This job was very fast paced and intense, which I enjoyed. But there is ABSOLUTELY NO work/life balance. Your life is completely consumed by organ donation.  This job infiltrates every aspect of your life. To management, you are disposable and can be replaced in an instant. There is no "family" or "team" atmosphere. Also, very eye opening to see the corporate side of organ donation and how each organ donor truly is only a dollar sign to them. After working here, I removed myself from the donor list and encourage others to do the same.

Though it has been some time since I last worked at NORS, when I did wok there the experience was less than idea. You are on call all the time and are expected to put the job before anything else. You get one weekend off a month and the pay is not that great for the amount of stress that you deal with. I believe in the mission of organ and tissue recovery but this organization has some serious flaws they need to work through.

This is the only job that I have had that I come to every day knowing that I am making a difference for my community.  It is not easy work by any means every day brings a new set of challenges.  If you come to work ready to work and leave the excuses at home you will be rewarded by management at the company.  This job allows for a flexible schedule, if I need a day off its never an issue to schedule around that.  I am proud to say that I have worked for Nebraska Organ Recovery.

"Leadership" is a joke, they have their favorite employees and everyone else is dispensable. People are bullied and human resources doesn't do anything about it. You get disciplined for NO reason, everyone talks junk behind your back, Rumors are taken as fact and nothing is investigated, pay is no where near other OPO's. Safety is NOT taken seriously, leadership only cares about numbers. Not worth working in a high school drama club!

I have never had a job that felt more like a family. The organization is determined to provide the best pay, benefits and equipment to take care of their teams.

With one missions, to save lives, no matter what role you have you are important. 

With a relaxed environment and great coworkers it’s not even work. I can’t beleive I get paid (very well) to be a part of saving lives with my friends.

Nebraska Organ Recovery has some of the most dedicated, passionate employees I've ever worked with. The nature of our work can be very difficult, but knowing that the effort you put in directly affects the lives of donor families and those waiting for a transplant is incredibly rewarding. The company values employee input and strives to create an environment in which people can be successful.

If you have a wonderful heart, and a sincere appreciation for life and the desire to assist family members through a trying time in being their voice and coordinating services/ resources to relieve stressors from a family’s load, this is a wonderful employer & organization 

This was a very demanding job with twenty-four hour shifts that sometimes interfered with one's personal life. The experience itself was extremely rewarding and working with patients who are in need quickly changes one's world view. Fast paced work environment, travel, surgical and lab work made this an extremely interesting job.

Overall a great place to work, management at the time was very chaotic and questionable. The work was great and very meaningful. Helping others achieve a second shot at life through organ donation was a fulfilling feeling and one I will never forget. 

This is one of those jobs where you can actually make a difference in people's lives and see it every day.  It isn't an easy job; it requires emotional strength and true dedication.  However, for the right person, this is a wonderful place to be.
