Axon was a good place to work, actually its an amazing place to work considering I completely respect what the company stands for, in all aspects!! Like every manufacturing place ive worked at, youll have a struggles between shifts but nothing too major, with that slight lack of communication between the carpet walkers, maintenance, shifts, supervisors, leads, and/or regular employees. Leadpoint is a good staffing company to work for, but look out for those fake shook ones and also you really can't really rely on anything they state in the orientation packet they give you, or whats wrutten on their website, and you definitely can NOT trust what comes out of their managers/supervisors mouths!!! Plus its the longest wait to get hired on permanently, 2 years atleast, and it'll seem good till it isnt. Leadpoint promotes itself on their website for being a second chance company and the day I went in and took my aptitude test, I made it known that I had felonies and I was told "no worries, you should be good! Plus if you're not good to work at the place we're trying to get you in at then we can definitely get you in somewhere else. It just so happens that Axon had a hiring freeze so when I didnt hear anything I just assumed that it was another job I didnt get! Then out of the blue 3 months later I got a call from leadpoint asking if I was still looking and I said yes I was and they gave me a start date. Thats when I asked about my background check and I was told "you're good to work!", and so I started the very next day. I made it thru 2 sets of layoffs and I believe leadpoint went thru 4 different onsite supervisors in my almost 3 years being employed with them. Each area ive worked in I did my best to learn everything I possibly could about my job and the last job I was doing, I knew those tools well enough that I had to train the lead who was brought in above me and also help the person who was moved from right under me to back up lead to make sure they were efficient enough to do their job. Then the company decided to change to longer shifts and that meant my shift was getting eliminated at one building and moved to a new building that had a special clearance. Well I talked to the supervisor that informed us about the move and when I told him I would pass that clearance for atleast 2 years cuz I have to wait 10 years to have my records sealed he said he was made aware of my situation, because I told others about and never hid what is part of my life now, and we came up with a plan so I could remain at my current building and even remain in my current position and shouldnt have to worry about searching for a new job. While we were discussing this plan this supervisor was on his laptop and he was pulling up my background check and when he found it he showed me that my background check came up clean, and I told him I dont know how since I was released 7days short of a year when they hired me and it had cost me 11 other chances of employment prior to being hired by them. I was sent back to my area to work with the assurance that I would still have a job. 12 days later I received a call from the supervisor who assured that I would have a job and I was fired over the phone, so not only did this person lie straight to my face, also completely unprofessional when I was terminated, especially due to the fact that I was suppose to get fired on a Monday but when I got out of the shower a returned the call I missed, I got voicemail 4 times, so I went to work Monday (and im guessing this was my "second chance" from them, cuz he wasn't answering his phone to fire me o  Monday due to 2 people calling in while I was in the shower and he didnt want them to be shorthanded, so then he waited till the last min on Tuesday, cuz I was about to leave for work this time when I got his call, and thats when I was fired over the phone when the rest of the people that ive seen fired from that place, allowed to go in and grab their personal belongings out of their locker or desk if they had one. I asked about MY personal belongings in my locker and was told they would be collected for me and I would get a phone call of when I could go pick them up. I wasn't offer a job to work for the other company that they staff who allows felons to work for them, I was just straight fired cuz of the incompetence of the company that Leadpoint hires to run background checks and this was their way of taking steps to do what manufacturing employees call CYA. Cuz seriously...their site states that they're a second chance employer, and in my 3 years working there i had one write up for attendance but then showed up for work every day for almost 2 years, and then had family issues towards the end but never got written up since I still had time left from my 5 sick days a year to cover when those family issues stirred up again and again. So as a second chance employer they are probably one of the worst to work for because them covering for themselves could leave you without a job, and I'm at a month and counting, waiting for my personal effects from my locker!

This one of those jobs where you realize that your time and health are worth more than the money they are paying you too be there all day for .
You will work 12 hours daily non stop constantly.
When I say constantly I mean that whole hartedly no meaningful breaks between .
You are basically looked at as equipment and really not much else . 
You will come home tired and late everyday with bearly enough time too eat properly and take a shower too be expected too be back again 10 hours later . The smell of a lot of the garbage will also cause you nausea after inhaling a combonation of that and the dust all day constantly.
the 700 honestly isn't worth the effort here too get it . I was seriously blessed enough too get a call on lunch while working here from another company for a less stressful opportunity and I took full advantage. They will try too put a battery in your back too keep you in that position because if you don't show up one of the supervisors has too do that role and they will be mad about it and take it personal. Too them this job comes before all of your personal life and your health .
Unless you really need a job and you have no other skills I would not recommend this place 






When I applied for the job, I saw the post saying it was a permanent job with the ability to move up. After doing the interview, and getting the position, I found out that we would be basically contracted to work at another location. The trainer at the location said that it usually takes 6-12 months to be hired on, but talking to other workers it takes more than that, sometimes a few years. 

You spend the first day or two training for your new position, then you get put on the line. The trainers tell you to focus on being accurate, and to not worry about speed for the first month or so, but the line leads always rush you so the line can make quota. Also in training, the trainers encourage people to take quick stretch breaks, but it almost never happens on the line.

