the food department is HORRIBLE! the kitchen is DISGUSTING. You'd be surprised that this disgusting kitchen is responsible for giving food to the patients and employees of the hospital. Most workers do not wash their hands when coming in from the bathroom or touching surfaces that are unsanitary. The kitchen is always running out of soap for the ecolab dishmachine and the managers and supervisors tell us to run the dishes and pots thru with NO SOAP!!! JUST HOT WATER!! SO DISGUSTING!!! they do not care!!! there are many patients that are sick with many different diseases, viruses and bacterias, the dishes need to be cleaned properly!!! JUST IMAGINE EATING OFF OF THE SILVERWARE OR DISHES THAT HAVE BEEN IN THE MOUTH OF A SICK PATIENT WITH GOD KNOWS WHAT!!! TRAYS THAT COME IN WITH BODY WASTE GOING IN A MACHINE WITH NO SOAP JUST HOT WATER!!!!

the floors are DIRTY!!! OLD FOOD LEFT FROM CHEFS AND LEFT FOR THE ROACHES TO HAVE A GOOD FEAST AT NIGHT. THE CRACKS ARE FILLED WITH DIRT AND GRIME. If you think you are eating kosher, think again!!! the roaches crawl all over the utensils and supplies in the cabinets, in the kosher kitchen. Roach city GALORE!! Move the stuff away from the walls and watch the roaches run for their lives!!

The dishroom is always understaffed. two people running a four man machine that supplies 99% of the hospital is not cool!!! the managers watch you struggle working instead of helping like they're supposed to. The work environment is negative. They have a high turn around rate because of this,

I ate spaghetti from the kosher kitchen on my first day and guess what? I caught a bad case of food poisoning from the food!  the food was contaminated and the chef popped a label on the leftover sauce and put it right in the kitchen refrigerator to be put right back in the kosher kitchen upstairs!

I would work 12 hr shifts (very seldom only if senior employees did not want to work) 9a-9pm with only one 30 min break for the WHOLE DAY!!!!!! So imagine working and running carts all day plus being short on the dish machine and having your last break at 11:30 a and working til 9....not COOL AT ALL!! the people that should be helping are never around. they take breaks and go off into space until they feel they are ready to come back. I was always getting stuck with the bulk of work BY MYSELF!!! They would leave stacks and stacks of dishes and say "I'M OUT OF HERE". I would stay behind and get the stacks of dishes squared away because I didn't like to leave work unfinished. There was one person who helped, but the rest of them watch you struggle or ask "you're working over here by yourself?" (YES MANAGERS SEE IT HAPPENING AND DON'T EVEN HELP!)

I was soo exicted to start working at sinai but as time went on and as they continued to do UNSANITARY and unsatisfactory things, I grew tired and got fed up! SINAI is the lowest paying hospital in the city of baltimore. The hours are TERRIBLE. They are giving only FOUR hour shifts because sinai does not want dietary workers going full time.... please save yourself! get away FAST!!!

There's no leadership and no team work there Period at all supervisors have nasty attitudes all the time. Don't get me wrong it a nice place to work if they had more people wit positive attitudes and supervisor's are lazy as ever they don't help period they leave for your own  self. Its a lot of people who do nothing but snitch all day every day instead of helping and embracing. I never work for a place who's not understanding of people situations. With this snow blizzard they except people to come to work knowing some people can't make they just don't care about peoples safety. They told people they have a 2 hour grace period and if they miss there 2 hour grace period they had to have and show actual sufficient proof as to why they are late and still will get wrote up. Never have I ever heard of that know how bad the weather is. I can't work for a company who feels that way about people that's just sad. People should come to work happy and not feeling uncomfortable thinking they gonna lose there job over something so small. Another thing they except and look for people to fail and when u are a new person ur gonna make a lot of mistakes. Never thought it would be this bad and its a Jewish hospital smh. I regret working in dietary I wish I worked in a different department cuz dietary suck and its no positivity in that department all u get is dirty looks and attitudes from co workers and supervisor's in that department.

Most days you’ll have a set area usually with a predictable amount of work to do. The job is not hard but it is the managers who make it hard. It is actually a lot easier and bearable when you’re far  away from your managers. There is a lot of micromanagement in the EVS office paired with horrendous communication by said managers. They do not tell you anything that is essential to your job and you will always have to find out from someone else who isn’t even in your department let alone EVS. They will act condescending toward you when you ask for clarity on the same things that they fail to tell everyone. Every day they have meetings at irregular times in which most times nothing of substance is actually said, which always ends with us not knowing anything that’s going on. Management does a terrible job of communicating internally as well which results in daily confusion amongst themselves and a constant revolving door of managers, especially those who don’t know the half of what their employee’s actually deal with on the floor. They will try to control you and everything that you do even if you are a good worker who doesn’t get complaints. 

