Long Term Care Facility

Worked here part time; however, the expectation was that I complete the work of a full time employee in 20 hours per week.  I enjoyed working with staff here and also with the senior residents at this facility.  I felt that we were frequently understaffed until an inspector was scheduled for a visit and then we had multiple extra staff working trying to prepare and catch up the things that had gotten behind throughout the year.

Great facility. Very clean a lot of team work and I would clock in and continue to see my residents and give showers that is on my shower list then I would start to work. Then at lunch time we would pass out trays and feed the residents we have on our list to feed and I enjoyed my residents but the residents can lie on you if not careful so always have to go in with a partner. Lots of overtime.

Poor overall management. Corporate is too quick to hire management staff when in dire need, rather than who might be most suitable for the position/company. Newly assigned management staff should not use inappropriate tones with staff, period.

Staff should be more appreciated, compensated appropriately and cared for as individuals. They should not be irreplaceable 5 mins after they have a health issue or pass away. The work/life balance for staff should be initiated.  

I empathize with everyone and team work is the best for all the people I enjoy the stability of the long term care and studying charts so I won't go to anyone blind and experience has been a great life lesson when work and work with doctors and RN taught me wound care and administer medication

Didn’t like how they were just too understaff. Nurses would talk to you like you’re dirt. If they didn’t like there stations or their assignment they’d walk out. Staff will talk behind your back in Tagalog thinking you didn’t understand. No parking. Staffing was so unorganized but hey what do you expect, they were do short staffed.

poor staff morals, overworked staff, removal of all staffing amenities like free lunch, employee recognition, under this management nurses risk their licenses daily, acceptance of high acquity patients and then offering training to the staff, nurses getting paid for .75 hours per day instead of 8 hours.

Not good, pandemic hit hard.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overseeing A/R, A/P and payroll

Able to learn many aspects in healthcare.   Allowed to advance and or follow others in several avenues of healthcare.  Enjoy working with the residents and family and seeing firsthand results as they leave the facility and go back into the community.

Nice facility to work at with lots of support and respect for each person.
A nice environment to work in, supportive co workers. Opinions are valued and no one micromanages the staff.

What I hate most is most of facility’s don’t have good health Ben͏e͏fits no pension plan most of Nurses don’t no what’s going to happen when they retire  as am here now I don’t have medical benefits been working since December 2018
