The core of my day is spent actively supporting our team answering questions and resolving issues so our clinicians can do what they do best, while directly helping our patients navigate the complexities of their care. It is a highly collaborative environment where every task is tied to ensuring the best possible outcomes.

There are a lot of moving parts, so staying organized is really important. That said, it’s manageable, and the team is always supportive and willing to help, which makes a big difference

A typical day for me at Lorian Home Health is pretty busy but organized. I spend most of my time handling tasks like coordinating with clinicians, following up on authorizations, and making sure everything is in place so patient care runs smoothly. There’s a lot of communication throughout the day, whether it’s calls, emails, or working with the team. It can get fast-paced, but it makes the day go by quickly,

My experience with Lorian Home Health was nothing short of a nightmare. The management is incredibly controlling, treating their employees like mere puppets rather than professionals. They don't listen to their employees, and even worse, they disregard the needs of the patients they are supposed to care for.One of the most disturbing aspects of working there was how management would edit your documentation without informing you, manipulate the schedule, and cut patient visits short. They prioritize their financial gain over patient care, routinely denying the proper referrals and cutting visits just to save money at the expense of the patient’s health.On top of that, they expect you to overwork constantly. The excessive charting demands are overwhelming and literally drained me physically, emotionally, and mentally. My personal relationships were even affected because of the toxicity that followed me home. This place will burn you out completely, and it’s impossible to find anything positive to say about this company.This is not a healthcare company—it's a business driven by greed. While the clinicians are dedicated and truly care about their patients, the management only sees dollar signs. It's a toxic environment where the focus is on profit rather than providing the care and support that patients deserve.I’m relieved to have left Lorian Home Health, but my heart goes out to my former colleagues who are still trapped in that hellish workplace. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone—whether you’re seeking employment or looking for care for a loved one.

The most stressful part of the job personally is the challenge of balancing all my ideas and making them into real projects. I work on focusing on one idea at a time and running with it.

The work environment, in my opinion, has been rewarding as I connect with multiple departments to bring them together. Having a fresh smile and having those professional connections is very important. The culture is togetherness whether celebrating a new director over dinner, bonding over lunch outside in the patio. The culture is YOU and what you can bring to the company.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day in the company is working with clinical leadership whether in person or over teams to complete projects or to hear ideas. Going over compliance components with the Vice President of Clinical Operations or having a presentation ready for the COO is what my day looks like.

It’s home health and it’s nursing. This agency is like every other with its problems. There is poor communication, there is little support from managers, their bottom line and profits come first. If they like you, then it’s a great place to work. If they don’t, then understand that you will be disciplined for every little thing, things they didn’t bother with or things that were excused previously. Favortism is a big factor in how they deal with their employees. And when the trouble hits the fan, it will fly on good nurses. There is a lot of turn over. You’ll see this company advertise on indeed often.

They demand an extraordinary amount of your time and availability, but they don’t pay you for the time you make available for them. It makes a work-home balance very difficult. Also, they aren’t understanding if you have circumstances such as health and family that are making things difficult for you. If you show up, do your job, and don’t cause problems, you are fine. Make sure you triple check everything, including your communications because they won’t have your back. Or maybe they will, but that’s where the favoritism factor comes in. But, it’s typical for home health. There is nothing about this company that sets it apart from its competitors as a place to work or a place to receive care.

Maybe you will have a better experience than me if you are a nurse who has no other responsibilities or obligations. I think that’s the kind of nurse they need.

A typical day at Lorian Health is full and purposeful, usually 9–6 with the flexibility needed for travel and branch support. In this role, I’ve learned that culture truly starts with each of us. How we lead, communicate, and show up for our teams. Management is open to ideas, responsive, and transparent, with clear goals and accountability that help drive performance. The workplace culture is open, honest, and collaborative, especially as we manage projects and support branches through growth and expansion.
The hardest part of the job is building a team that understands both short‑term priorities and long‑term strategic goals. But also the most rewarding part is absolutely the people. The clinical team is exceptional, and working alongside them, combined with the CEO’s strong, forward‑thinking vision, makes the work meaningful and energizing.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Executive leadership and their “communication”. There is an extreme focus on profits at the expense of patient care. They will provide literally the minimum and will reprimand employees who advocate for their patients to receive higher quality care. They understaff Hospice and expect productivity like home health, which does not allow for good end-of-life care.

They advertise a focus on providing their employees an excellent experience, but the reality is much different. “Family fun night” does not make up for the toxic work environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A lot of negative focus and constantly moving targets. On the Hospice side, decisions are made based on “that’s how we do it in home health”. Cross training between hospice and home health is not optional, regardless of the individual clinician’s personal experience and or desire to work in one specialty or the other. Top leadership will go around managers and threaten employee’s jobs in group messages.
