As experienced, I have had to turn down job offers due to immediate need of placement at the assigned job.  Unfortunately if you collect unemployment, this is a very bad situation if you turn down work through them.

If you do turn down work, they seem to place you on an availability list but you do get sent lower paying jobs at this point.  I have seen this several times dealing with the company BUT they will always find work for you at some point.

Spartan all in all is not a bad place to work but would recommend you try and find real employment while temporarily employed through Spartan.

Literally .  Not the branches fault necessarily , but half the time the job is back breaking labor , either a super short or a really long shift . Not always a middle ground. I’m saying it’s not necessarily the branches fault , but I believe the assistants and branch managers and also CSR’s are at fault for it to a point for lack of communication and lack of professionalism with the workers / clients. So I’m sure clients have stopped using people ready for this reason. Also , I do get that this is temp work , but you work for low , laughable wages. You might be doing construction clean up , and they’re paying you a mere 9$ while the “real “ crew members make way over double ! I love JobStack because you can literally pick and choose what you want to work - so you’re not obligated to something. Situations occur when the client sends you home and doesn’t need you and / or cancels the shift . There’s usually another job on the app so it’s not  a big deal.  I do feel though the office workers could use fired . I’ve over heard reps talking aggressively , badly , demeaning crew (I mean temp workers as crew ) , but they won’t stop blowing your phone up when needing someone. ( I mean calls , not texts but I like those )I’ve only had an issue with pay a couple times  but in my opinion you should NEVER have an issue . I have a lot of “issues “ at home so I don’t work a job with a 9-5 so to speak . But also an issue with job stack is that the customer doesn’t always put the accurate job description . So you’re surprised .. it limits me because I can’t do certain tasks and if there isn’t much of a job description I don’t accept it . Again not the offices fault necessarily BUT they don’t communicate with us and the client so I believe it is . Would o recommend to a friend ? Yes , as a “second job “ . Which is what I use it for

Poor leadership Teams. Operation Managers offer little to no support, and the director is either oblivious or completely absent. Leadership will claim to take employee feedback, but never does anything to show it. Very reactive management styles and in no way are they proactive. Leadership only shows up when something goes wrong and they need someone to point the finger at. Once you become knowledgeable of most areas of the business, management will push their job duties onto you and then get on to you about working overtime. When leadership is active, they make it clear that despite the law, they will always play favorites with people who have been in the company for 10+ years, like the sales teams. Which brings me to my next point. 

It is a Sales Driven environment gone horribly wrong. Account Managers who have been with the company for years either don't like to go do their jobs and help build the customer base, or they are horribly disrespectful to the fulfillment teams. Ideally, account managers would go out, establish new business, and ensure all necessary is provided to ensure associates and the fulfillment team has all the information they need, but that doesn't happen.

I was promised opportunities for growth in this company and have yet to receive any substantial promotions. Yet I know I am a valuable employee because my team relies on me more for assistance than their own managers. After 3 layoffs in the last year, the team is understaffed in a high volume work environment with no reliable management. I will never EVER recommend this company to anyone.
