If you enjoy being micromanaged and belittled for not being able to reach impossible goals, this is the job for you! Management does not support you at all. They set you up for complete failure and don't offer much more than verbal "support." Management constantly gossiping behind the backs of their own staff members ALL the time. There is such a high level of favoritism among management that it's ridiculous. 

The drama that runs through the office is absolutely appalling. Everyone is always stabbing each other in the back and throwing each other under the bus to save their own a** or for personal gain.

I feel extremely sorry for the Case Managers that work for this establishment. They are worked like slaves and wrote up for not meeting the next to near impossible productivity goals. Meeting productivity comes down to the cooperation of the patients that they are assigned to. It doesn't matter if you change the lives of multiple people for the better, if you don't meet your quota you get punished and they dock your PTO time to make up for the hours you didn't meet productivity. It's all about the $$$ for these people, they don't care about ANYTHING else.

There are no REAL benefits of working for this company. Insurance is mediocre and this company does not have ANY grievance days or personal days beyond PTO. If anyone in your family passes away, you are required to use PTO or go unpaid for the time you're away (which is frowned upon because you're not meeting productivity goals.)

Some time in the middle of the year, they docked all PTO accural rates for all staff members. If you work the front desk position less than 3 years, you won't earn an entire day of PTO until working nearly 2.5 months. Say goodbye to family vacations!

Lastly, if you think you can operate the front desk of an office and balance the multiple schedules for all therapists and psychiatrists and their hundreds of patients alone, this again, is the job for you. I worked an entire year doing this job by myself. If you need to take time off, they will pull someone else from another office to take your place because the position is not properly staffed at all. On my last week before I quit, they had the AUDACITY to tell me that they were launching the Primary Care office for the first time EVER amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and that I would have to operate both front-desk jobs by myself and they would 'support' me when there was only an allowed maximum of 3 people in the building during the lockdown. (That's not even including being told that I had to try and teach myself an entire new system by the end of the day on Friday via Youtube tutorials and be ready to launch on Monday morning.)

Do NOT work for this company. You WILL be miserable.

The majority of this company is bad.
Pay is poor and inconsistent. Employees requested that Management re-evaluate the pay structure. Management called special meetings, prefaced them as "we listened". Yes they gave us a small increase in pay (only a small part of the problem) but they took away quarterly bonuses as well as reduced paid holidays. 
Work/life balance  is frustrating.  In many instances you are forced to work off the clock.
Insurance has changed for the worse. We now have to participate daily in online training in order to receive a reductions in premiums. With the performance expectations this is nearly impossible and again needs to be done off the clock. We used to be able to see our own doctors for mandatory physicals and mandatory TB tests but they now charge for this as well.
Management and job culture go hand in hand. Management is often rude and condescending. There is little faith in any of our current managers. There are no promotional opportunities unless you go drinking or are a personal friend of Management. Management is full of hypocrisy. Constant threats for write ups and terminations if you are not able to meet production which is out of your control when client's do not show for their appointments. Managers do not care about the needs of the clients or their front line, the emphasis is on bringing in the money even if you have to commit fraud to do it. Inter-departments do not work together, you will get little help seeking answers from others when your managers do not want to respond. One minute you will be micro-managed, the next you will be ignored. Training is far inadequate and the training that is available is online and has not changed in 7 years. Funds for outside training is available but you will be denied as not relative to your position and are also forced to use PTO to attend even if it is beneficial to your position. You are paid for 4 hours a year of training, but the mandatory trainings is approaching 80 hours per year. You are expected to also do this off the clock or you will not meet production expectations.  Opportunities for any job related gains are only for the few chosen by management. You will be told to volunteer for company activities on your days off.  No consistency between managers at the same level.
 

