What is the best part of working at the company?
Staff present themselves as super friendly, office buys lunch for staff working in office on Thursdays, remote opportunities available but not necessarily encouraged by superiors. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No balance of workload, overall acceptance of being told you’re wrong and you are making mistakes that are not mistakes but merely preferences of others or duplicating different preferences of multiple attorneys, being told  to seek directions from your peers who claim no knowledge. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Lacks stimulation, untrusting, political views must align as it’s part of everyday work life.

Whether you have a good or bad experience at LC will be completely dependent on the partner(s) you work with.  Unfortunately, the partners with the most work to dole out are also the most difficult people to work for. This is a well known problem to management, but they refuse to address it. Some partner issues I encountered were: unresponsiveness to the point of negligence, unrealistic billing expectations (big law hours for half the pay), and complete lack of mentorship.

The only bright spot for this firm is the associates. They are smart, capable, and willing to help other associates. However, the aforementioned partners will drive away all of the talent before they can become partners and affect change in the firm.

A typical day is never in the cards. The office has lost several good employees this year alone due to toxic management issues. The stress, bullying, drama and favoritism is vial to say the least.  Any and ALL valid complaints to management are swept under the rug and if brought to the HR department, nothing gets done. This office couldn't find its way out of a paper bag. You'd be better off finding another job that has actual support as there is no support in this office. There is no room for growth at this firm as a staff member and nothing is gained. 

Everyone was nice, I was only working there briefly until I got a better offer. They won't budge on updated equipment. The hybrid schedule seems fair, but you'd have to lug a huge piece of equipment home (laptops or small docking stations not available). The office is dark, old, cold and depressing. Theres almost no desk supplies, and zero perks (snacks, variety of coffee or tea). Everyone was very nice, not a lot of training.

Some of the Lawyers were kind and some were too prideful and obnoxious and demanded work even when you are not assigned to them. Also so much drama between the lady legal assistants and paralegal and when spoken to management about the situation nothing was done! Don't really recommend unless you are more then willing to deal with the drama and the crazy workload with no help from others. 

Litchfield Cavo was a very nice place to work.  I enjoyed interacting with all the staff and the attorneys.  They were very easy to get along with and the work, though voluminous, was very interesting and kept me very busy which I enjoyed.

The office environment is toxic, no one is happy.  When your cube mate is out for some reason you are responsible to help them out, so then you have 7 to 9 attorneys needing your help.  If you ask for help you have to explain so much that you could have done the project.   Office manager is not discrete and stabs people in the back, many times.  I would not recommend this office at all.

Employees' opinions and contributions are not valued; work environment is not conducive to productivity.  Antiquated software; lack of managerial support; no incentive to contribute more, and favoritism is rampant.

I was assigned to 13 litigation attorneys and was responsible for all record ordering, summarizing, maintaining experts, etc.  It was too much for 13 people and only work 7 hours a day. You get a hateful email if you are over 7 hours a day or 35 hours a week.  There is too much work to do in 7 hours.  Plus the attorneys gave non-billable work and then griped that your billable hours were not high enough.

I work directly in HR and with the Managing Partner and Assisting Managing Partner of the firm. Management is wonderful. We have a 35 hour work week. That is considered to be full time for us. We have recently decreased our annual billable hours for attorneys to become more realistic with the market. In the Chicago office, we have lunch catered every Thursday!
