What is the best part of working at the company?
Training program is thorough and intensive. Great training staff. Management and staff are helpful and available when you need them most times. Benefits are better than average.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Productivity, productivity, productivity. This is all the company is concerned about. There is NO exception. They emphasize and stress this from the moment you start. You struggle to meet unrealistic goals set forth. You never feel like you have a good day. The expectation is meeting productivity with high quality standards. You scramble and constantly worry about them coming down on you. Your every moment is worrying about hitting production working on claims that are a mess and take a lot of time to resolve. When you rush, you cannot attain high quality standards. There is some micromanagement. Every moment spent is constant worry. You finish every day feeling spent and exhausted. The Athena One system is a cumbersome mess compared to other systems. Workload is overwhelming to say the least. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?

Training program is thorough and intensive. Great training staff. Management and staff are helpful and available when you need them most times. Benefits are better than average.
Your workday consists of struggling with claims and a EHR system that is difficult to navigate with use kickcodes that require perfection to meet the organizational standards. Training is 12 weeks of intense learning due to the complex model they set up and high expectations of the staff. You must meet productivity standards and quality standards before "Graduating". The trainers are excellent and very helpful. When you get out of training you are overwhelmed with work. Everything is done a certain way and impossible to remember and reference due to time constraints. You run into roadblocks at every turn. Very corporate environment. There is some micromanagement so be prepared. Staff and management are helpful and courteous but are constantly reminding you of production goals. You leave feeling exhausted and with a feeling of never achieving much of anything. You hit the ground running the moment you start. Much of the day is living in this rushed and confusing environment. I had to work claims that were a mess and complex. 
The system will not allow you to fix anything if a mistake was made. High quality is expected with meeting production. There's a long process for everything. Turn-over is high and they don't understand why.  Expectations are unrealistic. They grade you on everything. I've worked in Medical Billing for 20 years, and this job made me feel dumb with all the things they expect. Pay is low for the expectations. This is a very corporate work environment. Your thoughts don't matter so don't bother. Everything is so convoluted I would second guess myself all the time. Leads and management encourage you, but fall short of making the work environment less stressful. You will be assigned a barrage medical centers and clinics, while being given projects and spreadsheets to do at the same time. Everything needs to be done and you better get it done. Not for the complacent worker. So intensive, I burnt out in 4.5 months and I am a hard working conscientious worker.  


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Extremely rushed and chaotic... Stressful.

Nurses if you value your license DO NOT work for this company! You will be expected to take 16-24 patients on your own consistently. The new DON will mandate you to work 16-24 hours since she isn’t required to learn how to come out of her office to work the floor. If you refuse to take report she will threaten your license by calling the State Board Of Health. They cannot keep people here due to being overly stressed, understaffed, overworked, and very under appreciated. This place willingly takes COVID-19 patients without having negative pressure rooms nor proper PPE. Patients are not required to wear face masks. There is no social distancing on the units or in the patient rooms. Money driven company that does not care about its patients or staff. The brochure is a complete lie! Patients are just an ATM especially if you have good insurance. This company makes sure that patients are good enough to leave then come back a few days later. No real coping skills are given just get to sit around playing games and coloring. No enforcement to go to class so they can just sleep all day. The daily curriculum is stale and they refuse to change it. The Help 4 Hereos program brings in all the money yet the company does nothing for our Heroes. Upper management has favorites and will give promotions to who kisses the most butt. They don’t post jobs so everyone has a chance to apply they just give it to their favorites. CEO’s are constantly coming and going. “HR” Manager slithered his way up the food chain to his position. PCA’s are expected to run with little to no help. Nursing staff are always being attacked by patients and nothing is ever done about it. If you get hurt they will try to tell you to use your own insurance! You don’t even have enough staff on 3rd shift to perform a Code Blue (7 people in the building at most). Plus there is no security to help if things get violent. Open nurses stations for patients to walk into to grab things to attack you with. Security cameras everywhere you go so that management can complain and tell you what you are doing wrong. Housekeeping doesn’t clean the units on a daily basis but are expected to clean Administration offices daily. Social workers make the decisions to take patients that are completely out of scope of care. If you are smart you will stay away from this company! The only positive will be the day you can quit and never go back! 