A typical day at work includes me trouble shooting equipment, stocking drugs and supplies for the providers after each surgery this includes off site areas as well. Making sure the anesthesia providers has everything they need to perform well in the surgeries. Helping with difficult intubations and putting in non-invasive lines in the cardiac rooms. Stocking the work room and supply room. I have been an employee of Sinai hospital for a while now and it has change dramatically. I really enjoy what I do but sometimes people lose sight of the reason why we are there. I have learned a lot from Sinai Hospital this includes prioritizing, multitasking and working affectively in a critical situation. My co-workers are all interesting and are much younger than me and have a lot to learn, but they for the most part are an interesting group. My manager is very stern and takes her job very seriously. I have leaned a lot from her as well. The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that I have helped saved someone's life or even helped them have a safe and successful surgery. The hardest part of my job is working with people who are in it for the wrong reason so they don't take their job as serious.

For over 12 years, LBH did not give a raise even though cost of living in Baltimore has been steadily going up. This is a Jewish Organization and they literally will do anything to not pay you. They started doing "internships" where the employee is unpaid. Using someone for work without proper compensation IS a form of slavery. What is crazy is that there are stories in the Old Testament where the Hebrews/Jews were slaves for hundreds of years to the Egyptians and the Pharaoh over 5000 years ago. Fast forward to now, this organization is using the same practice to ensure MAXIMUM profits. Every year they write about record profits, but why do they choose to not pay their labor staff? All that matters to this organization are the doctors and nurses; the top 1% of the organization. The best way to describe the culture of this organization is "They hire you to FIRE you." If you login to your workstation even 1 min past the start of your shift, they count that as an "Occurrence," after a certain amount of these they will always write you up and take away any hope of a bonus for that year.  The managers on the other hand arrive late for work, and leave early, and they STILL get theirs. Stay as far away from LBH as you can.

one of my typical days at work was answering phones and taking doctors notes taking notes for patients for nurses etc.

I've learned hospitals are really busy during the morning and mid-day for Nurses Doctor's etc.

my co- workers were friendly and helpful when I needed there help...most of my co- workers were doctor's and nurses and nursing aides etc..

the hardest part of my job was having to sit around when there is nothing to do and know one there to talk to because all the nurses and doctor's were all gone on there lunch breaks or in different parts of the hospital where they can't be reached and patients needed assistance...that was the most hardest..

the most enjoyable part of the job was being some kind of help to someone and making the nurses and doctor's happy that I could perform the duties that I was asked to do,,. I got rewarded in the end with pendants and thank you cards from all the nursing staff and doctor's in that part of the hospital they enjoyed me and I enjoyed them I've grown to love the staff and most of all the patients..

No raise in almost 3 years. No administrative time. You will not be seen for your hard work or great reviews or positive impacts to patients. You will not be seen for the immense numbers of unpaid hours you put in on your own time (because you have to) nor will you be reimbursed for this time in any way. You will only be seen for productivity and how much income you generate. Co workers are great and so are the patients. CEO pockets are lined but they don't pay the staff for the work they are doing or the care they are providing. We can't even find staff because we pay significantly less than all other employers in the area. For this reason every staff member is filling multiple roles but only getting paid for 1. We are treated as if it is a privilege to work for them. When I leave who will care for the patients? They made it clear I am replaceable, yet we can’t even replace the medical assistants or front staff because target and pizza delivery drivers make more. Terrible poor medicine is being provided to cut cost to the company. Shameful.

I was one of the person to ensure the doctor, residence, and employee were transported to job site,doctor appointment, therapy appointment, cancer treatment, and surgery appointment.  Pickup and deliver medication, blood boxes, payroll check ,important paper, and medical supply.                                                                              I learned that regardless of what age you might be, you can contract /inherence a disease,or be born with  one.To see children died or sick so young ,just broke my heart.                                         Management was nice   and every month would leave us some kind of  treat (cake, pizza, juices). We celebrate everyone birthday at the end of the month. We were like a family.                                           My co-worker and I  work together to help  transport patient and employee to their assigned location.                                                   The hardest part was driving in bad weather (snow), trying to drive down a small street with a big bus. .                                                 The most enjoyable and rewarding part was I was helping people who really needed my help. Most of the patient has no other way or no one to help them.

On a typical work day, I cared for residents/patients under my care. Caring for the elderly requires many skills with the most important being patience. There are residents/patients who are more demanding than others because of their loss of a good part of their independence. Additionally, there are family members who are actively involved, but may be unrealistic about their loved ones disposition. Just having to deal with these two factors would be nothing if administration and management were compassionate and caring of their staff. Because of the work setting politics, managers frequently used their discretion to frequently single out, harass, and discipline those employees they don't like or favor; and administration supports this behavior. This is the cause for such a high employee turnover. They don't value good, strong, skilled employees. They claim to be the next thing in healthcare. Well, I sure hope not!

The managment is horrible.  They are unprofessional and everyway possible. The turn over rate with empolyees are at a all time high, effecting the proper training and services needed to complete job. Lead Techs want workers they can mistreat and get to kiss their butts! The worst of all there is no one you can trust to discuss these matters with because all they care about is not being involved with the little people ( in other words if one dont comform get rid of them). (Most of them are crut balls) Other parts of the department are just as bad... Chief of department,  Secretary,  Anesthesia Tech supervisor,  lead ll, etc... because its been an on going problem for years and no one wants to correct it!
