What is the best part of working at the company?
Friendly people, hands-on training, excellent food, flexible work schedule, paid time off, and chance to advance.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Work toll, you have to be able perform your task according to guidelines, your boss may not request your day's off, you switch day with your coworker, and you may or not smoke at certain time on your shift.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A family oriented and centered business that lasted for 40 years. It serves southern comfort food in all it locations. Lizard's Thicket started in Columbia, SC.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You clock-in on the computer and start your role in the restaurant. You may get a break before you finish shift. Once you finish your shift, please clock-out or you will not able to clock-in tomorrow and you have to inform the manager to clock-in again.

The owners has good intentions a and are really good folks to work for , for the most part, but they and the management staff let a lot of bad things  go on at there stores and the owners no about this.. They hire a lot of people who are felons and have bad ways of dealing with people. The pay is descent, if your full time, u can get Insurance, but I wasnt impressed with it, it didnt cover a lot of things and had  a 40$ co pay to see your doctor. some of there stores run on auto pilot, employees do want they want to.  just a lot of trouble makers work at some of the locations, and make it hard to get along with other employees, and provide a good working atmosphere. I wouldnt recommend working there, its a tough place to work

No sense in trying to advance in a company that allow poor managers to work in their company without being let go. Transferring poor managers to other stores instead of handling issues directly.

I had one manager not inform anyone of my sick day. So when I didn't show up the day after they were calling my phone and assuming I had quit. Sadly I was busy at a doctors appointment for most the day and missed the call. So when I called back 2 days later I was informed that they assumed I quit my job. Overall unprofessional way to treat an employee of 2 years+. The fact that people are aware of this person poor behavior and he is still allowed to work there is unfathomable. 

Simply avoid this hellscape of a job unless your a cook who wants free food, and is big and tough so the managers wont manage you. 

Great place to work at. Waiters and Waitresses take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in dining establishment. They also take orders from patrons for food or beverages.
Other tasks include:
Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
Check patrons’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Collect payments from customers.
Write patrons’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.

One of the worst places I chose to work at. Management only cares about himself, and actively makes his employees lives difficult. Didn’t even care about the blatant s3xual harassment either. Training was pretty straightforward, but pay is not fair. $2.13/hr is typical for pay for wait staff, but give more tables to their favorites, so others make little to no money. I would often work 5-6 hours and leave with only $20, with still having nothing on my paycheck. I would highly advise NOT working here. However, the owners, and senior trainers are AMAZING. They just need to seriously evaluate management. 

Work every major holiday. 
Work every Saturday & Sunday. 
Management has favorites. 
Can’t keep anyone, so you’re always having to train as well. 
Management targeted me in everything I did. 
Has some really strict, outdated rules (no tattoos/piercings showing) 
Uniform inspections for management power trips 
Customers were alright, but some of the worst ones are spoiled by corporate. 
Worked 7 years like this just to be fired and they lied about why. 
It’s so sad that you can give so much to a company and you’re just nothing to them when it’s all said and done. 

It's a wonderful job to work at! I am a dishwasher and even though I have the task of mopping the dining room(which honestly should be the servers job,) it's pretty self-paced and very easy to make your own routine. Would I recommend working here....you bet your shiny new silver dollar I do. If you want to have a place that actually cares about the employees and the guests then you should definitely work at Lizards Thicket.

A typical day at work was very fast paste while ensuring that the customers were being taken care of in a mannerly style. When working in a restaurant, I learned how to have patience, time management, and how to treat people with respect. The hardest part of the job was realizing that when someone stiffs you or leaves a low tip, you just have to remember that these things happen and you will make your money and eventually go home. The most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that I have helped people while ensuing that their meal came out perfect and they were happy with the service.

All the different attitudes, everyone is different so to encounter all these different personalities is stressful but also a great learning experience.

Better than most kitchens. The people actually care and respect each other.

It's different every day, but everyone comes together for the most part to get the job done.

Learning new things and always smiling and laughing at something and someone.

When people think you have the time to run around and they just stand there 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We one big family. We all learn to get along really no fighting since being there 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Running putting dishes up on the line running ice, tea, bus tubs sweeping making sure everything is okay