As an inpatient therapist, a typical day consists of treatment team first thing in the morning, which consists of the attending physician, therapists, and charge nurse. It runs smooth with physicians that are collaborative and have appreciation for the treatment team, but can make the day start off horribly when working with a tyrant physician. As an inpatient therapist, responsibilities include conducting group therapy, individual therapy for an initial session and as needed, obtaining collateral information from family and/or alternative social supports, facilitating family therapy sessions, and discharge planning. Additional tasks/responsibilities and characteristics differ by unit/population, but working on the unit for severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) include working with involuntary patients (e.g., court hearings, court letters, collaborating with CMHC for outpatient treatment orders), chronic homelessness and  lacking resources to meet basic needs, high risk patients without a social support network, psychosis, co-occurring SUD and MH issues, and exposure to aggression and violence. Therapist offices are also on the unit, so patients have access to you at all times if you remain in your office. 

It is apparent that administration has been trying to make improvements and take feedback of staff into account, but changes take a lot of time to really see much of a benefit. Staffing levels also remains an issue. Despite high acuity there is no on-sight security. The job is best suited to someone just starting out in their career, as those with experience may feel stagnant without any options for continued development. 

I don’t even know where to start. I’ve worked night shift there for almost two years. It is almost never appropriately staffed. PCAs and RNs are putting their safety on the line when dealing with patients the hospital is not equipped to handle. There is so much turnover due to lack of safety and management not doing anything to change it regardless of how much is communicated to them. I’ve personally been assaulted multiple times by patients and because I haven’t ended up in the hospital like some of my coworkers, everything is treated like it’s fine and nothing is wrong. Administration and certain management make all of their decisions based on if they will end up with more money in their pockets or a bigger bonus by the end of the year. Concern for their staff running the units and giving direct patient care is nonexistent. Staff concerns are not heard. Every department also has those few people that think they are better than everyone else. Favoritism is an entirely other thing too. The only way I have survived this long is due to my amazing night shift supervisor and my night shift unit coworkers. They have become like family and we only do this for each other. We will even come in to work overtime to make sure no one is left in a dangerous situation by themselves like we have been left to fend for ourselves before. This place doesn’t really care about the health of their staff or patients. I guess they call it a for profit hospital for a reason.....

The Positive: 
The rehab facility is absolutely beautiful and new. So many  fun therapy gadgets. The schedule is flexible due to being salaried and our direct therapy manager is very cognizant of not having people work overtime unless they are properly compensated with bonuses. The nurses + CNAs are so helpful and supportive of the therapy team.  Lastly, the patient's are incredibly motivated and willing to work with therapy (which isn't always the case)

The Negative:
For a rehabilitation hospital, this place does not prioritize rehab at all. The therapy department is incredibly understaffed and management/"corporate" does not care. We are supposed to be providing patient's with 3 hours of therapy per day. Some patient's go 3-4 days without any sort of therapy due to short staffing. Our Medicare compliance is sitting around 50% which definitely does not feel ethical. I understand health care is a rough place to be right now, but this feels a bit out of control. On top of that they are thinking of opening another unit despite having NO staff to support it. 
There is an overall negative vibe surrounding the rehab department from being overworked and undervalued. The director of therapy is rarely present and is "being pulled in several different directions." Several former team members have stated they had not received a raise after being with the company for 2-3 years. 

Bottom Line: If you are able to remove yourself from the management issues, drama, and "ethical" gray area this is a good place to work as a therapist. I haven't worked for this hospital for very long but these issues are definitely wearing on me and am unsure how long I will last. 

Working for Lifepoint Business Services (LBS) at the Health Support Center (HSC) is a thankless job.  Work/Life balance is non-existent   Multiple people have left, or been callously let go, and have not been replaced. The workload just keeps growing for those that are already overworked.  

The implementation of Oracle Fusion was badly needed but poorly done. It is over configured and cumbersome to use. Nothing “just works”, everything must be processed through a multitude of steps, most of which really shouldn’t be necessary. And instead of trying to simplify things, they just keep adding more configurations and restrictions. The HR/Finance disaster that was replaced by the Oracle disaster that is. 