This is not a job I would ever tell anyone to take. The whole goal of my job is to make the company money. A person in my department brings in AT LEAST $120,000 a year. There are 30-40 of us, keep that in mind. You have to go above that to get a bonus. Yup, no raises. You get a bonus based on how much you go above what is already asked of you. SO that means that it gets taxed like crazy and you barely see it. It's not worth it. The bonus I could get is still NOTHING compared to what the higher ups get. The CEO makes over $400,000 a year and gets a LARGE bonus. Why don't you give that to the people who make all the money for the company? And they do everything they can to take your bonus! 
They complain to us about things like the way we dress. Jeans aren't "professional". MY JOB IS NOT PROFESSIONAL. I work with the clients with bed bugs, who don't shower and who are gross. I risk taking bugs into my home, being in filth and going into horrible conditions. But Meridian says... here is $28,000 a year and if you work your tail off I will give you a tiny bonus with a special bonus tax where you lose most of it... ENJOY. Whatever, this job is a joke. The managers make RIDICULOUS money and the people earning the money for the company are not given compensation. In fact, they don't care about us at all. We are replaceable by the next stupid person... they just want to pay as little as they can to make as much money as they can. I made the company like $130,000 dollars and that just isn't good enough. I work all day, get no lunches and am expected to fix everyone's problems. The co-workers are amazing and we are there for each other. Because we all make horrible money and can barely get by... we get each other. But get real, Meridian. You want us to dress professionally to work with bugs, dirt and people who won't shower? You are ridiculous. And thanks for the worst insurance in the world. So glad our clients can get their medications... but we can't. The overall environment of this job is horrible. No room to move up. And you can NEVER have a raise, ever. Awesome. Way to motivate your employees.

ARC, Addiction Recovery Center
Working with Residents in a Drug and Alcohol Rehab. Begin groups and continue with groups through out the day with meals in between with 1 hour of free time in the evening. 12 hour shifts

Management is not employee oriented. Full management change over within a couple of weeks where all rules changed without notice to employees. This made employees look unprofessional and not knowledgeable about our college degrees. No one in position to give supervision support. No training except from other employees that were unable to properly train as it is too fast paced. Very low employee team work. Low morale and no job security. The hardest part about the job is not having ability to use problem solving skills as there were consequences. Being unsure on a daily basis of doing something wrong and being fired, or feeling like not preforming up to standards and being terminated. Seeing peoples appearance, ability to concentrate and their desire to change their lives within 28 days to complete the program.

 In addition, it is rewarding when a resident shows gratitude and responds with appreciation of the time and the caring knowledge to help change their lives.

 Also, management changed rules for residents to a prison setting. building is broken into so many areas it causes a safety issue for employees. Management continues to work with a skeleton crew, one employee for each male and female unit. This cannot match the schedule to allow employees to do their laundry for example as one employee cannot be in two places at one time. Employees are stretched to the point that were set up for failure as the percentage of an issue or situation that can cause a safety issue can happen and any time with no management to assist with situations. Each employee is taught different rules and this causes conflict between employees. I would not recommend anyone to work at this facility.

Job Security/Advancement: Not unless you know someone. Turn over is high. Little security. The viewpoint is that you are totally expendable.

Management: Emphasis is on making money not care for client. No concerns for employee other than making sure the employee is making money. 5 managers in a department of approximately 20 employees and 400 clients. 4 of these managers sole responsibility is auditing to ensure case managers are making money. You are allowed to talk to the 1 manager about client concerns for 1 hour per month. Management makes a percentage of your bonuses. No support. No training. Just long lectures to bill more. Expectation is 100% and will be written up if you do not hit it. No consideration for no calls, length of travel (your vehicle, your insurance), inclimate weather, etc. Managers are non-responsive to staff and passive aggressive.Expectations are unreachable.Huge amount of paperwork, most expected off the clock. Managers are untrustworthy. Managers do not provide training.You are cut loose after a couple hours of job shadowing with formal training non-existent.Minimal training is available on-line but will hinder your ability to meet billing. On-line training has minimal to do with client care and is more administrative policy oriented.

Co-workers are caring individuals. However you only see them during meetings as we are instructed to do our work from free wi-fi and not the office. We are instructed not to socialize on company time. Co-workers do the best they can to help each others.

I work from home currently.  My typical day revolves around Excel spreadsheets, analyzing and correcting data, sending out correspondence within the company for required corrections and improvements, providing support to end users with questions, answering emails, and importing and exporting data.  I also help implement procedures and utilize a department help desk queue to resolve issues with end users.  I also complete other duties as assigned.

