Decent pay and benefits. 'Feel good' feeling and sense of altruism because you are contributing to saving lives. Most coworkers are kind and passionate because they can personally relate to organ donation/transplantation. This is strictly for clinical department: good starting point but you will have to go elsewhere for career development.
There is little to no room for advancement. I know of coworkers making lateral moves to other departments but other than that, growth is stagnant. The turnover here in the clinical department is ridiculous. We always have a staffing gap and poor management leads to waves of multiple great employees quitting at a time, further adding to the gap and overworking employees. Work/Life balance is encouraged but taken away when managers ask for volunteers to take on shifts or they will forcibly assign to fill the schedule gap. There is tons of gossip such as a leaked salary report showing executives giving themselves huge bonuses while cutting the employee's pay rates. Management does not listen to the employee's opinions and grievances because they already have a 'vision' in mind. Managers are micro-managing. Some directors are unprofessional; one once send out a company wide email to remind someone to remove toilet seat cover in women's restroom, another using foul language in an exit interview.
Management needs to listen to your employees and work on better retention rates. Even though LifeGift was once top in the industry, it now trails behind in technology, spreading awareness about organ donation and recruiting. The community is mostly unaware of LifeGift, even among staff at the large megaplex, renowned Texas Medical Center next to LifeGift. Focus on the primary mission which is increasing organ donation and transplantation, rather than increasing fiscal strength which will come after. Operational decisions based on financial profit adversely affect the efficiency of the donation process.

Don't bother wasting your time working for this company.  It has the potential to be great,  but not under current management.  For a company that's core beliefs are compassion, passion and integrity, they do not practice any of those beliefs. All managers at LifeGift will make sure they have hefty bonuses whole not giving their employees anything.  No incentives, no bonuses, nothing! They are the most greedy individuals I have come across.  I was very disappointed to know that a company like this is run by these kind of people. I worked long hours in the communication Center for donation (a lot of times 18 hr shifts without a break). I helped my peers pick up shifts numerous times. Management had the nerve to give me a bad review saying I did not have a good work/life balance. When it came time to apply for another position they ignored me. I didn't even get an interview.  They pick their favorites and if you are not one you get kicked to the side.  I would not recommend working for this company.  I would hate to think that others will face the same disappoint in this company as I have.

Great benefits and compensation if you can survive working around snakes. Constant harassment and aggressiveness. The training sucks. You get a person whom is aggressive and brings their personal issues and put them off on you. Management tends to portray like they care but will turn around and cut you off so fast you will not know what hit you. Ceo pretends to be caring, remember I said pretend. You can't go to HR because they are in it with management. They try to portray as if they 'need' good people to stay and work there. Please don't believe them, trust me. This is not somewhere you want to be. Try to find a place where you are valued as a hardworking, compassionate individual and a team player. Although you feel good when you are helping clients, it's not enough because the work environment is like a den of thieves. Everybody for themselves. What a delusion they portray to be.

Worst management I’ve ever encountered. Management has their favorites and the others are non existent. No chance for career advancement. I’ve been with company 5+ years and overlooked for advancement on multiple occasions. The environment is constant drama. The gossip is toxic and abundant.  When issues and solutions are presented to management they will deflect and do absolutely nothing. Work/Life balance is nonexistent. The company has a great  purpose for what we do however the management and the toxic people you work with don't make it possible to enjoy working there. The training is abhorrent, most of the techs are more experienced and more qualified than the person promoted to be the lead trainer.

No work/life balance
Management is less educated or knowledgeable than staff. the company has lost lots of employees due to the toxic environment. Most enjoyable part of the job was the sense of altruism knowing that you helped save someone waiting on an organ. Unfortunately management doesn't share the same view. Overpaid management that are cutthroat to each other and employees. The "good ole boy" system in full effect among HR and Executive Leadership. No employee trust management or each other due to the culture of the organization. Board of Directors should re-vamp entire Executive team and Management team, than LifeGift will be a good company to work for.

The biggest problem is the already established clicks that are deeply rooted and established.   Theres no individual accountability or consistency, this creates a huge disconnect when conflicts arise.
You will run yourself to ragged, and no one will even notice, or nevertheless when the proper support and help do not pull their weight. Its only noticeable if there is an issue, and they clearly are only concerned with the monthly numbers.

Management is an absolute joke, and treats everyone like trash. Don’t bother trying to speak to the higher ups regarding concerns for supervisors and management. They will just cover the butt of the supervisor and tell you to buck up. If you aren’t one of the favorites you are used and abused constantly. They don’t care about you or how you feel, you are just their to help them make more money. I loved what the job was but the environment was terrible. You’ll work your butt off and get no respect or appreciation. There are also some instance that will make you question the whole industry.

This is a challenging job that allowed for growth and interaction among health care providers, patients, and the community. Plenty of opportunities to train and educate on the need for organ and tissue donation. Built long lasting relationships that have added to my  knowledge base.

I currently take incoming imminent death or death calls. After receiving the call I am responsible for screening the case for suitability of tissue donation. Once suitability is determined I am then responsible for reaching out to the families of the potential donor. I offer the family hope by informing them of how their loved one can help enhance or save the lives of others needing life saving transplants