The Lifepoint “unlimited PTO” plan is very limited, very closely monitored. Days are often cancelled due to workload. An unlimited PTO plan is only in place to keep employees from accruing paid time off, thus the company doesn’t have to pay you for what they didn’t allow you to take when you leave. It’s not a “perk”, it just sounds like one. And starting in 2026, Lifepoint took away two paid holidays. Christmas Eve and the day after Thanksgiving are no longer corporate holidays.  Only 6 remain. 

Lifepoint does have a 401K plan with a corporate match. They did improve the matching percentage this year, however it’s still laughably bad. If. If that’s all they can afford they must need the money more than I do. Please just keep it. 

Beckett Springs does offer room for advancement, like any other profession one must grow inside and outside of work by furthering education, seeking out knowledge and training. 

Teams are extremely supportive and motivated to make a positive impact on patient lives and co-worker relationships. 

If you have issues or concerns, the open door policy is true to its meaning.  Communicate with the appropriate leadership/HR and you will be communicated back with regarding your issue/concern. 

Look, no job is ever perfect, but working at Beckett Springs is more than just a job, you are responsible and expected to participate in positively changing lives each day. If you have a passion to make a difference, all the other possible challenges and/obstacles in the work environment can be overcome. Having a passion to provide support to individuals that are in some of the most challenging steps of their lives is a must.  Its easy to loose focus on what you are there to accomplish if you allow surmountable issues to take priority.  Changing lives is the priority and if you come to work each day knowing that in your heart and mind and portraying that through your interactions with patients and staff then you will find happiness, calm, growth, and pride while you're clocked in and out. 

You're happiness of working here will 100 percent be in your control.  Remember why you are here and the rest will fall into place. 

Typical Mondays are spent driving and flying to whatever hospital I go to.  Tuesday's, Wednesday's, and maybe part of Thursday's are working in the hospital next to the Director of Care Management looking at processes, goals, and action plans for improving their hospitals readmissions, claim denials, discharge planning, social service, and documentation to be sure Medicare and commercial insurance needs are met.  Then travel home on Thursday, and work from home on Friday.  

I now have an increased knowledge related to Provider and Case Management documentation needs for Medicare.  I have learned how to develop a UM Plan and Discharge Planning Policy.  

Me and my co-workers get together quarterly to touch base on our own practices to be sure we are all following the same expectations for our own hospitals.

The hardest part of the job is going to the corporate office and sitting in a conference room developing policies and procedures for 3 or 4 days straight.

The best part of the job is working with the Directors in hospitals and helping them improve all of the above and then seeing those results in the monthly reports from Finance and Quality leaders.

Oakwood Springs is not perfect; however, there is great effort being made to improve the defects and make this hospital the premier standard for behavioral health and substance recovery care. A typical day can be demanding and sometimes exasperating but what inpatient facility isn't? As a new therapist, I have been given an invaluable education and insight into severe mental illness (SMI) and addiction that will assist me as I transition to eventual private practice. The management team are supportive and take great effort to recognize each employee individually. The current management team are visionaries and not afraid to push against systems that can be redundant and sometimes need to be renovated. The work culture is enjoyable, I have never worked with a better group of individuals. My day is filled with laughter and acceptance; this is important while navigating and treating individuals who are in such dire pain. The hardest part of this job is completing the necessary paperwork on a timeline, especially on days when we are assigned several new intakes. It's on those days that the team pulls together to help each other in order to meet requirements and remain on task to provide exceptional patient care. The most enjoyable part of my job is to see the improvement our patients make; they arrive broken and leave with new beginnings and tools for an improved life.

In the six months that I have been employed I have been able to join our committee and meet almost everyone in the hospital while being cross trained.  I am inspired by the Multiple department heads that made themselves available in a matter of three hours to give support with professional guidance and knowledge to trouble shoot getting my needs met as an employee. My own department head congratulated me on the move to another department. This has helped me to increase my income and grow in the company. I feel so much cohesivenes and worth as an employee and an individual. I am proud to be a part of the Heroes at Rainier Springs. Truly, my life has been changed and my confidence has been lifted. Thank you for hearing me and meeting me where I am.  Thank you for leading by action! 
I want to also acknowledge the Heroes, our patients,  that come into our hospital lacking knowledge and full of courage to receive treatment but show up anyways and give us the opportunity to do what we love and do best ... Change lives!