I've been promoted 3 times to my current position and I've learned quite a bit about the organizations inner workings and would like to use what I've consumed for growth.  I've done everything from greeting clients, taking payments, scheduling appointments, deterring difficult situations, learning insurance basics, implementing a new prior authorization process, heading the IT help desk support team, analyzing data, and quality control.

The workplace is a community geared towards providing services in the best interests of the clients.

The hardest part of my job can sometimes be most affected by website issues, upgrades, and downtime of outside websites needed to complete my job in a timely manner.

The most enjoyable part of my job is the advantage of working from home and being trusted to complete my job without direct supervision.  I enjoy quality control and quality of work over quantity.  I pride myself on being detail oriented and determined to find solutions.

Meridian Services cares very much for their clients and tries to make sure that client's are first priority with staff. Staff works together for the good of the clients. A typical day at work encompasses a minimum for five hours of billable time seeing clients. A Case Manager might assist a client at the grocery, food pantry, doctor visit, or emergency room visit, or just meet with them at their home to make sure they are provided with services to assist them in their daily lives.
I learned to document everything and to word documentation in a format that is acceptable to Medicaid/Medicare. Notes must be submitted within 47 hours and sometimes this is hard to accomplish. A 15 minute contact might take as long to write a note as a five hour contact.
For the most part management was helpful, friendly and willing to answer questions. My co-workers were awesome to work with and became a team for the betterment of the client.
The hardest part of the job was when a client failed at their personal goal and you felt like you were failing also.
The most enjoyable part of the job was watching the clients achieve even a small victory. It might be for some one week sober/drug free or one year or ten years, each was a huge victory to them.
Another enjoyable part of the job was the inpromptu lunches where staff met to get away from work for just a little while.

The majority of the employees here are overworked and underpaid. The primary goal of Meridian is to make as much money as possible and the expectations of how much money you generate for them is very unrealistic.
Management is very hypocritical - do as I say not as I do. Onsite Managers are a rarity nowadays, they choose to continue to work from home. There is no face to face training or communications. Favoritism remains high = preferred staff get the better shifts and days off while the rest have mandatory overtime. Management punishes all instead of addressing a problem with one.
Benefits do not compare with other employers in the area. Medical benefits are lacking, and both medical and dental the Preferred Providers are the Meridian physicians who are also your coworkers.
Bonuses for staff have been drastically reduced while the bonuses for Management have increased. 81% of your day is spent making "production" leaving little time for documentation or meeting the patients actual needs.
It's sad to see that the community no longer trusts the services of Meridian. It used to be a good place to work but over the years Meridian has focused more on making the money than helping people in need.

Meridian expects way too much from their employees. Pay, based on experience, but doesn't financially honor holding college degrees. Workload to Number of Patients is Unrealistic. Employees feel highly pressured, underappreciated! Very High Turnover. Poor Management! Do not protect employees from mentally ill (death threats from Patients to employee). There is NO Physical Self-defense class. All classes for learning held online, a two year old could pass exams. There are a lot of Holes in What they determine "a system" and require a lot more work.. again, schedules are too consumed with patients daily affairs to improve on "their so called system." Patients abusing system, and Meridian by continuing to use drugs and still qualify for Housing not having to pay anything nor be held accountable. Patients aren't held accountable for their actions, it's always placed on the employee. Need to look at their system and needs a whole bunch of work.

While their mission is admirable, they don't treat their employees, nor their clients very well. No pay raises for employees. The benefits are good, but they can't compensate for the time you don't get to spend with your loved ones due to the unrealistic expectations of employees to carry large case loads & to be willing to work extra hours due to chronic short staffing. In addition, I did not receive a preformance evaluation from my immediate supervisor upon the ending of my probationary period (at 90 days), nor during the 6 months I was there. There is definitely favoritism in upper management and they tend to use their employees with little show of appreciation until they're burned out. Also, this organization is quick to throw their employees under the bus when something goes wrong, to protect the organization's image/reputation. They've grown so much, they seem to have forgotten that without the backbone of hard working and dedicated employees and the clients they serve, they wouldn't have a purpose and a well paying career.
