My first impression was wow. This is an awesome place, great benefits, culturally diverse, until management changed. There is a pattern,  management changes on average about every 2-3 years. New management means new adjustments. The clients get the worst end of the tail wind. If you're in upper management you will be highly compensated but the intention is you're a contract employee (at will) expectations are for you to produce or good bye. No hesitation or regards for your personal stories.  I would not choose this organization for a long-term career choice.  It is just a job for a quick buck and immediate benefits. GOOD LUCK!

Lantern is a nonprofit organization that helps formerly homeless families and single adults, as well as young adults who have left foster care, live independently.  It's full of really great staff who care deeply about their work.  Management is invested and has been working hard to make the organization a learning environment that's focused on quality and skill development.  There are many free trainings for staff, and more and more they provide CEU credits for LMSWs.  Very good benefits -- substantial paid time off (including your birthday), flex/comp time, sick days, 401k, and a health care plan that is very inexpensive for staff.  Work can be challenging because clients can be challenging, but most are very thankful for the help we give.  Highly recommend.

I have worked for this company from almost the start and I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn't know how had.  Management changes every two years and it becomes worse all as the "new crew" comes in.  I no longer work for this company and have realized it is for the best.  The clients were wonderful to work with, but the staff, upper management, I could have done without.  There is no direction and they are very secretive if something is bothering them, they do not confront.  I am a fairly independent person and when I go from being told that I am doing well and have freedom to micromanagement to the point, I feel stupid, it's not worth it.  They don't care about the staff at all, they don't care about the clients, they care about themselves.  This may be with most companies, but with this one, it's outright disgusting.  In short, the loonies are running the looney bin

This company does not care about the clients. They have fired over 15 people in 6 months and will continue to do so. They are in major  debt and continue to be involved in many scandals with President. I find it funny how all reviews for company were suddenly deleted.

Management is horrible and clients have died in their buildings without further investigation or explanation to the families.

The most enjoyable part of the job is working with the clients. The worst part is they have no real HR department, they expect case managers to have a licence while their bosses only have a Masters.

Do not speak up here or you will be fired I know this from experience. This company has many lawsuits so STAY CLEAR.

Open the office, starting up the copier, turning on the lights in the conference room. Making coffee, checking emails and sending out reminders to the case managers. Type up incident reports, taking minutes for meetings, and sending out updates. Ordering office supples. I have learned to take minutes for meetings, cultural competency for the LGBT community and have training as a mandated report for ACS. Co workers like team work and communication. The hardest part is to get follow ups from the case managers in regards to incident reports, housing inspections. The most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with some of the tenants

Encouragement of staff, and supervisor. 
Also the willingness allow new ideas.

When clients are hesitant in receiving care, that will require change and work.

Mostly calm and supportive. 
Staff are very helpful in getting clients to try new resources.

Can be very busy or very clam .
Clients who  are willing to invest in their life for change. Or  they are unsure of changes that they are not ready to apply.  So participation can be at most slow.

the best part about working with this company is learning how to kiss butt you will go further in your role.

The stressful part about working at Lantern is the amount of work they want you to do with very little support from staff.

The culture is if you are not down you will be left out.

The typical day is chaos from the people you are serving to the amount paperwork they are requesting.

The available training and information regarding types of training available.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The communication chain is convoluted,  too much hypocrisy.

They talk about Diversity Equity and inclusion but, it's not like that at all.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It's like walking through a dark room filled with cats and not stepping on any of the cats tails.

It was a good place to work. The staff was always engaging and exciting. There was  much conversation and interaction between everyone. The upper management were open to new ideas and their doors were always open for discussion. There were 15 different locations and when there were management meeting everyone was glad to see each other. We always had good gatherings in the summer time where we would meet and have fun competition between offices. They also had training sessions for everyone to attend which enhanced the efficiency of the staff. It was a good place to work,.

There is nothing good to report about working for Lantern Community Services.

The organization does not care about their employees.

The work environment and culture was horrendous. There is zero culture.

Psychological warfare- from the moment an employee steps into the office- the day is ruined.