If you've been out of work for awhile, and don't mind repetitive work, this job could work for you. Just be aware that moving up will be difficult and could take years.

They do a mouth swab which everyone can pass. People come in smelling like you know and they still pass and get the job. The pay is not good depending where you go. Their interview process is pretty much do you want to work here? If you say yes you get the job. You pull waste off a moving conveyor belt that goes really fast. Its supposed to be recyclable materials but its waste. You also pull off cardboard,  paper, and plastic. They go though management by the 100's and even more line leads within a 2 year time span. You work alot and you get told you work the weekends last min all the time and your expected to be there. It's not a good company to grow with. It's an ok company to get a job that day and work till you find a better job that pays more money. You also only get paid 3 holiday off after a whole year of working there. And you don't work holidays, but you do work every Sat after the holidays. 

Getting a job with Leadpoint is very easy to do. Its good to go green for the planet. If you would like to recycle then I advise you to apply with Republic management themselves. Leadpoint will work you like a slave if you're a hard worker. They always tell you to get this and or get that, but half of the things they tell you to get they don't even begin to grab. Overall, the job isn't hard nor really bad, besides the smell ( which you'll eventually get use to, maybe) and the leads ( that alway want to tell you what to do, but don't know how to take their own advice, nor have truly trained you). Leadpoint didn't train me on sorting, Republic Management worker taught me what I know about sorting. When the conveyor belt system gets stopped, jammed and or broken be prepared to pick up and or sweep up. They don't like when you have to call out. They asked ask why you wasn't there or what's going on. If a doctor's excuse is provide then I shouldn't be asked about my personal business.

It's an easy staffing agency to get on board with, BUT the assignments are poor for the rate of pay ($13.20/hr for a 10 hr shift = slave labor), among other issues.

At Axon/Taser, there is little to no work volume. It's laughable how you're expected to stretch a 2-3hr task into 9 hours of work. 

Then comes the insanity from the inevitable boredom from standing around for over an hour doing absolutely nothing waiting for the person next to you to finally give you ONE device to test if you're lucky. Every day was a literal struggle and fight for my mental health. 

No phones allowed is understandable, but leads carry them all the time. Even a contractor snuck around with his and C**ry never said a word. Favoritism? Or just wanted to seem like the cool lead. Idk.

Breaks are a joke. Basically always took away 5 minutes of each. 

On a positive note, the employees and SUPs are or seem cool.

They always make people work super super fast even though we already are working super super fast and also it gets exteramly cold in the winter if you’re working the 4 am shifts and they just leave all of the enormous doors open for the ice cold winds to blow on you. You have to work 2 hours no stop and then get like a 15 min break and then back to work for another 2 hours. Overall The job sucks and even though everyone was working the same exact hours (unless they had like 30 mins of overtime) people would still be getting under paid. The entire place smells like an absolute death hole because you’re literally sitting trash and garbage and all kinds of disgusting things and there’s heavy dust in the air and the masks they provide you with still don’t help against all the dust and at the end of the day you find yourself blowing built up dust out of your nose 

If you'd like to worry about the inconsistency of your check, how bad the management is, how a lot of employees leave and go. This your place to go! Clock ins are wrong. Had one lady clock me in at 6.23 when i arrived 6.02 am. How wonderful that they tell you on the dot at 6 am but yet clock in later. Also inconsistency of the amount of hours in your check which would explain the clocking in/out situation. Bad management no one seems to be on track like a chickens head off. No one seems to like the job too much for what your getting paid, breaks are 30 min but actually is 25 min cause they want u on the dot in your station. You work like a slave here. We've had a lot of employees about 6+ leave withing this week. Trust me you do not want to work, i advised you pick another job work at a fast food restaurant, etc. Thank you for reading this!

This company pays $12 an hour for a sorter position. That is not enough for all the Hazardous Waste we have to touch everyday. We should be making at least $15 per hour. A lot of the staff work hard everyday, and they should make more money. The supervisors and managers are cool people, but whoever calls the shots on the pay and the benefits needs to make some changes. We get no benefits besides paid sick time. There is no paid vacation time at all which is ridiculous. Between no vacation time and little pay this is why leadpoint can't keep anyone very long. All they need to do is make these two small changes and the company will be able to keep people. There are a lot of good people who work hard and deserve more. The sooner these changes happen the better, but I cannot recommend this company.

I started with Leadpoint Business Services as a sorter and wanted to grow with the company. I put my hard work and effort to show that I was worthy and ready to expand my knowledge of working in the MRF. I became a LINE LEAD a little over a year and continued to pursue my ability to show and prove that I could go to the next level. After 3 years, I became a Shift Manager, in charge of 60 or more employees, directing people and executing game plans on a daily basis. The focus was and is always to accomplish and meet the customers demands in production. With these skills that intact in my daily routine, I get to work on outdoing myself everyday to progress and to meet the results that are expected of me as a leader.
