I applied for this job on Indeed and it was a fairly easy and enjoyable experience with the HR/ Recruiting Team. The work is rewarding but there is no job security here. I wish I would've listened when people told me to beware, but like with any job, you always have people who have been terminated tell a different story so I went forward with it. People are frequently terminated for various reasons and most recently, there was about 15-20 people who were "laid off" in the middle of the work day with absolutely no notice due to a slow down in payments from the insurance payor, a week after an onsite visit. Although layoffs are unfortunately a possibility anywhere in this economy, no one was given any reason as to why they were chosen out of the other 40+ employees, management reiterated it was not a reflection of anyone's performance. Some employees laid off were some of the more tenured employees, having been there since they opened and another had started the same week. The same week, they posted job openings for LPNs. 

Extremely high turnover rate. 8-10 directors in 2 years, same for other positions, but consistent lack of management and direction. 
This company has no onboarding or training to prepare you for the work. Frequently fires employees for personal bias or issues related to lack of training for position with no contingency plan and puts extra work on existing employees. 
There are a lot of promotion opportunities simply because the turnover is so high there are always open positions. Many people don’t last the 90 day probationary period. 
Many staff has had inappropriate relationships with patients and cooperate did nothing, issues like this and many others have lead to the facilities being reported multiple times. 
Toxic work environment, cliques, inconsistent policy. Good pay but poor benefit package. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
 Be able to help and talk to the residents when the assistant Director lets you do your job

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Scared your lose your job at any moment for nothing. The place is a joke and is only there to embezzle money from residents not to help them 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The residents makes it a great place to work. Of course being in recovery it's good days and bad

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Day shift is horrible. The Assistant Director and staff members make it more difficult then it is cause half don't know what they are doing or how to run a recovery center cause none of them has ever been in recovery or is certified to do the job

My experience at Lotus Recovery was marked by significant workload demands that ultimately contributed to severe burnout. I was managing a caseload of approximately 15 clients while also facilitating two groups per week, which created a high-pressure environment with limited time for adequate clinical preparation, documentation, and self-care.

The expectations placed on clinicians did not align with sustainable therapeutic practices, and the intensity of the workload made it challenging to provide the level of care I strive to deliver to my clients. Over time, this imbalance led to emotional exhaustion and impacted my overall well-being.

Daily rule changes, not providing advertised services to clients, clients get no real help with underlying issues at all-just detox, food is GREAT though, no programming, understaffed, no home/work balance, salaried for 40 hrs/wk but you will work 60+ with no overtime, overcrowded facility, nothing for residents to do but color and watch movies, management is all about the money and not the client's recovery. Staff will change rules daily so that you are ALWAYS getting written up for stuff you were required to do the day before but now it's not wanted. Entire program is run by a man with no mental health qualifications and a nurse with a lapsed license and no mental health background. Don't send your worst enemy to this place.

A typical day at work: standing or sitting for 8-10 hour days/nights, monitoring various parts of the building taking care of clients and giving reports at end of shift and within the shift. Staying alert and focused and on top of your task. Assist with any needs or concerns.  
Things I’ve learned vary between the health side of things and the “NEED” side as well. 
The management is astonishing and very helpful in every way imaginable. 
The hardest part about the job is finding the right mindset on how to balance your shift. 
The most enjoyable part about the job is the ability to be able to help others. 

No work life balance, at all. Counselors are expected to work 40+ hours per week with no compensation or appreciation. Many empty promises made to keep staff on board. Denied to use PTO due to staff shortages even after it being requested months in advance. Little to no training that pertains to your actual job duties. Constant rule changing. Not having the resources to complete job tasks. One counselor managing 20+ clients due to staff shortages. I could keep going. 

This company lies to its employees. Anytime you try to use the pto you acrue,  they find a reason to not allow it. Then fire you and you lose it. So might as well say no pto offered here because you can't use it. Management is a joke, very unprofessional and only in it for the money. Ask the current/past residents, theyll tell you all you need to know. Favoritism is a big thing here also.  Stay away if you want a good employer

Very toxic place to work. Management was immensely under qualified. Your 40 hour work week is a job, you’ll be there at least 50-60. You are under appreciated. BHTs have a job description that ends in “other duties may be assigned as needed.” As a BHT I had to work in the kitchen, had to clean rooms and do laundry, had to do transports. The staff above the building is a joke and in it for money only. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. 

If you like chaos, drama & being part of gossiping cliques this is the place for you. It's a dog eat dog, watch your back work environment.  If they don't like you they'll fabricate lies to get rid of you.
