I really enjoyed my direct supervisor, however the program director seemed a little distant. I no longer work here due to the pay they would compensate me for the level of education and additional certificates needed for the position. Upon leaving the organization, I felt like the program director did not appreciate or acknowledge the work I’ve done and I got the impression that they felt my salary was appropriate 
Needless to say I have never felt happier to leave this organization. It does have a reputation for underpaying significantly in the field. I do think it is a good right of college job to get your feet wet. 

I really enjoyed working for this company. It is smaller compared to other corporations. Initially it was daunting because I felt I was being thrown into a position I did not receive much training on however through trial and error and the support of my direct supervisor I was able to get a handle on my position. I would say the hardest part is establishing a relationship with the school districts. Aside from that, Lakeside made me feel heard and my well-being was valued just as much as the clients we served. Unfortunately, I no longer work at this organization due to compensation reasons and minimal room for upward growth. 

Helping struggling teens get their education and high school diploma. Supporting them with their difficulties and teaching them life skills.

Management/Supervisor had poor management skills.

The hardest part of the job - very difficult taking time off. Demanding job due to transporting students to and from school.

Awarding and feeling accomplished when positive feedback is given from the students and/or staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone is kind, caring and genuine. They want the best for their employees and the children we serve. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The school district admin doesn’t necessarily “align” with the Lakeside team all of the time. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supportive and authentic in their desire to help their employees do their best work.

I have been working at Lakeside for one year, and love how supportive the staff are here. My supervisor and director focus on my strengths and are quick to provide positive feedback. The team is very focused on helping youth who have struggled in traditional school settings, and there is a sense of mission. The pay is not as good as other places, but the environment, support, and importance of the work make up for it.

From a lack of support to lies from my direct supervisor and upper management, my mental health was never worse while working for this company. While they claim one of their values is treating staff well, when I needed support they failed me. Don't trust anyone. Pay is also awful and there are no opportunities for advancement. Some coworkers were nice but leadership is clueless and incompetent.

Good company to work for. Truly cares about the populations they serve. Strive to stay on top of current mental health practices that will assist at-risk youth in getting through school and becoming productive members of society.

Fun co-workers that really care about each other.

Most professional organization I've worked for, great coworkers and the organization is headed in the right place. The nature of the students can be difficult however the teachers and administration always are looking out for each other. Everyone wants the best for the students.

Good place to get counseling experience if you enjoy working with kiddos. They prioritize supervision and continuing education for the staff. Supervisors are supportive

Great support from direct supervisors. Low pay but they try to make up for it in flexibility and other perks. Also, a lot of opportunities for continuing education.
