Lynbrook Restorative Therapy & Nursing

A typical day at Lynbrook Restorative Nursing Home would consist of distributing breakfast to residents and feeding it to them. Immediately after breakfast hours are over they engage in group activities starting off with the current issues in the paper followed by their daily morning exercise. I've learned how to properly care for the elderly and develop relationships with them through communicating with them and paying attention to their needs. The staff at the nursing home was excellent, everyone collaborated well with one another from every department. The hardest part of my job I would say is trying to calm a resident down who is extremely combative and aggressive without any assistance. The most enjoyable part of my job is building a relationship with the residents and learning a little about their backgrounds.

My department feels more like family rather than coworkers. I always feel welcome at work every morning. The rehab team members are always willing to lend a hand or to act as a sounding board when one of our staff needs advice on how to help a resident. Our director is very approachable and always does his best to help out when we are having an issue. There are definitely nurses and CNAs who always go above and beyond to work with our department as a team for the benefit of the residents. Also, there is an amazing free bakery!

Good employees team support. Helping each other 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management. Frequently decrease  work hours . Change contract terms without discussing it with employees

Good team support among employees 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Simple and clear what your responsibilities are for the day.  No changes. Respect you break time.

The hardest part of the job for me is getting through the traffic to get there.  Once getting there I enjoy being there, I actually look forward to going to work. I have a hectic day where I am so busy that I wish there were more hours in my day.  I enjoy what I do and I enjoy that people value me and my work ethics. Its nice that I find ways to improve on the way things can be done for the better of the company. I love the  flexibility and numerous responsibilities which keeps my job interesting and challenging. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
They were nasty and mean.Ny Experian e was terrible

The fact that didn’t take the time to see I was being target by a nurse supervisor

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible always short staff always spoke in other languages beside English..I felt really u comfortable

Work extra hard and get talked down to

The work environment is very challenging on a daily basis. However we have a great team of staff who communicates effectively with supervisors, including meetings and conferences. Also contributes to overall performances, such as employee of the month. Great cooperation to ensure employees work as a team. Last but not least, known to collaborate with others to find solutions to problems.

This place hires you for a job and once you're hired you have 2 more additional positions, with no added bonuses. There recognition of you is a pizza party. The DNS and Admin is very unpleasant and unprofessional. They treat you like a peasant. There is no type of job security especially if you're not 1199. I'm sure the positive reviews are falsified by Admin because nobody likes working here.

This is the best places I ever worked at. Administration is amazing, always open to lend a helping hand. The atmosphere is very nurturing and warm. All departments work together in a professional and also fun manner. I am definitely planning on staying until I retire.

It’s a good place to work in my opinion. I have worked here for 23 years and I love having my workplace close to home. I like working to help people and working here gives me the opportunity to help others and take care of those in need. 

I came to Lynbrook a few years ago and can say I am glad I did. My responsibilities are manageable and I love taking care of the elderly. The work keeps me busy during the day and the unit managers are all easy to get along with. During Covid things were tough, but we worked together and pulled through. I'm very happy working here and I think you will be too.
