Compensation vs. workload: Staff are not being paid what they’re truly worth, adding financial stress on top of emotional strain.

Overall Atmosphere:

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical workday involves managing a high caseload, often around 32 clients per week as mandated by leadership. The schedule can be demanding, leaving limited time for documentation, planning, or professional development.

Much of the day is spent directly with clients, conducting therapy sessions, while balancing administrative tasks, paperwork, and navigating the EHR system. Staff report that the pace can be intense, and support from leadership varies depending on the situation.

Remote employees may benefit from flexibility, but the workload expectations remain high.

You’re over-worked, under supported, and underpaid. There are good people who work there, no doubt. But the case loads are too high, the case managers are made to be the bad guys, there is no security, only techs. There is not enough support for clinical staff (or any staff for that matter) from the higher-ups. Clinical staff needs more PTO and smaller case loads. The responsibility for things getting done falls 90% on the therapist. This place needs a serious face-lift. Oh! How could I forget. THERE IS NO WIFI IN THE BUILDING AND YOU DO EVERYTHING BY HAND. That’s right. Every note, every tx plan…every single thing goes into a PAPER chart. What a joke. Charts constantly go missing. What is this, 1995? Plus, at this level of care, notes are due in 24 hours. I don’t understand how Lakeview expects everyone to get their paperwork done in a timely manner when you are writing every little note, tx plan, communication log, etc by hand. I felt like my hand was going to fall straight off. If Acadia wants Lakeview to succeed, then there needs to be some serious financial and HR investments to create a happy staff - and therefore, a successful treatment center. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Work with patients and seeing them changing for the better. Team work was also a very positive experience I had at Lakeview. Our nurse supervisor was very helpful and supportive to the staff and always available to address issues arising.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Violence by patients especially the juvenile, they are unpredictable and are ready to fight with their colleagues and the staff members. Also none compliance of some patients to have them rounded after every 5 minutes

Good but I feel certain managers have been very unfair to some workers. They terminated staff contracts without being heard  part of their story

It’s good but some supervisors favor other employees than others. Not because they work hard but because they know them

I enjoyed most of the colleagues. Collaborating on difficult situations 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Owner and upper management have narsasistic attitudes and are very cut throat. Owner has had unethical personal relationships with staff. Overworked has unrealistic goals to meet. Average employee length of employment is about 5 years. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If you keep to yourself you can usually fly under the radar. Don’t ask too many questions or your time will be short lived. One week you can have a great peer review and the next week be terminated without warning.

Typical days are a whirlwind. Always having to be on your toes. Always putting out fires

At Lakeview Behavioral Health, each day is never the same, which is the nature of our business and allows continual motivation as an employee to provide the best care to our clients.  This job allows someone to continually learn and grow.  A typical day includes interacting with client's by providing them education, counseling/therapy and case management in order to support their needs and help them recover.  Lakeview Behavioral Health provides a self driven atmosphere but encourages employees to work as a team in order to provide each client maximum benefits from our services.  The hardest part of this job is making sure to find balance and incorporate self care in an effort to be at your best!  The best part of this job is seeing the transformation client's make from the services we provide at Lakeview Behavioral Health.

This is a really good company to work for.The only thing that I would say is that HR does not help you with ANYTHING.. If you have a anything scheduled you better handle it yourself because HR has no urgency for your medical issues. They also DO NOT help if you want to transfer. You better help yourself. Management is good at times. They sometimes have attitudes and show no type of care for you.. I like that they hire within the company before going out and getting someone that's not apart of this company. There is really room for growth with Acadia. People see things how they want to if you do your job then there is nothing to worry about. Speak up VOICE your opinion it really does help even though it has to be voiced more than once. The pay can be better but its doable.

Good: I enjoyed working with housekeeping staff members, front desk staff members, and behavioral health technicians. We made each other laugh and turned bad days into fun and happy days. 

Bad: management does not try to improve the culture of the facility; they are more focused on bringing in money. There are room for improvements for the patients and lessening the load for staff members. You have to wear many “hats”. There is a lot of unnecessary drama at the facility. 

If you want to get your feet wet and start somewhere, then I would recommend this facility. But do not invest your time and energy in thinking things will improve because it won’t. Just focus on the opportunity and move forward. 

This place is horrible to work at, do not do it.  Upper management is horrible, they talk to you as if you are begging them to work there. Very disrespectful and nasty in their culture. The patient’s are really there because they need help but it’s really about the money not about patient care. Most nurses and regular staff work there because they truly care and want to help, but management is despicable and disgusting in their culture and behavior towards staff. Hear me when I say DO NOT do it. Don’t risk your nursing license or mental health for the mess of a place. 

This is a great place to learn about boundaries and professionalism. This job taught me all about what I don't want in my next position or the next company that I join.  Everything is disorganized, the leadership team is money hungry and does not care if the patients get help or not. After witnessing so many horrible things, and seeing the State pop in to visit too frequently I knew it was time to leave. Everything down to the HR department is corrupt. If you take a job here please read up on the complaints and unspeakable treatment of the patients from past years and know that things have not changed much at all.

A regular workday at Lakeview consisted of staff shortages, no support, short breaks, overworked, working in hazardous conditions, and dealing with unstable patients. I have learned nothing from working there except listening to job reviews. Also, management sucked, especially the CNO. The workplace culture was okay, at least for me. I didn't have any serious issues with other employees, but that's not to say the same for others. The hardest part of the job was showing up and not walking OUT!! Every day was a challenge. There was nothing enjoyable about this job! It was one of the worst places I have ever worked!
