I enjeyed working at luther home of mercy because they are very involved with the residence. every need is met. they treat the staff very well also. active treatment is done daily and they have family style meals so that us staff can make the residence feel more at home. they have outings for them very often. i learned that my residence need me more than i need myself. I am able to things that they are not so me meetingvthe needs for them make me feel appreciated. my co-workers were mostly women and we all were team players. we got along well and we did whatever it took to get the job done. my hardest part of the job was dealing with those who had more behaviors than others and also dealing with those who were less active and needed more assistance. but it never bothered me because i knew that they had no control over that. my job was to make them feel as normal as possible and keep them happy. management was very nice. only thing is i wish they got more involved with the residents. i felt that staff knew them most. they didnt listen to us much as to what they needed and how we can fix certain things. they just did what they felt like doing just to get their boss off their back. i learned patience with working in my field. i know that they have very little control over their actions. I have to just try to redirect them or deal with what was going on. be more of a friend to the,m rather then their staff. give them a helping hand hand and a ear to listen

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great place to work with all the LHM team and family! Our clients are great people and loved so much by those who are on staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with inadequate staff and the agency workers who come in and don’t do their jobs.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Positive energy and uplifting! Rewarding because of the blessings we receive assisting our clients in their daily living and their sweet smiles!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Training and supervising staff in a cottage style setting! Engaging with my clients and staff!

Providing clients with development disabilities meals, helping with showers and hygiene, grocery shopping, household work, money management and helping to get them out in the community.
I have learned that I love my job and my passion is working with these individuals. I get along with my co workers and management for the most part, although I don't always agree with everything they all do. The hardest part of the job is the different hours every week, sometimes you do all 3 shifts in a week and also trying to deal with management telling you how things are to be ran when they don't work in the house or with the clients. I love working with the clients and it is very comforting knowing that I am helping someone.

Working with the unique individuals in the homes

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is awful at this place. And let's not forget the bedbugs, ants and mice they have roaming around the Oak Harbor houses that they do NOTHING about.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Complete chaos at all times. No one knows what the other hand is doing

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Non stop running your whole shift and consider yourself lucky if you manage to find time to eat amongst the absolute chaos

Working there for a short time I witnessed them overwork the staff cause they were so short. The pay isn't worth the headache you deal with some of the Ques & Supervisors. Folks will see you need help & offer no help. They write up staff 1000 times & still keep them even if they call off, don't do their job. Too many residents vs 1 or 2 staff & you get a burnt chicken meal as a thank you once a year. No incentives unless you pick up. It's ppl that been there 30 years making $16.75 a hour 🤣 

If you are a nurse and you care about being able to provide the best quality care for your patients  this is the place for you. You are never left up a creek without a paddle. It's still healthcare, we still have some staffing issues. But as a new nurse I love my job and my residents. 

Working here is not as stressful as a nursing home or rehab, but it makes up for it with management not caring and all the cattiness between nurses. A lot of the nurses have been here for years and apparently they can say and do whatever they want without repercussions. Alot of bullying amongst staff. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Also pay if very low. 

I had great co workers and and got along with everyone.  The staff that work with the residents are the true people that run this campus.  My days at work were always busy and always fulfilling.  The most enjoyable part of my day was seeing the residents smile and talk.  They would ask me for certain things and I felt like they accepted me as part of their family for 3 years.

A typical work day at Subway usually was fun. The staff and the managers were very down to earth. The paced here picked up and died down depending on the time and the seasons. The most enjoyable part about working at subway was being able to come in contact with a variety of different people. I would have to say the most challenging part was dealing with rude customers. While working at Subway I was taught how to handle and interact with different people.
