Overall this facility has it's ups and downs just like any other care facility. Care for residents is always top notch and first priority and the staff does there best to acknowledge and respect that. This would honestly be a long term job of choice if management was organized. Every department is constantly short staffed and management does not fill positions quick enough. Employees are made to seem like they are being heard and they're not, thus leading to a lot of turnovers and management does not see that as a problem. Benefits were good until company turned over to HSA health accounts and did not consider all the overworked and under-payed staff that can not afford a very high deductible. CEO does a great job running the company, but needs to do better with overlooking his leadership team. Culture is like family if you stay long enough. There's more Pros than Cons to working here, but the cons definitely outweigh the pros.

The Rehab team is phenomenal and kind. There is really good communication and effort to change and modify things to be better for the patients and staff. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It’s healthcare. It can be stressful no matter what - even at amazing places. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Professional and open communication 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arriving when I need to and leaving after I see all assigned patients (8 hours later) manage notes and schedule as you see fit.

I would not recommend anyone work here. They will sell it to you good in orientation that it's a great company and all the hours you want and great people to work with.  Very untrue! Nurses are lazy and dont like to help cnas. The higher up staffing is very anti not friendly at all. They will over work you then not work you at all. It's a nice building very clean. But the people they have in the scheduling department will not be fair . They either have you on there when your not suppose to be or not schedule you at all when you give them your days .

What is the best part of working at the company?
Overtime and my residents they're the best!  I love relias too! We get paid to do it, whereas other companies don’t pay you to do them!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Coworkers! Parking distance and the vending machines!

Phony people!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It generally depends on who you’re working with, to say what a typical day is like.

Enjoyed working with the residents that were assigned to me each day. I was PRN status and was able to get to know most of the residents on each unit; enjoyed providing continuity of care to all the residents. Duties included: medication administration, monitoring of vital signs, documentation; transcribing of physician's orders; phlebotomy; monitoring feedings of continuous/intrmediate tube feeders, supervise 4-6 CNA's. other duties designated within the scope of practice of the LPN.

I worked here 10/yrs ago. My experience was negative. More time is necessary for orientation on the floor for LPNs. The pay scale was quite low for my many years of experience. There was a "clique" on my floor and had difficulty with receiving help and advice. Very few breaks, if at all. The residents were wonderful! I enjoyed them very much. The benefits are phenominal! I'm thinking about attempting to work here again related to the many changes, including a new DON. It may be time to return after all of these years!

I enjoyed working my shifts.  It was very rewarding taking care of the elderly patients.  They were all so sweet and kind, and when they werent- I never took that personal.  The families were the hardest part of this job.  I was very understanding , and a good listener but it was frustrating at times.  My co-workers worked well together, but would sometimes get upset with the assignments I had to give them.  It was hard when I lost a patient-it would effect me, if I knew them a while.  Taking care of Hospice patients was hard.

All they cared about was the bottom line saving money. They couldn’t keep regular staff they always had to use Agency Nurses and Cnas. Most of the time you had 16 residents on good day bad day 20 plus. They expected a miracle they knew this was bad for residents and staff but didn’t care. They  give you this amazing speech in orientation don’t believe a word.

The residents are well taken care of and appear to be happy and comfortable in their living environments. Management goes out of their way to make you feel appreciated. The administrator and director of nursing have been in long term care for a very long time not to mention both of them have been Certified Nursing Assistants which makes me have an even greater respect for them. They truly care about the best interest of their residents.

I enjoy working at Lucy Corr Village, They are amazing people to wokr with and you learn how healthcare centers operate. Being a dietary aid is a easy first job and it teaches you a lot of responsibility. Management is good they help you an they will work with your schedule. In my opinion there isn't really a hard part to this job it is very easy, simple and to the point as long as you do what your suppose to. The most enjoyable part of this job is the different people you meet and interact with.
