Extremely poor management for my program.  The focus was engaging families and individuals for intervention without much concern as to whether or not it was truly indicated.  Medical management appeared reasonable though there were a few questionable applications of meds to children that appeared unusual to a non-medical worker.
Managers who have issues with being seen as friendly and helpful need additional training to become comfortable with being the individual who helps you get the job done better. If the manager is overly sensitive and does not know how to talk to professional persons it becomes stressful for both sides.  A manager who is heavily invested in the rumor mill is not desirable.  Young managers who suffer from ageism and cannot be respectful to older workers lose them and their experience.  If you cannot summon the courage to demand the tools needed to execute the job then you will not get them and will be maligned.  All in all, if you respect yourself, your background, your skills, insight and effective execution you will last for a short while but as you progress you will see that you will get no support here.  The company offers excellent training opportunities if your manager can approve your attendance or not.  Ethical concerns are part of the issue here and one might be in a situation if not very careful.

My typical day would be seeing 5 or 6 clients and entering documentation. 

I learned how important it is to feel supported by supervisors. I want to work for a company that sees me as a person and I did not feel that way at MBI. 

Management, it depends on the person. There is a culture of negativity amongst management. Management will talk about you behind your back and accuse you of different things causing a very difficult work environment. I felt a complete lack of support causing me to have low morale and high burnout.  The workplace culture felt very disconnected. 

The hardest part of the job would be feeling unsupported leading to burnout. MBI works with vulnerable and high needs populations, the work is already emotionally challenging, not feeling supported on top of it is a recipe for burnout. 

The most enjoyable part of the job was the clients, I loved every moment of my time with my clients. 



A typical day at work is hectic, seeing patients back-to-back in a messy and often disorganized environment. I’ve learned to stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly, and make independent decisions when needed. Management is poor there’s little communication, unclear expectations, and a lack of leadership. The workplace culture is toxic, with tension between staff and no real sense of teamwork. The hardest part of the job is dealing with constant stress and negativity while still providing quality care. The most enjoyable part is helping patients directly and knowing my skills are growing despite the challenging environment.



The company is excellent with training. There is a thorough training provided. The CEO is very energetic and nice. She is a person of color too- a bonus! The staff is kind and willing to help. However, you are working in MH so you will be often times busy and left to navigate things on your own so pay attention in the training! 

The compensation varies and is based on your role. I wouldn’t recommend contractual work with this company as your pay will vary and change from week to week. As a contractor, your work and pay is also contingent upon a salaried employee’s work. The company was dishonest about my pay. Leading me to believe I would be paid something different than what I received. However, this is a GREAT company. I would recommend working here especially if you are on salary. 

The company does not show value to staff. They are extremely unprofessional. The computers are out of date. Cramped working conditions and no privacy. I worked in a building with 130 people and we only had 2 staff bathrooms. They pretend to care for clients but think of them as numbers. Due to the fact they are a for-profit mental health agency they only care what will make the agency money. They constantly pretend to see clients and conduct interventions. On several occasions people put intervention notes in for someone who was deceased. Clients always complain about their experience. Company lacks appreciation for staff.

Management holds meetings where only the privileged are able to attend... no pay raises, no promotions even if your work is "examplary".  HR needs to be restructured, as this agency has a very high turnover rate because of lack of employee recognition (no raises, no promotions).  Some staff have worked in the same role for five years without a raise!  I worked there less than one year and at least six licensed clinicians left.  The pay is not worth it and the work load is even worse.

Contacting and engaging clients to reflect work productivity and client compliance. Networking strategies, collaborating and establishing healthy relationship with external stakeholders, how to document, effective and billable documentation through use of language, how to engage clients, time management, etc. The management team was highly competent.. The workplace culture was more client focused due to community based related relationship building. The hardest part of the job was to engage clients, and the most enjoyable part of the job is being able to establish a trustful relationship with the clients.

MBI is a good place where you get to meet people face to face and address their concerns and difficulty especially related to their mental health condition. Clients and sometimes not cooperative and causes the community support worker to make sure you go an extra mile to make them cooperate by collaborating with other colleagues. Considering that here there is not direct hospital experience with clients my wish is get the experience on how to provide holistic care to the clients in a hospital setting and to make sure i increase my Nursing knowledge to a wilder scope of practice

It’s an amazing place with excellent individual in all facilities willing to always help booster your individual goals and create an easy part to easily advocate and help your clients.

It’s hardly stressful because resources have been made available in all area  so as to ease working
