Leadership’s Lack of Technical Insight: One of the biggest issues is the disconnect between non-technical leadership and the technical teams. Leadership frequently makes demands without fully understanding the complexity of the tasks involved, such as expecting a seamless transition from one hypervisor to another without grasping the risks and challenges. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are robust technical solutions.

Short-Sighted Focus on Immediate Gains: Leadership’s obsession with short-term gains at the expense of long-term strategy is a significant flaw. This approach leads to underinvestment in critical infrastructure and technology, creating unnecessary pressure on teams expected to deliver under suboptimal conditions.

Constant Leadership Turnover: Cultural and strategic change takes time to implement and solidify. However, the company’s tendency to change leadership every few months only sets them back further. This constant turnover has been a recurring issue for years and undermines any progress towards meaningful change.

Ethical Lapses: The company exhibits troubling ethical behavior, pressuring employees to withhold information from customers and pushing managers to fabricate details on talent assessments. This approach not only erodes trust internally but also damages relationships with customers, creating a toxic and unsustainable work environment.

Fear-Driven Culture: The management style is reactive and driven by fear, leading to an environment where employees are more focused on self-preservation than innovation or collaboration. This culture stifles long-term success and demoralizes the workforce.

Favoritism Over Merit: Career advancement often hinges more on personal connections than on merit, with favoritism and nepotism overshadowing fair and equitable promotions.

If you are hoping to have many opportunities to get your hands dirty in many different customer environments (technical, delivery, or management) then look no further.  There is little to no training, but there are a fair amount of knowledge articles to help you along the way. 
 If you're highly motivated in your own right, have a positive attitude, and can learn independently, then you should be just fine.  There are also very skilled technical personnel that will help you if you show you put in the effort first.

The pay isn't very good if you're moving up internally, but external hires are fairly compensated.  There were mass layoffs announced recently which has led to some people searching for work elsewhere, but with personnel moving on from the company a decent amount of new opportunities have opened.  This may allow for someone to gain the title they've been wanting or increase their pay grade.

Management is geared towards the customer and stakeholders (hence the layoffs) while being seemingly disconnected from the team responsible for the day to day operations.  Knowledgeable team, just a lot on everyone's plate each day.

In the end I will say that every situation is what you make it.  You will never know unless you try for yourself by taking a chance.  If you're able to stay positive in life then you'll gain from any situation.  Always remember to take someone's word with a grain of salt and ultimately make decisions on your own volition. If you're truly passionate about about why you're doing something while working to build trust with those around you there will always be good to come from it.

When I started at Logicalis, I was given full support, I was completely trained in each of my accounts, and I was given support if I needed it.

But then all the management I knew and worked for left.

I had been hired as a remote position (Covid was happening, and I take care of elderly), and they demanded I come into work without requiring office-personnel to be vaccinated. 

They had swamped us with three times the accounts that we had originally started with, we had no training for most of them, no access, and we couldn't often provide any support for the clients calling in constantly as we had no access to their systems.

I had been promised I would get to continue working remote. When I explained this was a huge risk for many of my elderly patients, they said since I hadn't been making 200 calls in 2 days of work (there's no way to humanly do that), I was avoiding work. They said I was rude to a client I had only spoken too once, in text, and despite me providing logs, they fired me anyways.

I think it was because I refused to work in the office, and they wanted everyone there.

I was a good worker, as long as I had access to the system, some training, and wasn't required to risk my life or the lives of my wife's patients by being in an enclosed office with unvaccinated workers.

The management went from supportive to irrational and demanding and ridiculous.

Everyone I know who worked there left.

Save yourself the trouble, look elsewhere for a job. 

The people you work with is awesome, however the management lets the employees micromanage and if the employees attempt to act as a manager then they get punished for caring too much. They overwork the ones who know more IT, and employ many people as managers who don't understand anything IT related and can barely present their screen to train. Also, they hire employees who know very little and the managers expect you to train them and pick up their slack. 

They track your time when you swipe your card to get into the building, not when you actually clock into the systems. Which allows a lot of people to do absolutely nothing.

They allow overnight staff to sleep during their shift, they also allow people to clock in and not work - so if you know IT go else where they will abuse it. However if you just want to glorify yourself as you know IT then yeah work here i guess. Hope to god when you receive your account your team members will remotely try to assist you.

my primary responsibility is to support our account management team. Today I support +/- 25 AM's. I describe myself as the technical side of the sales team. A typical day for me consist of taking approximately 3-5 calls with clients on new or developing opportunities. I will work with the clients on defining solution requirements and then design a solution mapped to meet those requirements. I am responsible for putting together the functional specification, statement of work, and bill of materials for the opportunities I am assigned to. I also work hand in hand with the engineering, project management and order procurement teams ensuring that all orders are placed and fulfilled accordingly. I primarily support Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM), data center, route/switch, and security technologies. Other technologies I support include VMware, Shared Storage (EMC, NetApp & HP)

Logicalis has degenerated into just another body shop. Pay and benefits are great but you have absolutely no chance at advancement, or any kind of future in the organization if you are a delivery consultant. They will ride you like a rented mule and send you to the glue factory the minute your utilization drops. They expect you to obtain certifications all on your own while working 60 hours a week and will not help you in any way to stay current. There are so many layers of management from all of the acquisitions and they are all jockeying for power within the organization. Management structure is largely dysfunctional due to this. Management also appears to have developed an us vs. them mentality towards the delivery engineers and treats them like a disposable commodity. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for something besides a paycheck and benefits because thats all you will get.

Working at the Logicalis Service Desk allows you to very quickly gain a lot of experience working with different corporate IT environments. This is a good way to pad your resume.

Your reward for performing well in this role is being added to more clients and being given more responsibility with no additional pay. Pay is poor, and the benefits are overpriced for what they offer. 

It's a hit or miss whether or not your supervisor will actually have technical knowledge. Often times, they're simply there to manage you and ensure client needs are being met. Mentoring was completely absent.

If you're lucky, you may be given a promotion to Managed Services where you again face more responsibility for little pay. If you're not lucky or are unable to get in favor with your supervisors, you will stay in the same position working for the same clients for the same lackluster pay.

The hardest part of the job is understanding that you will not have consistent work loads.  It will vary from real busy to nothing to do.  If you want to keep up with your profession.  You have to find time to fit it those unpredictable down times.  Which leaves you with no training.  Job shadow to pick up some knowledge.  They dont have the time or the staffing to allow this to happen.  Its talked about but it seldom happens.

Nice thing is you can work from home if needed.  However depends on the manager.  Some are ok with 5days from home others want you in the office at least 3 to 4 days a week.

Logicalis like many companies in the area have a habit of understaffing, and underpaying. Micromanagement is pretty harsh even for a MSP environment. 

They're big HR speech that originally drew me to the company was mapping out a career in the direction you want to go, but in reality those conversation, guidance, or assistance never come.

Additionally department managers are far from aware of what they're actually managing. You'll be expected to put in plenty of overtime, because you're a salaried employee

The work hours provided are set and will not change unless requested and this can depend on what is needed.

The Set schedule worked best for me

The work had different intensities depending on the situations of the past 3  years I was with them.

At one point I was doing the work of several people, but I could keep up do to my previous experience.

The company seems to have slowed down and is limiting the amount of given work per person again.
